'LFC will look at him': Legend claims Liverpool want to sign 'fantastic' £20m midfield star. Game over for Lucas and Allen?

Last month, Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin reiterated once again that he wants to leave Southampton, and Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes that Liverpool will be at the head of the queue to sign him during the January transfer window.

In November, Schneiderlin told reporters:

"I just turned 25, I turned a corner. I want to play for a big club as a career passes quickly. Today I am in Southampton [but] I will make the choice. I will see with my club"

On Monday, Neville named £20m-rated Schneiderlin ahead of Cesc Fabregas in his Premier League team of the season, and insisted that the coveted midfielder will be 'bombarded' with offers in January. He told Sky Sports:

“Liverpool will look at him, Arsenal will look at him, Manchester United will be looking at holding midfield players and Tottenham. Four clubs who all might fancy Schneiderlin.”

Liverpool are crying out for a quality holding midfielder, and Schneiderlin certainly fits the bill, but the Reds have already financed Southampton's surge up the table (to the tune of £50m). As such, another £20m+ could conceivably allow Ronald Koeman to strengthen even more, and solidify - at LFC's expense - a place in the top four.

Is Schneiderlin worth that risk? He's an important player for Southampton, but I'm sure many LFC fans thought that the loss of Lallana, Lovren, and Lambert would be be a fatal blow, but the Saints don't seem to be missing those three at all.

The other option is to forget about signing another holding midfielder and keep Lucas. The Brazilian is enjoying who a minor resurgence at Anfield right now, but it's more out of necessity than design, and the Brazilian is still very much on the exit list.

For the right price, Schneiderlin - hailed by Koeman as a 'fantastic' player - is a good target, for the following reasons:

* Proven Premier League performer.
* Upgrade on Lucas, and Joe Allen.
* 25, so coming into his prime years.
* Has the ability and experience to make an immediate impact.
* Rarely injured (One 15-day absense in the last 5 years)
* Averages 38 games per season over the last 6 years.

£20m is too much, though, and Liverpool should be wary about splurging big bucks on players from comparatively smaller clubs. Since arriving at Anfield, Lallana, Lambert, and Lovren have all struggled with small-club mentality, and there's a risk that the same may happen with Schneiderlin.

Right now, he's a fairly big fish in a small pond, but at Liverpool, he'll be a small fish in a big pond, and if he buckles under the pressure, it could prove to be a costly mistake for the Reds.

On the plus side, Schneiderlin has made seven appearances for France, one of the world's top national teams, so that may stand him in good stead.

Should Liverpool pursue Schneiderlin in January?

  1. Swap Joe Allen

    ReplyDelete
  2. Ayoze Perez 12m bid or Diafra Sakho 14m

With Borini leaving for 5m to Lazio and Balotelli leaving to Samporia for 8m
we will be able to afford it

Both strikers are not the best option Lacazette who i do not think will be willing to join us
i think big strikers like Bony,Martinez are risks as they don't have explosive mobility so might not fit in better not to take risks

I honestly do not know who i prefer Sakho or Perez , Perez is younger but Sakho is so fast like Sturridge...

    But no Berahino,Ings or Austin

    ReplyDelete
  3. Yes because Southampton are mugs?

No tehy are not ,Their efficiency in the market is unbelievable , Joe Allen is useless to them they have Davis who is similar but better

Tadic,Mane,Alderweild,Betrand,Forster , Pelle, Wanyama, Lovern (for 8m), Rodrigueze
they are miraculous in the market , spurs have taken their scout i wish we did
and got rid of Edwards and Fallows the Man city rejects

    ReplyDelete
  4. I wouldn't mind losing 7-10 million.

    ReplyDelete
  5. So after 2 months of Bony Bony Bony Bony you suddenly decide he's a risk- strewth

    ReplyDelete
  6. In Football opinions change quickly
    You always learn every day

Bony will be a signing i want but can he fit in teh way Rodgers wants is a different question
if we get Koeman as manager i can see Bony being very sucsessful liek Pelle

    ReplyDelete
  7. I don't believe he'll ever come to LFC, Brendan just ain't into the
right players... and in no way would he be a small fish at LFC... The
guy is a French International....and wasily one of the best Midfielders
in the Premier League, even if it's only with Southampton... He would
get into any team in the Premier League easy...

