Marquee Signing: €25m superstar wanted by Liverpool confirms he's 'moving on'. Sign or avoid like the plague?

With Steven Gerrard leaving at the end of the season, Real Madrid star Sami Khedira is reportedly on Liverpool's shortlist to replace the club's influential captain, and with the season almost over, Khedira has announced that he's leaving the Bernabeu this summer.

Earlier today, Khedira - reportedly the subject of a €25m bid from Arsenal in the summer - posted the following message on Instagram:

"Valdedebas for the last time. I am moving on but I will surely miss my club Real, all of its staff and my unbelievable teammates! Guys, it was one heck of a ride!!!"

Liverpool were last linked with Khedira in February, and in an ideal world, the German would be a great signing.

Alas, like Daniel Agger, and Daniel Sturridge, he is massively prone to injury:

* Two cruciate ligament injuries in four years.

* Missed 87 games as a result of 11 separate injuries in the last 4 years.

* A grand total of 20 injuries since 2008 (105 games missed)

* Averaged only 23 league games a year since 2006.

* This season alone: FIVE separate injuries, restricting him to only 17 appearances all season.

I just don't see the sense in risking big bucks on players with huge injury histories.

There are lots of players out there for similar fees whose careers are not littered with endless injury set-backs.

The fact Khedira is free shouldn't come into it. Gerrard's replacement has to be someone who will play most games, and have a regular impact on the team, and Khedira's history proves that he isn't capable of doing that.

In my view, signing a player with Khedira's injury history is transfer negligence of the highest order, so here's hoping Liverpool are no longer interested.

I'd rather see James Friggin' Milner at the club, and that's saying something (!)

  1. I think some contract with payment based on appearances, then I would accept him with open arms. Though chances of that happening are slim if not impossible.

  2. Don't worry..Khedira won't even think about joining a club with out CL football.

  3. Avoid 100 per cent = I said all along Arsenal had tapped up Sterling so never sell him to them - Why cant LFC figure out what everybody else can

*The fact Khedira is free shouldn't come into it* I disagree. For free a good midfielder like Khedira is worth a risk but he shouldn't be Gerrard's replacement with his injury record. We still need a another good midfielder.

But another big club might not want him with his injuries. Liverpool will.

  6. ...gosh this is so tricky; such a conundrum for LFC.....maybe I can help...

...buying a 'crocked' player; a player at the 'highest' level but 'not really performing'; a player past his speed best but still has 'technical ability - all of these and every other player coming with any sort of caveat is something we should be avoiding at all costs.....

....with the money spent the transfers have been nothing short of atrocious; there are plenty of fantastic buys out there at the price level we are purchasing at - and if I was being paid £75k - £250k per year to study those believe me I'd give you one heck of a list right now...but my time is spent trying to put bread on my family table so I'm afraid I cannot indulge you with that...

..however LFC committee should be able to and the fact they're getting it wrong is now starting to make me step aside when fans on forums start aiming and firing; instead of previous when I'd defend to the hilt......

  7. I am not sure if BR would be interested to bring a player who has played for Real (& Germany), won almost every trophy at club & country level and has played under Trapatoni, Mou, Ancellotti, Lowe, Klinsmann.....

His target is a bit different, at per with his own pedigree....

  8. He'll go to Schalke- mark my words!

  11. We have just been named flop team of season 14/15. Though a little embarassing but we deserved the award completely. I guess we were streets ahead of our nearest competitor in the voting. From the collective snippets and speculations online, we are more likely to end up with Danny Ings and JFM for next season, in the process, highly probably losing Raheem Sterling and Lucas coupled with Steven Gerrard's confirmed departure. Avoid sounding ultra pessimistic, but I can see us having a better chance of securing the flop team of season award again than displacing one of the top four teams of this season.

    ReplyDelete
  12. ...yeah but excell there's is always a flip side to an award like this....

...you may think I am some kind of spin doctor but doesn't that go to show that teams from around the footballing world and journo's etc regard us at LFC as football roayalty and that we should be in the mix when it comes to trophies and the like....

....it means that regardless of any cr@p surrounding our beloved club there is still the threat coming from within that we will do something to fight for our right at the top table...

...personally i take it as a very good sign.......

    ReplyDelete
  13. I would rather spend massive wages on Khedira compared to Milner especially if Lucas is going. At least we will get a top defensive midfielder.

