Klopp Confirms: Liverpool close to making transfer 'decision' about 'exceptional' £45m attacker

Earlier this week, AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani admitted that on-loan Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli^ will probably return to Anfield this summer, but does the Italian striker have a future at LFC?

On Thursday, Galliani told reporters:

"Mario is desperate to stay here at Milan, But like I have said before, he does not merit a permanent deal at the moment. He has to convince us to earn a permanent deal".

When asked about the Balotelli during his pre-Stoke press conference, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp suggested noted:

"It is not the moment to talk about this. It is very difficult. In this moment, we have to play a lot of games and he has to play a lot of games in Italy. We have to make a decision in the summer."

Is Balotelli - hailed in February by Milan Chief Silvio Berlusconi for his 'exceptional ball control' - worthy of another chance at Anfield?

Even if Klopp wants to get rid of the Italian, it may be out of Liverpool's hands. Balotelli has a contract until 2018, and if he refuses to go on loan, he can just sit out his fat contract for the next two years, and pocket £90k-a-weel for doing nothing.

A permanent move (or loan) is the ideal solution, but if he stays at Anfield, then Klopp should at least try and get something out of him. You never know, perhaps Klopp will finally be the manager to decipher the Balotelli enigma.

It's unlikely, but it's worth a shot, and at £90k-a-week, Klopp will probably be 'encouraged' by FSG to try and get some value for money out of balotello