    ReplyDelete
  8. B Rodgers should bring M Schneiderlin(25) to club for £17-£21M as he is a priority position that needs sorting. S Gerrard(34) and L Leiva(27) lack the energy, legs, mobility, bit of pace needed to cover ground and break up play well.

M Schneiderlin(25) may be DM but he is better Central Midfielder than all the centre Midfielders we currently have at club.

And Lallana(26) was not a signing that was needed: He was and is a Luxury player

Lambert(32) was sentimental signing and has struggled badly but will get games as we are still in the FA Cup and Carling Cup

M Schneiderlin(25) would bring some class quality protection to GK, Defence and team in the centre of the park. And as he has played with Lovren(25) for year and Sakho(24) for country he should not have a problem if both those two are our centre back partnership.

M Schneiderlin(25) is the reason Lallana(26) excelled last year for Southampton in the free role and why the likes of Davis(29), Tadic(26), Mane(22), Long(27) and Pelle(29) can excel in attack as Schneiderlin(25) does all the dirty work with Wanyama(23) in the middle of the park.

B Rodgers needs to spend : £80M on these 4 Top Class players in January: So the equivalent of £20M per Player:
GK DM WC CM Mobile Fast Pacey Forward

A Begovic(27) Of Stoke needs to be brought for £10-£15M GK
M Schneiderlin(25) Of Southampton needs to be brought for £17-£22M
    I Rakitic(26) Of Barcelona for £22-£28M
    P Aubamayeng(25) Of Borussia Dortmund for £12-£17M

    ReplyDelete
  9. No Berahino Austin or Ings but D.Sakho and Ayoze Perez, even bigger risks. Pft. Another one who treats this like manager mode on Fifa 08

    ReplyDelete
  10. Good Teams with ambitions do not want our dead wood average players, they want our best players. And Southampton are not stupid they have Ward-Prowse(20) and S Davis(29) who both are better than J Allen(24) playing his role. So that would be a NO GO

    ReplyDelete
  11. Not sure I get your meaning with Lallana, Lallana was the number 1 target, which suggests he was more than just a luxury signing, and he is showing that with aplomb right now....
Aubamayeng couldn't hit a house at the moment, let alone the back of the net... He isn't exactly lighting up Bundesliga at the moment either.....You be better taking a punt on Sharawaay for the measily £11.5 milan want for him... If we didn't need Lallana, we definately don't need Rakatic... Looks like yuour letting a good game of Fifa corrupt your season of reaklity with your list of targets, but no harm dreaming...

    ReplyDelete
  12. If Lovren is so "top class" he should not struggle as badly as he has and Moreno has been great when he has played bar 2 mistakes in 2 games we did not deserve to win in the slightest anyway. But hey forgotten you were the transfer director.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Me everytime this kiddo comments^

    ReplyDelete
  14. 1 miostake, Newcastle was no mistake, he was left hanging by our top class Lovren..

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yeah thought i was being a little harsh.

    ReplyDelete
  16. The only thing you learn is what transfer budget you have been given by the Fifa gods each day.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Lallana(26) was main target, when Kroos(24), Fabregas(27), Sanchez(26) were available?

Lallana(26) is top class player but he is not world class, Rakitic(26) is and is needed as him by himself is would offer team more class, creativity and goals from centre of park than J Henderson(24) and J Allen(24) any day of the week.

I Rarely play Fifa and how can you say anything about Aubamayeng(25) when we have 3 fit strikers who between them have not scored over 8 goals so far this season? ( Balotelli(24), Borini(23) and Lambert(32) )

Aubamayeng(25) may not score as much as Sturridge(25) but he would bring the same mobility, maybe more pace and speed and score more goals than any other attacking player we currently have at club.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Morgan schniderlian
    Lacazette
    Ochoa

These signings would help liverpool immensely

    Sell
    Lucas
    Borini

    ReplyDelete
  19. Sell Allen, Borini, Johnson, Skrtel, Lovren at all costs.

