Fulham 1-3 Liverpool: Embarrassing snub for 'outstanding' Reds star...?

Despite the absence of Daniel Agger, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers left'outstanding' Reds defender Martin Skrtel out of today's starting line-up.

The LFC twitter feed claims Skrtel misses out through 'illness', but if you believe that, you believe anything.

Joe Allen and Steven Gerrard repeatedly play with shoulder injuries but Skrtel is instantly out of the squad because he's ill?

The Slovakian doesn't look remotely ill during yesterday's training session:

 photo ScreenShot2013-05-12at145528_zpsf8b93a53.png

Must be one of those debilitating illnesses that, in a matter or hours, strikes down an incredibly fit sportsman in the prime of his career to the extent that he's too sick to even make the bench :-)

On Saturday, the Reds boss hailed Skrtel as a 'great professional' with 'outstanding focus', and claimed that Liverpool have 'no plans to sell' the Slovakian. He told Sky Sports:

"It has been unfortunate for Martin but he has been a loyal member of the squad and is still very much part of my plans here. He's got a winning mentality. It's just unfortunate he lost his place.

"It wasn't so much through his form, it was just I felt we needed more of an organiser and a leader. He is certainly a player we want to keep and we have no ideas of selling him. He is an important member of our group".

FULL TEAM: Reina, Johnson, Downing, Wisdom, Coates, Carragher, Lucas, Henderson, Shelvey, Coutinho, Sturridge

SUBS: B Jones, Enrique, Assaidi, Borini, Suso, Coady, L Jones

I doubt we'll see a 352 as Coates and Wisdom are not used to it, and it would be strange to suddenly change the club's standard formation. We'll probably see the following:

------------------ Reina

Wisdom ------ Carra ---- Coates ----- Johnson

------------------ Lucas

---------- Shelvey ---- Henderson

Downing ----------------------- Coutinho

---------------- Sturridge

Predicting a 2-1 Liverpool defeat, Reds legend Mark Lawrenson told the BBC:

"I think it will be an open game, because neither side can really go anywhere - Fulham are not mathematically safe but they are not in any real danger. Liverpool are without Steven Gerrard after his shoulder injury and I think the Cottagers might just edge it".

  2. Get a grip mate he's injured!!

  3. If you had done your research you would have realised Sktrel is ill, hence why he has not even made the bench. But any excuse to jump on the anti-rodgers bandwagon as you usually do...

Do your research he got a illness, so you wrote about "poor management" when you didn't know the full facts.

I think he must be injured. LLoyd Jones is on the bench... which just seems really bizarre if Skrtel was available. But you could be right. and if true - he is almost certainly gone.

Cant even see this formation lining up. 3 5 1 1 ? probably.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Skrtel isn't fit simple as that. As well as that I think with the season effectively being over giving some match time to Coates and Wisdom is smart. I actually would have liked to see Wisdom play centrally and maybe even see Ryan Mclaughlin get some match time.

  7. Whoops; Jamie made a boo boo!

  8. I don't believe that he's ill.

  10. I believe you are a fake fan

    ReplyDelete
  11. Why are you so upset with this, are you related to him or something?

    ReplyDelete
  12. This is such a non-story. If you think BR would rather play Coates over Skrtel, then you have lost your mind.

    ReplyDelete
  13. doesnt he just do that today? i just cant believe that hes ill...

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'd have liked Wisdom at CB.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Maybe since he is in Rodgers plans, he has nothing to prove unlike coates who does? I dunno...

  16. Outstandin leave it out

    ReplyDelete
  17. I would've liked to see what Coates, Assaidi and Borini have to offer as we approach the summer transfer window - assuming that Skrtel really is 'ill', and Enrique couldn't start, my starting line-up would've been:

    Reina

    Johnson-Wisdom-Coates-Downing
    Henderson-Lucas
    Sturridge-Coutinho-Assaidi
    Borini

    ReplyDelete
  18. Hopefully Assaidi gets a decent runout today and in our final game though anyways.

And a bit of Suso through the middle wouldn't hurt either...

    ReplyDelete
  19. Considering Skrtel has made only 2 starts in the league this year, do you think that would represent good man-management?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Carragher and Coates through the middle I was supposed to say...

