'It's good to hear, but...' Exciting £20m winger responds to LFC transfer rumours

Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Sporting Lisbon winger Carlos Mane, who is also wanted by Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, and (inevitably) Tottenham Hotspur.

According to Sky Sports recently:

"A number of Premier League clubs are following Sporting Lisbon's winger Carlos Mane.

"Liverpool..have been linked, and now his agents have confirmed there is some interest in him"

When asked about interest in the 19-year old, one of Mane's representatives claimed that he is 'aware of a number of clubs with real interest' who are 'keeping tabs on him', adding:

"A move to the Premier League is the ultimate goal for Carlos [with] one reason being that he has family in the UK already. Some Bundesliga and Serie A clubs [are] more advanced in their interest at this stage."

When asked over the weekend about his future, Mane welcome interest from the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, but made it clear he's only focusing on Sporting. He told reporters:

"It's always good to hear that big clubs are watching you, but I'm focused on the next game with the Selecao, we have to win."

Some info about Mane:

* 52 appearances for various Portugal Youth teams (11 goals)
* 4 goals in 13 games for Sporting Lisbon so far.
* Can play on either flank, and through the middle.
* Allegedly regarded as the 'best natural talent since C.Ronaldo'
* Sporting want £20m for Mane.

Mane reportedly see Mane as the 'new Cristiano Ronaldo' (aagh - enough of these stupid 'new' labels already!), and to be honest, if they want him that much then let Moyes spend £20m on an inexperienced, untested teenager with only 13 senior appearances to his name.

  1. In other news, Suarez said his future at Liverpool is not dependent on champions league. I really take this with a pinch of salt!

  2. But he won't be able to go anywhere anyway JH is going to hold players to their contracts - this requires an even bigger pinch of salt

  3. And also you would expect players to say that now Liverpool are in such a strong position, I doubt he would of said that if we were in united's position right now

  4. I guess if he says, "If we don't make top 4 then I will consider offers', a puts a lot more unnecessary pressure on everyone else.

  5. He said that last season as well lol! If we fail to qualify he will seek a move again.

  7. Firmino looks a more rounded player to me & Mane looks to be a striker imo. Playing in midfield in the prem, he'd have to improve his first touch because of the close attention but he's a good player no doubting that! Firmino is my number 1 on my wish list of LFC transfers though, he'd be brilliant in our side & i pray we go all out to sign him.