    ReplyDelete
  20. You lot are funny, Lovren(25) has struggled so far at club but when we get Class Top Commanding GK behind Him and a mobile DM who actually can move across pitch, covers ground well and breaks up play and protects back four and defence well we will get too see the best of Lovren(25).

    Our Liabilities in defence are : G Johnson(30), M Skrtel(30) and K Toure(33)

Moreno(22) has made more than 2 mistakes, Man City Goal away, Newcastle winner away. Rooneys first Goal in 3 0 Loss where was he? How did J Allen(24) end up playing as LB?

    ReplyDelete
  21. What is funny is the fact you think all these world class players will come to Liverpool with open arms and start making sweet music with Kolo Toure.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Unfortunately when Toure goes to ACN there's every chance Lovren will be back in the side

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hopeully Can impresses again against Leicster.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Kroos, Fabregas, come now.. atleast pretend your not playing football manger... These players may have been available, but not for Liverpool at this moment in time.... Maybe when we are consistantly challenging at the top and in Europe... Until then, it's pointless suggesting LFC are missing out....because honestly, we were never in the running.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Check out his goal scoring stats for the last couple of seasons...

    ReplyDelete
  26. The same back 3 for next 3 games I hope

    ReplyDelete
  27. Now we are talking.

I am sure, there is a country context on particular positions - Spain produces AMs for fun, Latins are born with touch, Italians are defenders, Germay is unique for producing "German" footballers, ......England in physical hacks - the French are super rich in DM position. Almost every French side plays with a couple of DM/CMs & they have abundance of talent there. This boy Morgan Sch...... made the French squad over 10/12 DMs, any of whom can solve BR's DM problem (& 'll do better than SG, in that role).

May be 12mn+ Allen, still a better deal.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Can was great lastnight, calm and assured, definately what we need.. fingers crossed he stays there happily...I hope Brendan doesn't mess with that line up and insist on |Gerrarsd staring, Hendo is so much better without having to protect Gerrard.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Nothing to do with last nights game then

    ReplyDelete
  30. As the game flows players fill in for eachother, doesn't make it Moreno's fault because Allen got megged, and it was Lovrens mistake at Newcastle that cost us that goal, not Moreno stretching with all his might to get to a ball that shouldn't have even arrived had Lovren been in p[osition...

    ReplyDelete
  31. A keeper and a goal scorer should be priority. He is good but not above those two priorities.

    ReplyDelete
  32. our only priority

    ReplyDelete
  33. Is R Sterling(20) a striker? No? Why is he played there for? His mobility, movement, pace, pressing, speed and to stretch teams

Otherwise we have 3 players who actually play that position warming our bench, P Aubamayeng(25) would score 10-18 goals a season playing for us with his mobility, pace and speed in attack.

And in summer we should have been going for the best of the best, if our club is ambitious and want to SERIOUSLY Challenge the big guns for trophies year in out the : B Jones(32), K Toure(33), G Johnson(30), L Leiva(27), J Allen(24), F Borini(23) and R Lambert(32) type players should be nowhere neat club.

If we want to compete with best we need to bring in the best players who earn the big money as they do the business

Its reason we are currently 8th and not in top 4, we have too many average players within Squad and not enough class or world class players.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Was Lacazette who everyone is banging on about a striker?
    Ws messi a striker?
    was rvp a striker?

You acn dvelop wingers as talented as sterling into striker

    ReplyDelete
  35. RVP was 2nd striker, Messi is winger who has knack for banging them in.

Apart from the world class wingers in world football who consistantly score 10- 20 or more goals a season ( Messi(27), Ronaldo(29) and Robben(30), Pedro(27), Sanchez(26) )

What other wingers score close to that amount of goals a year?

    ReplyDelete
  36. Henry was not banging them in from out wide at Juventus was he now?

