Anfield Nightmare: 'Sensational' £41m Liverpool star may miss Spurs; injured £71m-trio also doubtful

Liverpool face a tough, potentially season-defining game with Spurs on Saturday, and with Christian Benteke, Roberto Firmino, and Divock Origi already likely to miss the game, it looks like the Reds may also be without star attacker Philippe Coutinho.

According to the Liverpool Echo:

"Coutinho faces a 13-hour flight back from South America on Thursday.

"Klopp will decide how much the gruelling trip has taken out of him before deciding on his line up to face Spurs".

With three goals in his last four starts (including important goals against top opposition), 'sensational' Coutinho is building up momentum again, and if the Reds are to beat Spurs, then it's vital to have Coutinho in the team, especially with Firmino still out with a hamstring injury.

The worst case scenario is that Benteke, Firmino, Coutinho, and Origi all miss out.

If that happens, how will the team line up? Here are a few options:

---------------- Mignolet
Flanagan --- Sakho --- Lovren ----- Clyne
-------- Milner -- Can -- Allen
---------- Lallana -- Hendo
--------------- Sturridge

OR:

---------------- Mignolet
Flanagan --- Sakho --- Lovren ----- Clyne
-------- Milner -- Can -- Hendo
---------- Lallana -- Teixeira
--------------- Sturridge

OR:

---------------- Mignolet
Flanagan --- Sakho --- Lovren ----- Clyne
-------- Milner -- Can -- Hendo
---------- Lallana -- Ibe
--------------- Sturridge

OR:

---------------- Mignolet
Flanagan --- Sakho --- Lovren ----- Clyne
-------- Allen -- Can -- Hendo
---------- Lallana -- Milner
--------------- Sturridge

Forget seeing academy players like Ojo, Teixeira, Brannagan, Smith, or Chirivella in the Spurs game - Klopp will go with experience once again, even if it utilising players out of position.

* Benteke: cost £32m. Firmino: cost £29m. Coutinho: £41m-rated. Origi: Cost £10m. Combined total = £112m
