'He was immense': Aldo/Owen/Evans etc react to Liverpool-Arsenal draw. Gomez 'disappointed' with the draw

After last night's 0-0 draw with Arsenal, it's three clean sheets in a row for Liverpool, which is an admirable achievement after the defensive problems that derailed the team last season. The Reds have clearly worked hard on defensive organisation, but even with tens of millions of new creative talent in the squad, scoring goals remains an issue.

Post-match reaction:

Brendan Rodgers

"Our performance level is growing all the time, you see our defensive organisation was very good against a top-class team. It's very much about the intensity of how we press".

Jordan Henderson

"Great performance from the lads tonight!"

Nathaniel Clyne

"Good solid performance from the team & another clean sheet just couldn't find the goal. Our fans were great again"

Joe Gomez

"Good result away at the Emirates... Disappointed not to get all 3 points but another clean sheet"

Michael Owen

"Best performance of the season so far from Liverpool. Arsenal yet to hit top form but a draw was probably a fair result".

Roy Evans

"Well played liked our attitude and determination against a top team just lacked the ability to win the game when on top in first half".

Terry McDermott

"Lucas also showed he still has a vital role to play in the squad, it would be a shame to see him go if the speculation is true".

John Aldridge

"Probably a fair result Seems Lucas is leaving tomorrow. He was immense tonight. Wish him all the very best".

Phil Thompson

"Good result, but should have been out of sight in the first half".

Mark Wright

"Fantastic game. Brilliant defending. Is this our year?"

'Is this our year? Steady on (!) There are lots of positives to take from the game, but also some significant areas in need of improvement, but that's another article. For now, my player ratings:

* Mignolet (7): Several good saves, but some suspect distribution.

* Clyne: (7): Solid for the most part, but sometimes outdone by Arsenal's intricate passing. Didn't really offer much going forward.

* Skrtel: (8.5): Several vital interceptions, and dominant in the air when it mattered.

* Lovren: (8): Another assured performance. Good positioning, and growing in confidence (and verbosity) especially when it comes to organising the defence.

* Gomez: (7): Caught out a few times, but calm under pressure when in possession. Like Clyne, little impact in the opposing half.

* Milner: (6.5): Busy, industrious, and defensively sound. The team needs more than that from Milner, though.

* Can: (6.5): Looks good striding through midfield with the ball, but no end product, and didn't look like scoring/creating a goal.

* Lucas: (7.5): Made a big difference to the balance of the team. Arsenal didn't score, so he did his job.

* Firmino: (6): Created three chances, but lost the ball too easily on occasion. Promising.

* Coutinho: (7.5): The only genuine goal-threat in midfield, but went missing at times during the game.

* Benteke: (7.5): Great hold-up play, and intelligent running. Won everything in the air.

* Rossiter: (6): Baptism of fire for Rossiter. Did well defensively in the last 10 minutes.

* Moreno: (5.5): Wasted a glorious chance to snatch the game with a late counter-attack.

* Ibe (4): Nightmare cameo. Repeatedly gave the ball away.

My Man of the Match: Skrtel