    ReplyDelete
  37. RVP was a winger when he arrived at arsenal

    ReplyDelete
  38. It Was Moreno's Fault the Newcastle Goal, he should have blasted it clear instead of trying to control it which let Perez (21) punish us

    ReplyDelete
  39. It was Johnsons fault
teh team was in atatcking transition Johnson got the ball took a stupid shot left right flank exposed
    and tehy countered

    ReplyDelete
  40. Henry was unique footballer, He was player who A Wenger moulded into super star.

You cannot just get every winger who has pace, speed , skill and say yeah you can be a striker it doesn't work that way.

None of our midfielders now look like they can score over 15 goals each a season?

Sterling(20) is doing well for the side as the 3 other strikers we have are simply not fitting system and do not have the mobility, movement, pace or speed Sterling(20) offers side in attack

    ReplyDelete
  41. Apart from A Wenger in Premiership who knows how to convert top wingers into world class strikers what other manager has done that?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Sterling has 3 goals in 5 games as a striker
and as proved vs man u he gets in great positions

He loosk decent up front , i have seen hazard paly up front and look completly lost even Schurlle
but Sterling seems to Have some striker instincts that Hazrd and Schurlee dont

    ReplyDelete
  43. well rodgers did play sturridge up front

when Di Matteo.AVB,Ancelotti were paying him out wide

    ReplyDelete
  44. Sterling(20) has done remarkably well considering he is not a striker, but R Sterling(20) is better creating chances for others than taking them himself and he is best playing out wide or in the Hole as AM

    ReplyDelete
  45. But Coutinho and Lallana are better at that
We really do not need three attacking midfielders

    ReplyDelete
  46. Sturridge(25) has always been a striker but due to the class and quality Strikers chelsea had whilst he was there they used his key attributes out wide.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm not even going to dignify this utter drivel with a formulated answer you arrogant toss pot.

    ReplyDelete
  48. True but Rodges at least gave him a chance there

    ReplyDelete
  49. Are you lost?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Sterling(20) has the pace and speed Coutinho(22) do not have which makes him a threat anywhere in attack, out wide or central.

Whereas Coutinho(22) and Lallana(26) do not have the pace or speed to be real threat from out wide.

But in the middle they are dangerous all the time

    ReplyDelete
  51. Yes but where does Sterling fit in new formation otehr tehn up front
Coutinho and Lallana are betetr cams
and Sterling should not play wing back role

    ReplyDelete
  52. Not Lovren
how can you write him off after 4 months he like msiot cbs need protection he said gerarrd does not support him enough
he has not palyed with Lucas apart from swansea

    ReplyDelete
  53. How long has Schneiderlin got left on his contract?

    ReplyDelete
  54. He is a boyhood lfc fan
    did you know that?

    ReplyDelete
  55. No I didn't but do you know how long he's got left on his contract?

    ReplyDelete
  56. I agree with you he is unplayable

    ReplyDelete
  57. Haha, everyone is a boyhood lfc fan until money comes into the equation

    ReplyDelete
  58. Liverpool are no longer a big club, get over it one season does not make Liverpool a big club and haven't been for along time. Like the song, Liverpool need hope!!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Alex Ferguson did it with Ronaldo

    ReplyDelete
  60. Mate sahko has only been playing here for 6 months, same with Perez and also they both have very little top level experience prior to joining West Ham and Newcastle, so these would be ill advised.
Personally Papis cisse would be a good option but only as an impact player and also bony

    ReplyDelete
  61. So whats your point ?
    when did i say otherwise?

