Game On: €50m 'genius' is now Liverpool's top transfer target. Done deal this summer?

Last month, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers spent several days in Italy on 'club business' in an alleged bid to lay the 'groundwork' for signing Roma star Miralem Pjanic. Rodgers reportedly held a meeting with Roma, but Pjanic later claimed that he'd personally had no contact with LFC. Speculation has died down over the last month, but new reports suggest that Liverpool's interest in the midfield maestro is stronger than ever.

According to The Mirror on Friday:

* Pjanic is Rodgers' number one transfer target this summer.

* The Bosnian playmaker 'wants to leave Roma'.

* Roma will sell for €50m (£37m)

In a recent interview, Roma President James Pallotta also confirmed that Pjanic is for sale, when he told reporters:

"We're businessmen. If someone comes in with a stupid number for a player, you have to listen to it. You can't just say no, no matter what"

Well, €50m fits the description of a 'stupid' offer, and in order to seal the deal, Liverpool are going to have to break the club's transfer record AND it's wage structure.

Pjanic reportedly wants £160k-a-week to sign for Liverpool, and if the Reds give him that, the mercenaries at Anfield will inevitably come out of the woodwork at some point and demand parity (*cough* Sterling).

Some info about Pjanic, described by Roma coach Rudi Guede 'hailed as a 'genius' earlier this season:

* Central midfielder.
* Can also play right wing.
* 135 apps for Roma.
* 16 goals/29 assists.
* Goal/assist every 2.8 games.

* This season: 3 goals/6 assists in 37 apps.
* Passing accuracy: 91%
* Key passes: 70 (2 per game)
* Current contract expires in 2018.

Is Pjanic worth €50m and £160K a week? I just don't see it.

  1. Sturridge out again for another month

  2. Neither is Sturidge and Sterling - Time to SELL all 5 strikers - HONEST

    ReplyDelete
  3. SNAP ,at last somebody who feels the same as me.

    ReplyDelete
  4. DS loves his hip hop, but what he really needs is a hip op.

    ReplyDelete
  5. It really is a mystery. Man is made of glass.

Our failure to sign a prolific striker this season needs to be rectified at the start of next season and if Ings is the answer then roll on mid table mediocrity!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Doubt we are going to spend that much on one player. We also have other positions to fill GK, RB, DM, ST so here you are looking at a minimum £50m. Another £36m for Pjanic will possibly take our spending to another £100m which ain't going to happen.

I would like Laczette or Dyabla
    but Vietto is more realistic

    Is Sturridge,Vietto,Origi

    not enough?

    ReplyDelete
  8. the problem with our strikers they are either injury prone/plan B/doesn't fit the system/not good enough etc Origi is not yet ready to be the lead striker ,therefore we urgently need a senior striker in the summer

    ReplyDelete
  9. I think we are all in agreement. We should sell all our players, sack the manager and start again with the academy players. ;-/

    ReplyDelete
  10. Origi will be on the bench next season. Chances are he may not be ready for the EPL. He is only 19 so to throw him in the fire immediately will see him burn.

We need experienced players if we are going to want to see the team go to the next level. Signing more players with promise is going to get us nowhere.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I fully agree. Proven players who can walk into the starting eleven instead of going through more excuses of transition when we sign players who are not ready!

    ReplyDelete
  12. The best laid plans. We tried that with Lambert Balotelli and to some extent Borini.

I agree it is what we need but getting it right is difficult sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Balotelli was a panic buy. We had a whole season to find a suitable player to fill the Suarez void.

Lambert was always going to be a squad player, even Rodgers even said so and Borini was also young when we signed him.

Remy would have been a example of a player who can walk straight in and would have been far less of a risk than Balotelli.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Mebbe who knows he has not played that much and had we paid the reported demands for Remy then many would be complaining especially if he was not performing as well as expected

    ReplyDelete
  15. He has not had much of a chance at Chelsea has he?

    ReplyDelete
  16. but we keep Johnson to pass on his experience- right?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yup, How about we look at a Sturridge replacement instead? He's not a regular starter and can't be depended on at all.We dont' have any reliable all out strikers.Enough attacking midfileders in our squad.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Strikers should be priority! This is getting annoying now. We looking at areas we already have considerable strength in.Another season with no strikers and we'll be fighting for freakin relegation.

