Confirmed Liverpool-XI: £56m-duo axed; injured misfit returns; 3 nice surprises and a wildcard on the bench

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has made significant changes for tonight's League Cup clash with Bournemouth, and the big news is that three of LFC's most promising academy players are starting their first games for the club.

FULL TEAM: Bogdan, Clyne, Toure, Lovren, Randall, Allen, Brannagan, Teixeira, Ibe, Firmino, Origi

SUBS: Fulton, Skrtel, Moreno, Lucas, Lallana, Coutinho, Sinclair

BOURNEMOUTH: Federici, Smith, Distin, Francis, Daniels, Stanislas, Arter, MacDonald, Ritchie, Pugh, Kermorgant.

* Great to finally see Teixeira in the starting lineup. As I argued in another article today, I don't expect him to be a world-beater on his first start for the club, and nor should anyone else. Teixeira should be treated fairly, and the reality is that in the last three years, he's played just 8 minutes of first team football for Liverpool.

* Randall and Clyne in the starting line-up almost certainly means that one of those two is playing out of position. Both players are right-backs (as confirmed by the official LFC website), so it looks like Klopp is doing a Rodgers and putting a square peg in a round hole.

* For me, Clyne should play on the left. He's more experience, and more equipped to handle a position change. I don't see the sense in playing an inexperienced debutant out of position.

* Klopp has chosen to rest both Sakho and Skrtel, which means Lovren comes back into the side. Defensive stability is based on a consistent back four, and making three changes may not be the wisest decision.

* Great to see Sinclair on the bench again, and if Origi continues to misfire, he has a great chance of playing a part in the game.

Probable formation:

-------------- Bogdan
Clyne --- Lovren -- Toure ---- Randall
---------- Allen - Brannagan
---- Ibe ---- Firmino -- Teixeria
------------- Origi

OR, in a 4321:

-------------- Bogdan
Clyne --- Lovren -- Toure ---- Randall
--- Teixeira - Allen - Brannagan
-----------Ibe ---- Firmino
------------- Origi

I'm excited to see what this team can do. It's full of attacking intent, and I really hope Klopp gives Teixeira, Brannagan, and Randall the whole game to prove themselves.

Coutinho, and Lallana have singularly failed to step up in the league, so they should stay on the bench unless it's an emergency (and by that, I mean injuries to Teixeira or Brannagan).

For all intents and purposes, this is a Premier League game, so if any of the newcomers play well, they should (arguably) keep their places for Chelsea on Saturday.