But we are a big club
Big clubs make big money we do that we are 11th richest in world i think soi we are still a big club
only chelsea and man utd won more trophies then us last 15 years

    ReplyDelete
  62. Aubameyang is overated and only good on fifa, as for rakitic, forget it for atleast until the summer

    ReplyDelete
  63. Lallana is a number 10/ attacking midfielder, rakatic and fabregas are deep lying play makers/center midfielders so to compare those signing is ill advised as Lallana is a different type of player

    ReplyDelete
  64. Trading on the past. Man City were not a big club until the Arabs bought in. Chelsea could suffer in the future if the rouble continues to dive. How much debt has Liverpool got? If the FA pulled the plug on all the debt ridden clubs the top 3 would be bankrupt. Trouble is, the FA have t been honest and looked at the Accountants of these clubs moving money as the first under would be Man U. Look at the clubs who have no debts. Before, LFC supporters take the rib out of small club Soton look at the trash bought over the summer by LFC and Man U. Before you talk about earnings, look at debt.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Most definitely. I have been saying it for quite some time. I rate him above Wanyama but admit that in those two they have a top four midfield pairing. My worry is we don't at present. Hendo and Lucas just about, perhaps Can can be that in time but no other combination would start for our rivals and that worries me. I do think it would be the end of either or both of Allen and Lucas though but hopefully not Lucas until at least the summer.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Who is taking the rib out of Southampton?
Debt is not necessarily a problem as long as you can service it. Both the UK and USA are in debt but they are still big players in the World

    ReplyDelete
  67. 15 years is reasonable
    okay have 10 years

our debt was cancelled out in 2011 when henry took over to save us from royal bank of scotland

    ReplyDelete
  68. i thought we where dead against signing players who sell there selves out while under contract or is that only if they play for us.....serious double standards

    ReplyDelete
  69. On the pitch, Lallana's looked every bit as good as Fabregas so far this season, in as much as you can compare the two. He hasn't achieved as much in the game so of course Fabregas has earned everyone's respect, but Lallana has been extremely impressive.

    ReplyDelete
  70. that may well be the quote of the year '' Germany is unique for producing '' German '' footballers

    ReplyDelete
  71. Your point seems quite. Confused mate. Are you saying Soto have no debt at all? I Cn tell you we do have debt to the tune of around 200 million I think. Or at least it was heading that way last I checked. Is that important though? It is interest free as it was loaned from FSG the group that owns the club. We have been steadily increasing financial revenue and although the debt will increase with the stadium expansion it will also bring in more money when finished. We also have lots of tourism for the club. I don't live near the ground but go past regularly and see foreign visitors regularly. We have fans across the world. People who have to stay up to watch games early hours in the morning, filled stadiums in Australia and Asia. We haven't done much since winning the league cup other than last year's near heroics but we are a top flight team who have been that for quite some time and usually play football in Europe at least most season even if it is not the top competition. So whilst not being a big hitter like United, City and Chelsea there are lots of ways we could be considered a big club. Certainly more so than well.with all do respect Southampton.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Could be good (Lallana) could be bad (Lovren). It's hard to tell.

I think he would be better than Joe Allen but how much better isn't clear. Maybe Southampton would consider switching players if we give them some cash included.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Seriously

best comment ever made on this forum !

Wish you would debate with Logan like that

    ReplyDelete
  74. According to wiki he signed an extension until summer 2017.

    .

    ReplyDelete
  75. tehyw ould only consider swap if we offered Coutinho and Sterling
Trust they are the only two players that could have a bigger impact at southapton then Schniederlin

obviously i am not saying i will swap coutinho or sterling for him just saying allen etc southapton laugh at

being clear as people always misunderstand me

    ReplyDelete
  76. Surely Schneiderlin will go to Arsenal if he goes anywhere. Midfield is going to be top priority for them, he'd be a good fit, being French, and he'd be going to a better-established side. We have plenty in midfield.

Glass half full: Lucas has looked better since returning to the side. Perhaps he's finally shaking off his injuries. It may have been years since we last saw a fully fit Lucas. Allen is a capable deputy for Henderson, who's starting to play with conviction again. We have cover throughout the squad: Lallana and perhaps Coutinho could play at 8 -- he's spoken about it as part of Rodgers' vision of his game -- and Can can cover Lucas at 4. We need cover elsewhere but midfield is the least of our worries for now.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Quotes taken out of context he did not say he wanted to leave Southampton but that he would review the situation at the end of the season. If he goes it will be for much more than 20 and to a much bigger team.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Yep
Striekr is the main priority maybe a keeper

keep faith in lucas and Can at cdm
    manquillo at right back
Skrtel and Sakho at cenetr back

    ReplyDelete
  79. People who repeat mantras aren't prepared to debate.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I want us to sign all the keepers, just to be on the safe side. Maybe play them all at the same time, too.