    ReplyDelete
  19. We could sell Suarez again.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Johnson gets waaaaaay too much stick from you chaps haha

    ReplyDelete
  21. Worst part is that we are going to have to sell Balotelli for half the price we paid to be rid.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Forget top 4 every chance we will finish 8th

    ReplyDelete
  23. I reckon it will be 5th or 6th. If so FSG ain't going to be impressed.

    ReplyDelete
  24. We love him really- love him even more if he played for Roma : )

    ReplyDelete
  25. So why did liverpool NOT buy him ?

    ReplyDelete
  26. We really need to revert back to 4-2-3-1 with Lucas as a DM. That will partially solve our attacking problems.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Anderson just signed a new contract ,so coming to Liverpool is NOT going to happen !!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Spot on with your analysis and squad upgrades.

    ReplyDelete
  29. He'll be taking for the team then, eh :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Which may result in a review of BR's position which may not be a bad thing ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Then we should keep Super Mario!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yes please - especially if we get some commission from the video game..

    NOT

    ReplyDelete
  33. What, you prefer Luigi? Frankly I object to his favoured shade of green.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Yep clashes with our RED ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Especially when in America whilst playing City BR refuted on a more than one occasion he was not interested in Mario.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Hmm... we could splice him into our home kit. We do need a better yellow one.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I read an article which made total sense! If Sterling was to sign a new contract, he would have done it by now!
Each week he misses £65,000 per week by waiting until the end of the season!
Liverpool obviously believe this as they're looking at players like Pjanic to replace him! Also with an addition to a winger, they can at least begin replacing Syerling and Gerrard!
I could be wrong but it just makes sense... Especially if we get £50m for Sterling!

    ReplyDelete
  38. There is no chance of us getting £50m for Sterling when he is earning 40k a week and has two years left on his contract.

    ReplyDelete
  39. You think FSG are even going to bother thinking twice after the financial outlay this season?

    ReplyDelete
  40. Remember when Rafa said Alonso was not being sold? What happened?

    ReplyDelete
  41. I will celebrate if we get at least one player out of that list, but liverpool being liverpool, I wouldnt hold my breath

    ReplyDelete
  42. Not enough Im afraid. We need one more because Studge's injuries arent done yet, he will be missing more games next season as well.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yes and what about Samed Yesil as another back up?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Even more injury prone than Sturridge and has never even featured for the 1st team has he?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Nice, waiting for the rest of the verse..boom ka--kaa kaa ka boom ka...and the beat goes one

    ReplyDelete
  46. Lets try keeping him for now since our mercenary sterling is going. wouldnt want too many new faces at once

    ReplyDelete
  47. I got an acquaintance who is friends with an agent which so happens to know Sterling's agent (cliche I know).

According to him Sterling is definitely not signing a new contract. Before anyone asks I don't have concrete evidence, just sharing what I was told.

So if this is true then I would sell him this summer for £50M and sign a replacement.

PS Pjanic is nowhere worth the 37M Euros & 160K a week. I get a very Lallana feeling with him, not totally of course.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Disagree, our attack has manpower problems (DS and Balo) not firing enough, Boriniand Lambert well the less said the better

    ReplyDelete
  49. We played this formation start of the season and got hammered most of the time.

    ReplyDelete
  50. can get £25 at most-what we paid for Lallana and who is this, Lovren. Yuck

    ReplyDelete
  51. I agree with you here Logan but what his current wages got to do with how much we could sell for?

    ReplyDelete
  52. The fact that Balotelli has at times not even made the bench suggests that he is a problem child.

Biggest mistakes this season in the following order.

    1. Balotelli £16m
    2. Lallana £25m
    3. Lovren £20m

= £61m could have been better spent.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Let me ask you this.

Why did FSG make Suarez our highest earning player as soon as they knew he was leaving?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Not having a go but no details? He wants to move on in the summer? Is there the possibility that his agents business situation will be sorted by the summer and Sterling will sign with a new agent or something? Signing a five year deal now with this lad would maybe tie him down too much to this fool and so he is waiting to see what happens?
    I am ever the optimist.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Or anyone else for that matter...