    ReplyDelete
  21. No. I personally think we should get rid of him or give him a another chance to show why he deserves a place, but in terms of whats in Rodgers' mind and what he has said about Skrtel's future, I think this could have been his thought process. We can only speculate... :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Seriously are you suggesting Brendan isn't a good man manager Jamie? Shame on you, the club PR machine will be after you LOL. However given the fact he has made only 2 starts in 2013 how can you include 'outstanding' in the title. As for BR's spin about him not being for sale, what was he meant to say, he's been awful for me and it's only since I dropped him we've played well? I fully believe if we get a £10 million bid we'd sell him.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Conspiracy theory??

    ReplyDelete
  24. wonderfull goal by sturride. same for wisdoms longball to him.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You can't see the formation? It's quite simple, backline of Wisdom, Carragher, Coates, Johnson, midfield of Lucas, Henderson, Shelvey, Downing and Coutinho on the wings and Sturridge through the middle. This is the same formation as we always generally play with.

    ReplyDelete
  26. So to be clear you're either accusing BR of lying or that MS is refusing to play? If the former that's quite an accusation, if the former then we're well rid.
Alternatively, shocking as it might be, perhaps he is ill - but then that wouldn't suit your conspiracy theory.

    ReplyDelete
  27. really poor 1st half hope the seconds a lot better sturridge took his chance very well but apart from that poor game and as for bebotovs goal were was the marking free header and he did not even make a run lol

    ReplyDelete
  28. Please, stick to paraphrasing yourself rather than me. First, Rodgers hasn't said anything; it's on the LFC site. Second, I didn't suggest Skrtel refused to play - I suggested that he got into a strop after being ignored again, and that might have led to him being dumped from the squad. It's entirely possible, as is him being ill. I just don't believe he's ill, and I'm entitled to that view.

    ReplyDelete
  29. so why not start enrique then x_x sigh

    ReplyDelete
  30. incredible how little possession we had: 35%!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think there will always be times when players could make a better call. However the reason he does so well is that he wants that goal. Remember when Arsenal always tried to pass it into the net? What we have missed since Torres is a player who wanted to take a shot and gets himself into the box. Suarez is great but he more often than not picks the ball up from the edge of the box. Now we have a player who is scoring at a better rate than any other player in the Prem (not sure on RVP so maybe second best rate) and has had nothing but stick from all his old clubs fans when he was there, being called lazy and selfish. I just think it would be nice to show him a bit of love and make him feel wanted here. He is afterall on course to be the top striker in the prem, selfish or not.

Good win, coutinho and Sturridge are bargain for the price we payed for them, borini looked good when he came on good movement, hit the post he will be better next season. Scored 70 goals this season wow! :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. on the stream i was watching i think it was tony cascarino,he talked some right bollocks lol

    ReplyDelete
  39. for sky? it was paul walsh and i dont know who.kept going on about how jownson shouldve been sent off (what??) thought the yellow card was almost harsh. Then he kept going on about coates shouldve been off just before our second. couldve been a free kick but not much contact. if you dont mean this guy then sorry for my rant.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yep - that's the one. Thought I must have been watching a different game to the one they were commentating on, especially their description of Glen Johnson's tackle where he clearly was first to the ball!

    ReplyDelete
  41. i watched it on espn and iam sure it cascarino and he was going on about the coates tackle

    ReplyDelete
  42. jaimie question for you if we had been playing everton today and sturridge had not passed for the simple tap in which imo also meant two mins later when the boot was on the other foot shelvy should have done the same but probably remembered what at just happenso went for goal, and we ended up losing 3/2 surely we would have to ask the ? why both of them wasted glorious chances , by the way thought sturridge played really well today

    ReplyDelete
  43. I completely agree. I feel he is the type of player who would love to have fans singing his name after being in club after club where he just got stick

    ReplyDelete
  44. Sturridge looked sharp throughout the match except for in few occasions where he made a bad decision of not passing the ball, not a surprise though. As long as he keeps scoring we shouldn’t mind but in my opinion football is a team game and he should learn to play accordingly. Anyway, I was really surprised to see Coates, Shelvey, Wisdom getting the chance to play and they did very well. I don’t know why BR don’t play Coates too much. Yes, he had a terrible game against Oldham but so did everyone else. I think Coates is amazing talent and I would also like to see him play as Defensive Midfielder as he is good going forward with the ball. Fabio Borini looked very sharp as well and I hope to see him getting a start against QPR along with Sturridge in a 4-4-2 formation. I was very happy to see Conor Coady making his debut as I think he is surely one for the future and can play as CD, DM and MC.