    ReplyDelete
  81. You can say that again ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  82. Bigger team? We signed loads of players in the summer our squad is massive.

    ReplyDelete
  83. This is all pointless speculation as MS is not for sale.....Saints will not sell in January....we may buy but probably not....we don't need Liverpool's money...we have enough of it already....we don't want your second rate cast offs....we got rid of our own...some of them to LFC.....we buy who we need at a reasonable price while others buy indiscriminately for high prices.....or we grow our own talent...You have nothing we either need or want....Sorry lads but the game has changed and LFC isn't in it.

    ReplyDelete
  84. It's still football no?

    ReplyDelete
  85. Makes me wonder, though, what Lallana would be like in the middle alongside Henderson. What a workaholic midfield that would be. Two of the hardest-running players in the league.

And Lallana's so good on the turn, the thought of him receiving possession from the defenders, and winning space to progress up the pitch is rather appealing...

    ReplyDelete
  86. What about a part exchange in the summer? We buy aldereield from Madrid by outbidding you and you take Lovren back and twenty Mil for Schneids?

    ReplyDelete
  87. I am not sure about his passing range but I like him being closer to the goal to turn and have one twos with the other two.magicians.

    ReplyDelete
  88. What have you got against Danny Ings? He looks class every time I see him play. Great energy, touch, range of finishing, flair, strength on the ball, he's only 22. He also looks better when he plays with the quality of players in England's U21s, which suggests to me he could thrive in a more talented side than Burnley. I haven't seen much of Austin, he seems a pretty decent, average striker to me, but not one for LFC. Berahino, though, he looked like a real quality prospect until he lost form this season along with the personal difficulties he's got himself into. He's also put on weight and muscle, and lost some of the rapidity which brought him success last year.

But yeah, if you like mobility, Ings looks like one of the better young forwards around in Europe. Take a look at his goals against Forest and QPR last season and tell me you wouldn't like a bit of that at LFC.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Dear Boy,

You may outbid us for TA, in which case we look elsewhere for reasonably priced talent that will perform at the highest levels.....Bertrand, Tadic, Mane, Pelle for example.....we wont be selling MS now but we may in the summer.....We would take back Lovren only if Ronald Koeman wants him.....and frankly that's as likely as LFC keeping a clean sheet......the summer acquisitions have already been planned and a shortlist drawn up.....it will be finalised by Easter....I don't see Lovren among them......it doesn't suit our way of doing things.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Yeah, agreed. I do like seeing creative wrigglers like Lallana in that deeper position, though you don't see it much these days. Xavi might be the last of the great deep-lying wrigglers, though Jack Wilshere has something of the worm about him too.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Xabi could then do whatever he wanted with the ball. For me the wriggles are good but then you need to be releading someone.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Isn't Bertrand also on loan. I think Rodgers is also an admirer. Not that you and I can do the deal....earm....dear boy, but come on fourty million it would work out as for the french lad. Not bad. Personally I would just try and head hunt your scouts though. Seems to make more sense in the long run. Your academy too actually. There is a lot I like about Soto actually. Much easier when the fans don't get ahead of themselves though.

    ReplyDelete
  93. I was thrilled by the Swansea game and for Lallana. Maybe the Swansea game will be a turning point for him. Prior to that game though he has been largely ineffectual. So let's slow down a bit; 1 game doesn't make him Ronaldo and label him world class just yet. Let's see the next 19 games.
I don't think we have any chance of getting Rakitic, Bony or Schneiderlin in January. All their teams are doing great and they won't sell top talent and risk ruining a great finish..........not going to happen even though these guys would help us.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Wriggle and release. We should write a coaching manual. Can just hear youth coaches in a couple of years time screaming "Wriggle and release, Jordan! Wriggle and release!".

