Exciting News: 'Fabulous' €50m attacker responds to Liverpool rumours; hints at summer transfer

Liverpool continue to be linked with a move for 'fabulous' Bayern Munich Mario Gotze, and the €50m-rated attacker's latest comments suggest that a move to Anfield may be on the cards this summer.

Last week, Sky Sports claimed:

"Mario Gotze is being watched by Liverpool. Bayern are willing to offload [him] after failing to live up to his hype".

ESPN further claimed:

"Bayern are fed up with Gotze and are ready to sell".

When asked over the weekend about signing for Liverpool, Gotze cryptically replied:

"You should ask Jurgen."

This clearly isn't a denial, but it's not a confirmation, either. Are Liverpool negotiating behind the scenes to sign Gotze, or is he merely exhorting Klopp (publicly) to make a move?

With 34 goals/22 assists (56) in 104 games for Bayern (One every 122 minutes), it's clear that - under the right circumstances - Gotze is capable of making a difference on a regular basis.

Prior to losing him to Bayern Munich, Klopp brought Gotze through Dortmund's youth system and into the first team (where he helped BVB win the league), so it'll makes sense if Liverpool make a move for him this summer.

€50m, though? That seems excessive, especially for a player with a questionable injury history. That said, Klopp got the best out of him once, so perhaps he'll be able to do it again at Anfield...
