'Good Enough': Lawro urges Klopp to unleash 'outstanding' Academy sensation vs. Exeter. Agree?

With Liverpool's damaging, Klopp-created injury crisis in full swing, there appears to be an opportunity for several of the club's young players to come into the team against Exeter City, and according to Reds legend Mark Lawrenson, there are two Academy players who should definitely play on Friday night.

In his column for the Liverpool Echo this week, Lawro urged Jurgen Klopp to give the club's young players a 'chance to impress'. He noted:

"Smith and Randall were good enough to beat Southampton, so they shouldn't have a problem [playing against Exeter]. Otherwise, what does that say the standard of our youngsters coming through?"

Absolutely spot on. When Klopp first arrived at Anfield, he told reporters:

"When I'm managing a club, each young player should smile because the chance is bigger than it ever was. The door is pretty wide open. Experience is an important point, but not the most."

In my view, Klopp needs to start living up to this claim because, so far, it's a completely empty statement. The club is ravaged by injury, so Exeter is the perfect opportunity to give Liverpool's young players some much-needed experience.

As such, Klopp should, in my view, make wholesale changes against Leicester, and send out a team primarily composed of youngster, specifically: Smith (recently hailed as 'outstanding' by Jordan Henderson); Randall, Ilori, Teixeira, Kent, Brannagan, and, perhaps, Ojo. Possible lineup:

----------------- Bogdan
Randall ---- Ilori -- Toure ---- Smith
---- Milner ----- Allen --- Brannagan
--------- Teixeira - Kent/Ojo
--------------- Firmino

If not, why not? With Coutinho and Ibe injured, it's a perfect opportunity for Teixeira to play, and it'll be an absolute disgrace if Klopp ignores him again.