    ReplyDelete
  56. Perhaps to try and keep him st the club? For as long as possible? Why what is your theory?

    ReplyDelete
  57. I know, it's unbelievable. It's not even like he has one niggling injury, they're all seperate injuries. Hip this time. The lad must be made of bogroll from the waist down

    ReplyDelete
  58. That's because we played without a proper DM.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Lets see, I expects to see us gradually reverting back to 4231. BR will get it late though, as always.

    ReplyDelete
  60. When he threw his toys out of the cot when he could not move to Arsenal?

Oh no, FSG never knew that Suarez wanted to or was still planning on leaving. NEVER!!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. So back to my question. What does Sterling's current wages have to do with how much we sell him for. You have gone straight to sarcasm without explanation.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Would Barcelona have paid us what they did if Suarez's contract was not worth what it was after being made our highest earner? Barcelona, really? The most difficult club to do business with?

Why make a player your highest earner when he had made it perfectly clear that he wanted to leave 6 months before?

Why would anyone want to pay £50m for a player when they look at his remaining contract at 40k a week over 2 years?

Unless Sterling has a clause in his contract that says when he is sold he will be sold for £50m or nothing. If FSG did not make Suarez sign a new contract then all we would have gotten is £40m which was the confirmed buyout clause by John Henry.

I do not think I need to explain myself any further regarding this matter.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Suarez still had ages on his contract. He signed a new one nit long before so length is not as much of an issue. The top earner thing might give some leverage. A clause is the obvious thing, I suppose that I should have gotten that from what you were saying but don't know whybyou said what he earns rather than mentioning a clause specifically. It does suggest the club are not convinced they will lose Sterling though as they would have just given him the extra dough, inserted a clause and make the money in the summer.

    ReplyDelete
  64. My mate's grandad says he can feel it in his bunions that Sterling will stay and they're never wrong so I'm not worried

    ReplyDelete
  65. Wages does matter when selling a player. Higher wages, higher transfer fee.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Sorry mate, absolutely no idea...

    ReplyDelete
  67. The wages have nothing to do with it but rumours Real Madrid and Bayern are looking at him amongst others mean we should command a large price.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Just think Logan age he has a lot more seasons ahead than for example Suarez its not like he is 32 and nearly finished.

    ReplyDelete
  69. No awful formation and we dont have the players to pull it off.

    ReplyDelete
  70. I wonder if these injuries have to do with England handling his training badly.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Here's how we do business this summer:

    OUT:
Lambert (we can get maybe 4m for him)
Borini (8m for him, maybe he'd do better in the Serie A)
Enrique (8m, there's surely a few teams that could use him)
Sterling (50m to City or Arsenal or RM, nothing less.)
Iaspas (6m, the less said the better)
Alberto (5m, no need to keep him around)
Kolo (5m, he's not what he used to be)
    Jones (4m. He's washed out)
Yesil (5m. Injury prone and not good enough to break into the team, but a few clubs in Germany might want him)

With this we get 95m to spend, plus potential CL money (up to 40m available if we can clinch 4th this season and make it past the group stage). Add to that the money we get from Johnson and Gerrard's contracts expiring, and we get about 15m per year of money saved. And, of course, the usual circa 30m budget we have for new signings. That makes 140m to spend without Champions League money. Oh, and we keep Balotelli. He's a better Plan C than Lambert or Borini ever were, and he shows glimmers of form every now and then (could eventually show us real form).

    IN:
Depay/Vietto/Lacazette (Anywhere from 25-40m for one of these. Need urgently. Leaves us with 100-115m)
Pjanic (Looks like he'll cost somewhere around 40m. Necessary purchase. 60-65m left)
Xhaka (Very skilled, young, and proven, would cost about 20m. 40-45m left)
    Mathew Ryan (10m. 20-35m left)

Spend the remaining money either on other young talent to fill the ranks, or make another big signing with the money.

    WHAT WE DO:
Change between 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3, and 3-5-2 as necessary, playing Xhaka or Pjanic where Gerrard used to play depending on the situation, with Henderson partnering. Xhaka can alternatively play in a more forward role if a team is too physical for Coutinho.