    ReplyDelete
  14. ...so the difference would be on average 100% for khedira in your view, vs 75% for Milner ability-wise....

so you'd rather have a guy who is 100% available 25% of the time than someone who is 75% available 100% of the time...?
...on top of which you can bet Milner will give you 100% of his 75% ability week in/week out...

...reliability is something to be considered when choosing players as well as ability...

    ReplyDelete
  15. The question is, how much improvement will he bring playing 15 games a season. His CL experience won't help us because were not in the CL. What we need is three or four signings that will improve our first 11. Not another complete overhaul.

    ReplyDelete
  16. My guess is Wolfsburg

    ReplyDelete
  17. But if Lucas had to leave which is likely to happen then who will be our DM? Milner?

From the same interview Jaimie has used in his article

"You always have to tell the truth." he said. "I did have a small injury, a pain in my right heel, but that wasn't why I wasn't playing. It wasn't a complicated injury -- I was able to play.

"I've always felt that I've had the coach's backing, but the message indirectly came through to me that I was no longer needed -- I was frozen out and wouldn't have a chance to continue playing."

He has only made 3 starts this season. He is not injured now and still is not making the bench at Madrid. Clearly Madrid want rid of him. Khedira all day long, 365 days off the year over Milner.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Logan... Kedhiera is obviously the superior player and in the big scheme of things I would have no hesitation whatsoever saying the guy has a style, elegance and presence we've been missing for way too long in DM....

my only issue is the fact that the guy missed sooooo many flippin' games via injury...granted he may not be now...and granted we may be really lucky and he may not have any injury for the next three years (yeah right) ....but the issue here is two fold...

    ...he wants champs league...

...we wont go for ready made...

    ...yeah I know.....there I said it.......

    ReplyDelete
  19. What injuries were they? Borini has played 399 minutes of EPL football this season. He has not been injured has he?

If a player is not in a managers plans then he will not play irrespective. Lambert, Balotelli? Have they been injured?

Khedira is fit and is not even making Madrid's bench. Below is data from Transfermarket regarding his injuries this season and before.

    ReplyDelete
  20. ...below...?!?

anyway...according to the info in the original post he's been restricted to 17 appearances i n the league through 4 different injuries.....surely you can see one cannot depend on this guy and to try build around him would be tantamount to self-destruct.....again surely you can see we would be better off buying someone else for that role...

    ReplyDelete
  21. We need two top strikers and I wouldn't be looking at qpr and burnley to get them from but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Rodgers does gi for one of these . If I'm honest I have absolutely no confidents at all in Rodgers and co bringing in good enough quality to get us into a top 4 . Whilst the top 4 hunt around for top internationals we are looking at relegated team players and Southampton no doubt

    ReplyDelete
  22. That is Jamie's opinion. Transfermarket says he has missed 5 games the whole season through injury. If he has missed only 5 games through injury according to transfer market then how could he only be restricted to 17 apps?

Details of the injuries this season and the length of them would determine how many games he would have missed. In the image from Transfermarket it states he was out from Feb 7 to March 3 2015. How would that have restricted him to only 17 matcches?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Logan...that's not my problem to be fair....

...we come on this forum with a modicum of respect for the fact that mostly his data will be there or thereabouts.......

...I've said it before but I'm not the most learned of individuals who grace these fine comment-making threads but even I have a strong sense that Sami kedhira is a 'sicknote'.....

...that said....I wonder have you thought soemone as 'fantastic' and 'world-class' as sami kedhira first of all leaving on a free and then second willing to join a club without champs league football.....

    ...doesn't that stink of something...?

...I'll let you in on something else too...he certainly won't be getting anywhere near the wages he's used to if he does come...

..I think he's a turk so even with Emre Can's pull in the equation...there is something very fishy about him agreeing to come if he does....smacks of injury prone to me sorry......

    ReplyDelete
  24. I think any club that goes for him will be cautious on what money they offer him and that is something he will just have to accept. The 'loaded' clubs may be less cautious but it remains to be seen if they go in for him. The next tier of clubs like Wolfsberg or Schalke will likely offer a salary offset against his injury record i.e. lower basic salary with some add ons as you play.
So my point is that unless a top side bids then we should be able to compete for his signature whilst still offering 'cautious' terms.

    ReplyDelete
  25. ..offering a pay as you play will smoke out the truth.......

    ReplyDelete
  26. There won't be many clubs that will carelessly throw money at him without raising concerns about his injury record.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ok, just got the data through Logan....on your table there.....