Finally, I would like to say that we did it without Suarez, Gerrard, Agger and Skrtel. It was a fantastic win and we should have scored 5-6 goals easily but we got the 3 points nonetheless.

    ReplyDelete
  45. pretty sure mine was a sky one. Need to see that again but seemed like soft contact to me. Seen them given though, but never a red!

    ReplyDelete
  46. jaimie i see your banging on about selling suarez to the highest bidder and that we do not need him again(on facebook)no wonder sturridge can do no wrong if you build him high enough maybe more fans mite start to believe you, just one thing if suarez goe,s who,s going to be the next scapegoat

    ReplyDelete
  47. jackiethemagic5:25 pm, May 12, 2013

? well no it was 3 5 1 1. We've not really seen that before. Except for a few occassions like Chelsea. But I had expected Shelvey to play DM with Lucas and he didnt. And I was right - it was a crazy formation and they didnt control the game at all. Until of course, Wisdom came off and they returned to 4 3 3 / 4 4 2. But it was a bit of a nothing game anyway so i personally didnt mind him messing with the formation. Not to mention we won. So ... great. Fulham are woeful.

    ReplyDelete
  48. not unless its against man ure at old traffard lol

    ReplyDelete
  49. i thought foul - doesnt matter if you get the ball unfortunately you cant go in hard. But the commentator was saying how he "doesnt understand why players go for the leg not the ball"... what? clearly went for, and got the ball.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Some fans here suggest that DS is a selfish player. If being selfish has an end result of putting 3 goals behind the net in an away match, I sincerely pray for DS to be the most selfish player on the planet. It is too early to judge if he's going to be a good replacement for LS, somehow signs are suggesting that LS may not be missed that much after all. Now, all rich clubs listen up, put 50 mil pounds on the table and LS is all yours!

    ReplyDelete
  51. sounded like Tony Gale on the link I was watching.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Plenty of you have taken to scapegoating Sturridge for any of our lesser performances already, rather than saying he can do no wrong, so it seems JK will have to 'build him up' a lot more still!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Zenith were willing to pay more than Skrtel was worth in January. I dunno why we didn't take it then and save on his wages, but I've no doubt we could still get a reasonable for him in the summer

    ReplyDelete
  54. sorry m8 i have only given fair critisism of sturridge imo and i,ve also said when hes played well like today unlike jaimie about suarez

    ReplyDelete
  55. and who made you the spokesman of the fans are you the chairman of the son of shankly group or something selling suarez will send the message out that we will sell any player if you bid enough lets keep our best players get rid of the shite and add quality throuthout the squad

    ReplyDelete
  56. I rate him highly but I also feel that him & Coutinho playing together are going to propel the club forward. as he's setting up a lot of Sturridge's goals.
Not disagreeing with your comment on Sturridge, just throwing the little Brazilian wizard's contribution into the fray.

    ReplyDelete
  57. this is a stand off. if MS asks to leave, he gives up his pay off entitlement. if we accept an offer and he says he doesnt want to go, we must pay up the rest of the contract.
he's as good as gone come summer. should have bitten citys hand off last summer.

    ReplyDelete
  58. To be fair, in that situation (I'm guessing this is the 1-on-1 at 2-1) he isn't entitled to put his own desire to score ahead of the good of the team.

If we had a 2 goal cushion maybe, but not with only 1 goal, I think he has to give his team-mate the tap-in.
All's well that ends well, though.
It is a minor criticism, because Sturridge was sublime today.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Criticizing a striker for playing like a striker (rather than as a playmaker) is not a fair criticism imo.

Even on a day when he's scored a hattrick plenty of you would rather focus on his negative moments & hypothetical situations - irrespective of how inconsequential - instead of the many obvious, tangible moments of quality

    ReplyDelete
  60. suarez is going nowhere.with the 20 mill that brendan is supposably getting from fsg,15 mill for carroll,3 mill for spearing,5 for coates and who ever else he wants to off load i think he will have a pretty hefty transfer budgit, but thats only my opinion?

