Confirmed Liverpool Team: Last-minute injury blow; Klopp dumps 'unplayable' attacker; League debut for Bogdan

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has named a fairly predictable team for today's crunch clash with Watford, but there are still a couple of surprises, including the absence of Christian Benteke and Simon Mignolet.

TEAM: Bogdan, Clyne, Skrtel, Sakho, Moreno, Lucas, Henderson, Can, Lallana, Coutinho, Firmino.

SUBS: Fulton, Toure, Origi, Randall, Benteke, Allen, Ibe.

WATFORD: Gomes, Nyom, Britos, Jurado, Deeney, Cathcart, Ake, Abdi, Watson, Ighalo, Capoue

* Mignolet has picked up a hamstring injury, and according to the Liverpool Echo: "Mignolet has been left out as a precaution and the injury is only minor".

* Benteke - described as 'unplayable' by Steven Gerrard - is not in the starting XI, and the Echo claims it's not injury related: "Christian Benteke has been dropped for Liverpool's clash with Watford".

* After the Belgian's recent form struggles, that's fair enough, but it gets my goat that Lallana continues to be picked for every game despite also struggling for form.

* Bogdan deserves his chance, and if he does well, he should stay in the team. If not, why not? Aren't players supposed to stay in the team on merit?

* As usual, Mignolet is error-prone this season, and it'll be a disgrace (IMO) if he just wlks back into the team if Bogdan keeps a clean sheet.

Probable formation:

------------------ Bogdan
Clyne ---- Skrtel ----- Sakho ---- Moreno
-------- Hendo --- Lucas ---- Can
------------ Lallana -- Coutinho
------------------ Firmino