...still if this is the info to go by then maybe the manager lost faith he could rely/depend on the guy to allow a team to gel around him...

...must say he is a brilliant midfielder with great strength and ability but I'd be very surprised if we got him...free or not...

...but with this fresh data gotta say on a free it look very tempting......

    ReplyDelete
  28. Khedira is leaving on a free because his contract is ending. Macmanaman left on a free because his contract ended and many other players have done the same at various clubs.

Madrid do not want to renew Khedira contract and he does not want to stay there.

    ReplyDelete
  29. ...only thing is Logan posted a table below showing something very interesting about his injuries last year....he doesn't seem to be as sicknote as first thought......

.....he's free and if wages are capped he'd be a good acquisition for moral, presence on field and draw for other players......

    ReplyDelete
  30. Where as in an interview with Franz Beckenbauer he stated that and I will quote

"Sami Khedira 'would not help any team' because injuries have ruined his physical attributes

In his current physical shape Khedira would not help any team forward

He is missing something in each aspect of the game at the moment.

His ability to keep on running in midfield was key to his game. He does not add much without that..."

    ReplyDelete
  31. Agreed, he is definately worth pursuing.

If he wants more money that what we consider is sensible (with his supposed injury record?) then we pursue other targets. However the fact there is no transfer fee should also be taken into account. The chance to get a 'world class' midfielder for free doesn't come up too often and if we got him it would send out a good message to other potential targets

    ReplyDelete
  32. ..thanks ghost rider...

...hence my apprehension was correct...he's a sicknote.......

    ReplyDelete
  33. IMO, Khedira is a world class player who has played at Real Madrid, is a world cup and Champions League winner and a proven international. These are all attributes that no player in our team has now Gerrard is gone. Plus, we have such a fragile midfield so having Khedira would improve it immensely. While injuries might be an issue, having Khedira for 10 -15 games will be million times better than having an Ings or Milner play regularly. If Khedira joins, he will become our best player regardless of anything. But, I am not expecting anything. After all, this is a club that failed to attract the great Clint Dempsey and Gylfi Sigurdsson and was stupid enough to give an injury prone Sturridge 150 k a week. We value Sturridge so much, imagine how we would value Khedira?

    ReplyDelete
  34. You having reading difficulty again I see.

Once again, you only want the club to buy from clubs above us.. fine.

Yet when we are linked with a player who is playing for a club above us you complain.

Who would you like us to sign from Man Utd, Chelsea, Man City or Arsenal?

    ReplyDelete
  35. So what you are saying is that winning the CL 10 years ago, 1 League Cup which nobody outside of the England, and many in England don't care about and 1 FA Cup means players like Martinez should sign for us over the likes of Arsenal?

Either thou we are not in the CL where as Arsenal have been for the last 18 years, lets not even talk about the comparisons of Liverpool v London.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I never once mentioned anything about clubs above us. My comment relates to overspending countless times on players from teams below us. It is a fact that we have signed countless flops from teams below us in the league so again I do not know what you are on about.

Milner has got nothing to do with my original post. You are the one who brought him into the equation. If we we were signing players from teams above us and the result was the same compared to signing players from teams below us then by all means lets continue with this discussion.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I would take Khedira anytime provided we can get at least 25 games from him in a season we need some winners in this team .I just read that LFC has slapped a 60 m price on a 20 year old without a left foot but I fear more what we would do with the money available from his sale.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Maybe on a pay as you okay deal. We cannot be dishing out £150K a week to players with his injury record. Giving Sturridge such a long and huge contract is going to come back to haunt us.

    ReplyDelete
  39. "We should not be signing anymore players from clubs that finish behind us in the EPL. Simple"

    Quoted from you.

That can only mean that you want us to sign players from teams above us.

That means signing players from Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea.

So who from those 4 clubs do you expect us to sign?

    ReplyDelete
  40. He would not be a direct replacement for Gerrard but would add similar class to our midfield. To have another big name player in our squad would also bring a lot of other benefits such as a statement of intent, huge dressing room experience, lure for potential other target etc

    ReplyDelete
  41. Well sadly both have been better, at getting goals in these poor sides ,than the ones we have so obviously if they are available dirt cheap we could look at them unless we get the top top level finisher. We have been patiently waiting for 25 years might as well wait a few more for that PL trophy. We need to buy at least one big player each year to challenge for the league trophy in 3 years time.