All youth footballers are called Jordan.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Allen is a stiff and should be nuked in January with Johnson, Jones, Lambert and Balotelli. I actually would keep Borini before Balotelli because Borini is in better shape, hustles more and gets himself in better scoring positions. He was a idiot getting two yellows vs Arnseal but apart from those two emotionally driven errors, he was hustling more than we ever have or will see from Balo........

    ReplyDelete
  96. It's an easy name, easy to speculate. He's proven himself in the PL so of course clubs will look at him. However I think you're right - the money is too much and Liverpool should look elsewhere. There are plenty of players out there who can do that job and although they may present more of a risk if they don't have PL experience I think it's generally fine to recruit the right player from outside England, not just a guy who happens to be doing well for another PL team at the moment.

Let's hang on to Lucas for now, he'll be happy that he's re-established himself in the team. If we can find better players in the transfer window then maybe we let him go but otherwise I think Liverpool do have good options in that position. Can, Allen and Lucas can all play there so it's not a crisis position. I'm not as worried about that position as many others seem to be.

  97. 10-15 Million, he is someone I've always wanted us to pick up so if the opportunity comes up for the right price then go for it.

  98. We could take a £10m hit and offer them Allen (£5m) + £10m cash = £15m.

  99. I would have said go after him last summer as I like him a lot but I think we have banged on the Southampton drum long enough. There are so many top class DM's available in the French and German leagues. Why else do we have scouts? Liverpool can hire me to watch all PL matches as I already do that. How can we be so parochial as to only look at the PL.

  100. I take it as complement.

However, by any chance, if it's not, then we 'll have to look back & think how some flair less, mechanical, machine like footballers win 4 WCs (make countless SF/Finals) & 3 Euro, wearing a simple white shirt with an eagle mark on chest.

  101. Good point and hopefully the club has many eyes on all the other major euro leagues; wouldn't you think?

  102. What is funny is i have said the club should bring in 4 top class players in January and only one of them at this current moment is world class.

    Its Fans like you who actually think our club should have average poor players like : B Jones(32), S Coates(23), K Toure(33), G Johnson(30), L Alberto(21), I Aspas(27), O Assaidi(26), J Allen(24), F Borini(23) and R Lambert(32) at club.

But when we are getting beat our anielated by even poor teams , your on here pipping up.

Those 4 players i have mentioned would should bring to club would walk in to many of the best sides in Europe, the dead wood average players we have on clubs books , our club are going to struggle to get off the books.

  103. What? How do you work that out? Fabregas(27) has been a consistant performer since he got back to Premiership, he has got the most assists this season so far and created the most chances/

And they think he is going to break Henry's(34) assist record this season.

So how can you even say that Lallana(26) has looked as good as Fabregas(27) this season?

    ReplyDelete
  104. Yeah i know that, But some fans on here claimed we do not need a Rakitic(26) because we have Coutinho(22) and Lallana(26).

But i think that is the one place we do need a world class player as this should be S Gerrard's Last(34) in all honesty and we do not have one world class centre midfielder at club.

I Rakitic(26) is a world class CM and would walk into most of the starting line ups of the best/top teams in Europe.

And he is finding out at Barcelona Like Alcantra(23) Of Bayern Munich and Fabregas(27) Of Chelsea found out that displacing Xavi(33) from the Barcelona first team unless he is unfit, injured or suspended is mission impossible no matter how good you are.

  105. It was Johnson(30) fault for losing the ball , but Moreno(22) was at fault for not clearing it and trying to take a touch which went straight to Perez(21) who punished us .

    ReplyDelete
  106. Aubameyang(25) would offer the club more class, creativity, mobility, pace and speed to our attack than M Balotelli(23), F Borini(23) and R Lambert(32)

And i am 95% sure he would score more goals a season than them also in our side/squad.

  107. Do we trust Rodgers to make the signings that we desperatley need......No this guy really is deluded and way out of his comfort zone. So far only Courtino and D/S are only players of quality with the latter nearly always injured. I hope LFC bring in a replacement for this so called manager, he really is a total embarrassment to this club.