Sturridge, Balotelli, Origi, and the new Young Starlet (be it Depay, Vietto, or Lacazette) can fight it out to see who plays and when. Sturridge as the first choice but droppable (and will get injured at some point), Origi and Vietto/Depay/Lacazette rotating depending on form, Balotelli to shake things up when we need to press high and hard and as backup, and if Sinclair does well wherever we loan him, we recall him and give him a shot, like we did for Ibe.

The defenders can rotate as necessary, with Skrtel, Sakho, Lovren, Ilori, and Can fighting for CB, Moreno at LB, and Manquillo/Flanagan at RB.

These past few seasons have really built squad depth, with the additions made above we can challenge for the League Title again and make it past the group stage at the CL. There's hope yet for this season.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I don't think he trained with England. Think he picked up the injury in the Man U game, turned up for England duty and they sent him for a scan where the injury was discovered. I feel for the lad because he can't help it and he must be gutted but from a fan's perspective it's very frustrating

    ReplyDelete
  73. Cheers Chirag. Nice to get a direct answer to a direct question.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Jones and Kolo are out of contract. Plus any million for Jones would be unlikely.

    ReplyDelete
  75. What a crock

Do you want to put your money where your mouth is?

    ReplyDelete
  76. Gives us about 10m less to spend, but we're still fine on getting those 4 main signings done.

    ReplyDelete
  77. No player under 25(? or it might even be older) can buy out their contract.

I think at 25 (or whatever the age) you can buy out last year. Over 28(?) you can buy out last 2 years.

It was part of the Bosman ruling. I read about it a long time ago, but know for certain young players aren't able to do it. In fact, the younger the player the more protection there is for clubs.

For whatever reason virtually no players ever exercise this option anyway. Don't know why.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Get back to me after Arse game

    ReplyDelete
  79. The name 'Suarez' comes to mind... :)

    ReplyDelete
  80. We are 9 pionts ahead of 8th place with vastly better goal difference, so would have to drop 10 points even if Swansea and every team above them won all their games.

    Kneejerk much?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Did I say 8th I meant 7th how much do I owe you?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Ha ha still a bit too gloomy for me!

    ReplyDelete
  83. Good thing he's in the Ukraine.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Does Anderson bite ?

    ReplyDelete
  85. Cheers bud. I really have no idea about all that stuff. Good to get some info.

    ReplyDelete
  86. Suarez was on £100k/wk. We can never be sure but plenty of online sources (tsmplug is the best one for salaries) say that. Pretty much accepted that Stevie has always been the top earner ever at the club on £140-150k/wk.

I don't think a current salary has any reflection on transfer value. Harry Kane just signed a £40k/wk 5 yr contract, that's what Sterling is on, does that mean they go for less than some other 20/21yr old already on £100k/wk?

In fact, the lesser the current salary the more attractive the player is. A transfer is budgeted on transfer fee + wage outlay over the course of the contract. It's just simple budgeting. If you have £50m to spend on a target then you will *always* have to match or exceed that salary to tempt them. (Hence why so many players counter-intuitively sign a new contract in the season before leaving - an increase on yoiur current wage is a guarantee that the next wage will be higher.) So, £50m to spend, player is already on £200k/wk. If they sign a 5yr contract then that's your budget gone. Sign a player currently on £49k, double them to £80k, you still have £30m for the transfer fee.

The higher the current wage, the less attractive/affordable the player is.

But, in most cases the wage reflects the players impact/influence on the pitch, so for players over (about) 23 or 24 the salary has already caught up with the player's ability as they've signed at least 1 or 2 renewals.

    ReplyDelete
  87. LT you should post more often. Insight is in short supply around these ways.

    ReplyDelete
  88. On a 100k a week when he signed for LFC in 2011, signed a new contract in 2012 and then again at the end of 2013?

    ReplyDelete
  89. Sell for 50, Depay/Yarmo for 20, spend other 30 on a FW and a GK. Sounds good to me. :P

    ReplyDelete
  90. I blame Johnson

    ReplyDelete
  91. Sorry that was a typo mate, fixed it. Your maths stack up, it;s the reasoning I disagree with.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Surely not sacking BR was the BIGGEST mistake ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  93. Out of respect for the club. Mkhitaryan nearly did it for joining Liverpool.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Reasoning about what? The fact that Suarez wanted to leave, was our highest earning player and is the reason why we got mega bucks for him?