    ReplyDelete
  42. NonEventHorizon9:56 am, May 24, 2015

If you really can't see what everyone else is on about concerning your comment, then how can we really assume you know what you're saying.... It's obvious to everyone but you!

I do agree with you to a point - that we shouldn't sign mediocre players from teams below us, but there are a wealth of decent players in those teams that would improve us

    ReplyDelete
  43. If you take Suarez out of the equation, he's recouped next to nothing.
He's also failing to hold on to the clubs best players and replacing them with dross.
He is damaging LFC more than any manager over the last 60 years. Right now, I'd have Souness back in place of him...
Still at least the books balance... or do they?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Where have I said I want us to sign from clubs above us? Point out it out otherwise you are just putting words into my mouth.

It is extremely rare that we sign players directly from teams above us so there is no point in you trying to make a comparison.

Milner is still at City and I would not be interested in paying him massive wages and a signing on fee as he clearly is not the type of player we need.

Again, what has signing flops from teams which finish below us (my original post) got to do with signing players who finish above us (your reply)?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Ok, answer this. Who have we signed DIRECTLY from teams which have finished above us?

Why then try telling me I do not know what I am saying? And then you even agree with what I said?

    ReplyDelete
  46. If he's willing to take a pay cut of 80-100 k a week perfect but we should at least try we gambled on Ball didn't we and he's on 95-110 a week if I'm not wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Our top scorer scored 11, most of which were from penalties. THAT'S crap. The squad of players is now at a level where we have NO world class players, three that might be rotation/bench warmers in a top four squad and the rest who are bottom-half to relegation quality.
Austin or Ings should fit right in.

    ReplyDelete
  48. "James Friggin' Milner" reference count this week: 75

    ReplyDelete
  49. IMO, he's a world class player who has played at Barcelona, not Real Madrid.

    ReplyDelete
  50. "We should not be signing anymore players from clubs that finish behind us in the EPL. Simple"

    ReplyDelete
  51. Thinking like this is what is wrong with the current board and owners at LFC. Lack of ambition!!!
Instead of ruthlessly going for top quality players and making sure we at least get 2, they're targeting 2 strikers that had good debut season's in the PL, but who are from proven/established.
I agree that 'statistically' both these strikers performed better than our own this season, but that doesn't mean that they are better players. It wasn't just our strikers who under-performed, the whole team did. Lovren, Lallana and Lambert had terrific seasons with Southampton. Balotelli has proven his quality at every team/level he's played.
The problem lies deeper and I believe it's all down to a very stubborn manager who never adjusted his system to fit the talent available to him. He did the opposite, resulting in players being out of position for the entire season.
As another poster wrote recently, it'd be a shame if they let Balotelli go without allowing him play in a formation that suits his style.

    ReplyDelete
  52. He wasnt good enough to get picked simple .

    ReplyDelete
  53. Yes friggin Pete!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Based on our budget and other restraints no CL etc our strike force next season should be Benteke, Sturidge, Origi and Ings. This is a nice balance of proven quality, potential and pace, it also gives us options for when Sturidge is out. I know theirs better strikers out there and I for one would love to get Lacazette but in reality I think the four I mentioned are the best we can hope for and if played in the right system should be able to score a hell of a lot more goals than this season and thus give us a chance of making a CL spot.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Actually we only need a striker that will score goals. Players like Suarez and Sturrridge will always score goals, no matter who they play for. We need another striker who has been scoring goals since he was a kid. It doesn't matter how much or how young or even who the player is, but they need to have been scoring goals every season since they were a kid (a proven goalscorer). It's time to unearth another gem.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I would allow him to go to Arsenal just for the irony.he wants to go to win trophies, but over the last 10 years arsenal have won less trophies than we have.that would be hysterical & stinks of desperation.

    ReplyDelete
  57. With a player like Khedira, even playing 23 games a season can be the difference between CL and EL... Then you have the winning mentality, the knowledge to be passed on and then you have Emre Can....There's alot to be gained by having a player like Khedira on the books and around the training ground...

    ReplyDelete
  58. Can we stick to football?

    ReplyDelete
  64. I'm really starting to like you.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I am not sure whether Khedira is as good as he was before injury.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Rodgers and the transfer committee have proven to be incompetent at a best you could argue grossly negligent at worst. Ultimately their replaced Suarez (the most in form striker on the planet at the time) with Lambert and Balotelli need anything else be said.

    ReplyDelete
  67. No one mentioned the £60m price tag being slapped on Steling's head by LFC...