    ReplyDelete
  95. Maybe that is what FSG are pondering now...

    ReplyDelete
  96. Please don't bring back painful memories. Without doubt Rafa's lowest point for LFC.

    ReplyDelete
  97. As well thought out as the above may be Gus, we can't keep rebuilding the WHOLE squad every summer. It simply does not work. And in any case, would you trust BR with another £100m?

If a clear-out is required in the summer, I would suggest you start with BR.

    ReplyDelete
  98. On a slightly different tone on the Sterling in/out issue - if Sterling were to leave in the summer, should we as fans simply accept that LFC can no long realistically win the EPL or CL?

My reasoning being that if we cannot hold on to our best players how can we create a winning team. Most probably from FSG's point of view it's just again about maximising profits.

    Thoughts?

    ReplyDelete
  99. Jeez, you really do spout some rubbish Glen.
he averages 35 games every season, and has had NO major injuries.
What do you base that on?

    ReplyDelete
  100. Maximise profits when they recently made a interest free loan to the club of £115m to start the expansion of Anfield?

The owners are making nothing from LFC at this point. The only way they will ever make their money back is if the selling price exceeds whatever they have put in once they do sell.

FSG = LFC's interest free bank at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  101. There is no doubt every team which has had success of recent years in these competitions have been built on a foundation of players.
There is every probability all of these teams have had to fight to keep the foundation there after all good players are always in demand.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Annoying when that happens, get something in your head then it bugs you and bugs you... :(

Had to look it up. I was right...and I was wrong...

It's similar to Bosman, but not Bosman. It's called the Webster ruling:

"any player who signed a contract before the age of 28 can buy himself
out of the contract three years after the deal was signed. If he is 28
or older the time limit is shortened to two years"

    ReplyDelete
  103. We wont get anywhere near your quotes for most of them and we wont get anywhere near 95 million to spend maybe 40 plus sales.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Logan you make a valid point, and much like you I do not see FSG in a negative light.

However, my concern is are we able to sustain a team capable of winning titles. Simple case in point after selling Suarez we had an almost similar season to Spurs last year, after they sold Bale.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Are the director's (relatives and buddies?) not taking salaries?

    ReplyDelete
  106. I take offense to that, Jay.

    ReplyDelete
  107. I think the general consensus in that we only want to sell our best players. They're the ones you want to get rid of

    ReplyDelete
  108. Papier Mâché is more like it

    ReplyDelete
  109. Just to get this out there, Sterling will nit be getting sold for fifty million. Thos figure was just Pellegrini using hyperbole. Let's stop talking about it like it is a serious valuation.

    ReplyDelete
  110. Papier Mâché is more like don't you think :(

    ReplyDelete
  111. Oh, come now. We all know there is no hyperbole in modern football. Sterling's a genius world-beater who is better than Ronaldo, and might even be the second coming of Christ.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Lazio gave him a new deal to secure a big transfer fee.A new contract means nothing. It wouldn't surprise me if Felipe Anderson left this summer.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Can Neymar handle a cold Wednesday night at Stoke?... Only if the Premier League lets him play with a Eskimo coat on.
Liverpool should forget about stadium expansion.Make a bid for Neymar instead:-)

    ReplyDelete
  114. Miralem Pjanic to Liverpool? Yes please! 37m is a starting price for negotiation on their side.We lowball them and both side meet somewhere in the middle.
I think we can get Pjanic for cheaper than €50m.Maybe in the £25-30m range.I think that's what they sold Erik Lamela for.
When a President says "We're businessmen, if someone comes in with a stupid number for a player, you have to listen to it.You just can't say no, no matter what"
That clearly suggests a deal could easily be reached.

    ReplyDelete
  115. It would be nice to have someone to share the burden sometimes

    ReplyDelete
  116. The thing is he is worth more to us than say fourty million so fifty from our point of view is right but to someone buying a players fifty is far too much. So I just can't see this happening in any way. But people keep parroting it like it is a done deal.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Pjanic is an absolute gem of a player and has amazing skill. But, do not know if his goalscoring talents are good enough. We need a regular outlet of goals. With Sturridge always injured and Balo out of favour, we have no one to do that. That is the ultimate priority. CDM is also a very important position to fill. Allen cannot be a starter at the club as Jaimie has regularly stated. Kovacic or Pjanic could fill that but we might need a destroyer in the Vidal mould.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Or he is lightweight and only has pace. He cannot control the ball, pass, shoot or cross properly and has zero tactical awareness.

If it wasn't for his heading ability and the fact that everyone else was so bad he wouldn't even be in the side.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I didn't think you were that old Stu.

    ReplyDelete
  120. I think you've gotten Sterling confused with Stirling.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Don't bring money into it

    ReplyDelete
  122. And he's English.

    ReplyDelete
  123. That seems a bit sturdy. I was actually thinking bogroll was a bit generous. Wet bogroll maybe...

    ReplyDelete
  124. I just wish they would index link my pension to Sterling's valuation.

    ReplyDelete
  125. In that case, his value is £70+

    ReplyDelete
  126. That's a good rough estimate, give or take £100M. Actually, only give.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Please read my comment properly before you attack me . I was referring to Yesil !

    ReplyDelete
  128. The myth I hate about Sterling is that he is 'one dimensional'. The kid has played every position bar centre-half and goalkeeper. He's probably our most flexible player so how people have come up with the idea he's one dimensional is beyond me

    ReplyDelete
  129. Right. But we are on the good side of the English scam people keep falling for. If a rich club like say PSG become interested, we can jack up the price. Maybe not 50M, I wouldn't be surprised at 35-40M.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Yeah thanks I forgot he can only play on the wing and is no good defensively

    ReplyDelete
  131. But in every position he plays, we see the SAME exact thing. He can't finish as a FW, can't really control properly for an AM, and his pass weight is off a lot. He has some good direct speed, and a decent eye for a good incisive pass/cross, but that's about it. Flexibility doesn't mean multi-dimensional.

    ReplyDelete
  132. I bet he takes a good penalty though.......

  133. Name me another twenty year old close to being at Sterling's level?
Yannick Bolasie is one dimensional... Aaron Lennon, Andros Townsend... They are all one dimensional players. Raheem Sterling is not

  135. What's Russia got to do with it, Gimio Chin?

  136. The difference between Raheem and those guys is quality. He's better at what he does, but he still does the same things every attack, with the occasional spark of brilliance.

Personally, I don't think it's because he doesn't have the capability. It's similar to the contract problem. He thinks what he's doing is good enough, when at his age, it should be about improving.

  137. Thats a fair comment. But it goes to prove my point that the two are incomparable, stat wise..

  138. I totally agree with you Stan.Production comparisons from different European leagues are pointless.Just saying Italy is no easy stat boosting haven.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Yeah I see that, and agree with you... I'd hate to be a striker in Italy...

  140. Let the locals watch him on TV. Totally agree. Although the lack of Premier League experience worries me ;)

Same reason I've never texted Ian Ayre to bid for Iniesta and Ronaldinho.

  141. Is it wrong to hope...? ;)

  142. We are being linked with strikers like Lacazette, Luis Adriano and Vietto so there is hope

  143. Shocked to see that only NautralRed have responded to the shocking lack of sportsmanship Adriano showed in the CL. What is going on fellow reds? You don't care abut fair play?

  144. A good back up maybe, I don't really know as I have no real knowledge of this guy past the few articles I've read.... One thing is for sure though, we need to replace Sturridge as our main striker... The guy is like brittle sugar candy and can't be relied upon for a sustained title charge.

  145. Reminds me of an incident last year when in the league cup a similar goal was scored, only the ref fixed it, by fixing the match and allowing the opposition to walk the ball in as recompense...

    ReplyDelete
  146. I'm suprised he got a match ban for it... Although sad, it's not in the rules that a team has to give the ball back...

  147. LFC are one of the fairest teams in England, won the fair play league last seasn.....WE're not used to it at LFC...He'd probably be better off at Chelsea or Utd...

    ReplyDelete
  148. We need a couple if you ask me... Origi is far from ready to lead our goal threat, and Sturridge is too brittle.... Ings would be a great shout.... But I like Paco Alcacer too!.. But we still need a ready made goal threat in his prime...

  149. I like this kid,,, Definately on my list.