    ReplyDelete
  68. I just read about that, apparently Sterling rang Ayre to state that he wanted to leave and Liverpool responded by pushing his price tag to 60mil

    ReplyDelete
  69. I hope someone is silly enough to pay it, If City were offering Milner £165k a week, £60m on Sterling should pretty straight forward.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Khedira is a quality player but I agree he is far to injury prone. I'm not apposed to signing James Friggin' Milner he's far from a marquee signing but he is a hard working and honest player with a good team mentallity and experience and I would rather have a player with his attitude than selfish Sterling. Truth be told though we are in dire need of proven quality the type of player that lets the rest of the world know we need business as it gets the fans excited and shows intent.

    ReplyDelete
  71. its a romantic idea stan having a player like khederia passing on all his worldly wisdom to can etc but its flawed.....all it does is eat up the salary budget and blocks the route of fit players

    ReplyDelete

  74. Thats uncalled for, take it back now....

    ReplyDelete
  75. if im honest i hane no faith in anything rodgers does on the transfer front heres how i think it will pan out
    * sign a number of players for positions we have covered
    * over pay for players we dont need
    *release players we do need
    * over pay for players then loan them out in jan

i could go on and on with these scernarios and they will al come to pass because rodgers for me is stuck in the headlights of mediocrity

    ReplyDelete
  76. We can happily give him Johnsons salary..... But his injuries, although seemingly numerous, from Logan's image, not particularly serious as often.... Don't forget though, Apart from Can, who isn't really a DM, we won't have a DM next season.....I would go all out for someone like Johannes Geis, but we know Brendan doesn't really like them....or atleast thats how it seems...

    ReplyDelete
  77. neither is allen or gerrad but rodgers plays them there,in the rodgers world of football there is no specialized position we could well see origi played at rb next year

    ReplyDelete
  78. one of the main remits of a top manager is the ability to sell a club and its vision to attract and top players and keep exisiting ones its a fail on both account for rodgers

    ReplyDelete
  79. what the rodgers tenure has shown is we cant win uglyand tend toonly win if we play well and get the run of the ball,i hope im wrong but i have a feeling liverpool will collapse next year into the middle table pack where you never look like breaking into the top 4 .....chelase arsenal city utd its hard to look past them

    ReplyDelete
  80. I wouldn't say we happily gave Johnston his wages, more like thanks to the previous owners and Rafa we didn't have much choice.

On top of that its not like we had clubs beating down our door to take him out of our hands.

    ReplyDelete
  81. To be fair it has been hard to look past those 4 for many years now.

When a club has managed to break into the top its usually because they have had an outstanding season and one of the others has had a very ppor season.

    ReplyDelete
  82. we cant attract them with no cl and rogersat the helm ......we will do well to sign ings and co the way we shape

    ReplyDelete
  83. Sorry mate but we have been like this for quite a few years now

    ReplyDelete
  84. plus i also forgot tomention that i dont think khederia would sign for us anyway

    ReplyDelete
  85. Strangely enough I can see Chelsea going for for.

    ReplyDelete
  86. thats why its imperative we have someone at the helmwho uses the funds wisley and buys players who not only fit the bill but can actually fit a position, what rogers seems to do is buy on a whim ,sign a player play him a few times and then click that that player is neither suitable for the position or the sysyem .

    ReplyDelete
  87. I doubt anyone would be silly enough to pay that much, and certainly not Wenger (if true that Arsenal is Raheem's preferred destination). I suppose slapping a ridiculous price-tag on a want away player with two years of his contract left to run is a positive, firm way of wrestling back some power in the situation. In all honesty, I bet we'd let him go for £15 million less than that, but there's the 20% sell on fee to consider, so I hope we squeeze every last penny we can out of the sale.

    ReplyDelete
  88. NO.... he is hard worker but like JK says no more players with history of injuries as we have already suffered as fans. Yes, James Milner would be better if we were that desperate. Be afraid, be very afraid of the transfer window....

    ReplyDelete
  89. milner is not getting any younger and has had the advantage of not being overused at city because of the squad,i very much he has played unless 100 fit,at liverpool those variables change , chances are he will be played more ( wgaes means rogers will have to ) chances are he will be played more out of position ( always leads to reduced form and injury ) chances are he will have to work harder as he is playing with inferior players ( less space etc ) milner will be a flop at liverpool because you will have an overpayed donkey being expected to win the national

    ReplyDelete
  90. Seems a lot for just his head but I do like the idea of selling him piece by piece

    ReplyDelete
  91. agreed ...if a past his best and his best was average at best is the best we have to look forward to we had best get used to midtable .....that my rodgers tounge twister about milner

  96. It is amusing that some seem to think FSG "lack ambition" and then claim they are just all about business and not best interests of team. Let's all put our thinking caps on shall we? It is in the best interests of FSG to have a successful team. More success equals more revenue across all channels. So the idea that the owners "lack ambition" is just ludicrous. Also, they are working within the confines of current FFP rules. 'Pool missed the boat on sugar daddies a decade ago. Get over it. No top player wants to go to an inconsistent CL team. Period. They don't care about history. They want proven success, preferably in or close to a glamour locale. It's easy to fault BR and transfer committee because of the results. No one but them, however, know what was actually available. You want proof of Liverpool's difficulty in the transfer market? Sanchez. Not saying BR is best manager, but looking at the reality - not the fantastcal crap transfer rumours - I suspect Liverpool has much more to overcome to atract talent in today's environment. The owners and manager, whoever they are, can't do much about that other than buy young potential and hope it works.

Anybody seen that bit in Jerry McGuire where Tom Cruise is arguing stats with Dorothy's son Ray?
    Jerry asks:
'Did you know that (Player) has (gives his stats for yards rushed touchdowns and points) and is NOT in the Hall of Fame'
    Ray:
'Did you know my next door neighbour has two rabbits?'
    Cruise gives up.
THAT'S what it's like debating with Logan...

  98. I disagree with your last point. The owners can do a lot to attract top players in the current circumstances. Just bring a charismatic manager with a winner track record and that would help attract top players. It will still be difficult to compete against CL clubs, but it will give us a better chance that at present.
If Rodgers had been in charge of Arsenal, and Wenger of Liverpool, perhaps Sanchez would've come to us instead.

  99. We haven't had a manager who uses funds wisely since Kenny (the first time he was manager)

  100. I have a sneaky feeling were going to lose today.

  101. Jesus, you are really getting on my nerves now. Transfermarkt does NOT say that Khedira has only missed 5 games; it states he has been injured FIVE TIMES this season, and has missed almost 20 games. ESPN, OPTA and every other resource confirms this.

I'm sick of your constant misrepresentation of facts. Seriously, if you keep this up, I'm just going to ban you permanently. Your views are valued here, but your persistent antagonism is a problem.

  102. I rest my case - Stoke 6-1 LFC.

Not interested in excuses, there aren't any. Don't care that it was the last game of the season. That result shows the players that were used are inadequate and unprofessional and the manager has no clue, perhaps even has lost the dressing room.
I would hope for a big announcement by Wednesday.

  103. JK,
Spot on again. We need quality but not another injury prone hospital case. We mailed this game in today.......
big changes are needed for all to see.....all the "fantastics", "exceptionals" and "Superbs" have been laid bare as false for all to see.

  104. You are completely correct Gil. Changes are desperately needed starting ASAP.

  105. Yes but joe Allen is the welsh Xavi!!! Transfer decisions have been pitiful with the likes of Allen, Aspas, Alberto, Balotelli, Lambert, Lallana (who can't stand up) have made zero impact........

  106. Spend for Carvalho and stop the madness!!!

  107. Well said!

  108. If you think this season is bad, then wait for next year. Bottom six guaranteed. The players are so bad they are a laughing stock and the manager is a total clown who, for some reason nobody can fathom, thinks he's wonderful. Even a new manager couldn't do a thing wih what is at his disposal, but at least it would be a start.

  109. They are both average crap and nowhere near good enough for LFC. Hopefully after rodgers is fired they will not go after either

  110. System? What system is that? Has Rogers got a system?

  111. But their manger isn't a clown. NOBODY who is any good would sign for Coco.

  112. Austin and Ings combined Will be good enough strikers. Loads of money will be required to overhaul the team. Getting both (IMO) will represent very smart buys.

  113. Have to agree....
    .....they are very different ....
I think my point was more we should look at reliability in performance for the money paid esp when pressure on....

    ReplyDelete
  114. I agree, even with limited game time, Khedira could still prove to be a vital difference in a season.... At the point, I would rather the risk and acquire a WC winner, than still prevail with this failing formula....We can wait for the players we have to hit their peaks, but in the meantime we lose ground on those above.... We have to stop the rot now....and a player of Khedira's quality can't harm the effort.

  115. Wouldn't worry about it. We won't be signing him