    ReplyDelete
  61. The one these fellas are talking about was Paul Walsh.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Sturridge was untouchable today. Absolutely fabulous performance.
Him and Coutinho seem to have a good understanding.
Then again, Coutinho appears to have a good understanding with everyone.
Nice performance from Reina too. Very commanding and a couple of great stops.
Johnson even seemed to wake up a bit today.
Fulham have been damn near diabolical both times we've played them this season, it has to be said.
Credit to Rodgers for changing the system at half-time and opening the game up.
I thought Wisdom looked good at centre-half.
Shelvey was shite. He seems to be getting worse with age unfortunately. If we can get decent money for him, I'd sell him.
I like spacing out my points.

    ReplyDelete
  63. my stream was paul walsh and he was talking out of his arse aswell.

    ReplyDelete
  64. no m8 it does not matter what your role is its a team game not an individuale sport

    ReplyDelete
  65. hes shit... we need to sell him sign alderweild or de vrij.

    ReplyDelete
  66. i agree with andrew... personally hes no good for this type of liverpool team

    ReplyDelete
  67. lol i may be wrong but i watched espn and he said the same things

    ReplyDelete
  68. Actually, it does matter.
Players in different positions have to perform different roles in order for a team to function effectively.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Reina did well and coates was pretty good (apart from their goal which was terrible from everyone). Its a shame hes barely played as we cant know for sure if he definitely needs to go.

    ReplyDelete
  70. hes an old fashioned ch unfortunatly he cant play with the ball at his feet (not the managers style).dont understand brendan saying hes going nowhere, unless its till he gets a replacement in.

    ReplyDelete
  71. and for the team to be effective you need to play as part of a team

    ReplyDelete
  72. The striker is part of the team.

And the team was effective today because Sturridge was effective in his role as a striker, looking to threaten the goal at every opportunity, and Coutinho was effective in his role as a play-maker in creating chances for Sturridge to finish off.

    ReplyDelete
  73. could of been casartrated in a blond wig?lol.

    ReplyDelete
  74. that was today what about a better side would you be happy if he blew a golden chance to square the ball to put us 3/1 up against man ure and end up losing 3/2

    ReplyDelete
  75. I'm not the spokesman for anyone. As far as I'm concern, LS is a disruptive influence to the club. After that racist episode, then came the biting episode, so what's next? But you are right! We need to add quality throughout the squad, with the sale of LS, we can get a couple of quality players for the team. Anyway, sidetrack a little, how much do you think Jordan Rhodes is worth? Surely not 35 mil pounds right?

    ReplyDelete
  76. what tackle? he never made one in 90 mins !!!! good idea to put him in the shop window. and on
that performence thats were he belongs . f"ckin dummy!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  77. rhodes not at all about 10 million suarez was not convicted of being racist and thats the bottom line, and i will say now (and no doubt i will be accused of being racist)but most fans can let it lay the fans that cannot are the bigger racist because it offends them that much they cannot forgive and forget, and if in true evra is such a saint a suggest they go support him at his club, terry did miles worse and they both served thier bans move on its forgotten (ps i remembergoing on a site and making a comment to which a member of the black lawyers of britton made a comment about on the suarez case to me, and my reply was what have the white lawyers of britton got to say about it,and i was told thier is not one and i,am being racist well if you can have a black one why not a white,to me colour is a word, its not about your skin all are welcome in my house black ,white, yellow green as long as there good people who gives a f"ck

    ReplyDelete
  78. i for one know he needs to go . ive seen milk turn quicker. their goal a free header in the six yard box . so were was he?? hes thats slow he should be playin vets football sell asap

    ReplyDelete
  79. lol he was not that bad maybe he needs game time at another club and then we can judge him properly

    ReplyDelete
  80. sharp statement can't really argue that

    ReplyDelete
  81. been off line a few weeks but since ive been back NO ANTEATER were is he????????

    ReplyDelete
  82. es back he moved house and he was waiting for internet connection lol were hes moved for it to take that long the mind boggles

    ReplyDelete
  83. couldnt sort the ant problem in the old house then!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  84. What? Skrtel can't be ill? Maybe he just has the runs like mad. Difficult to play a match if you have to go number 2 every ten minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  85. We've dropped points against worse teams than Fulham... And Sturridge has picked up assists by setting up teammates in better positions than himself...

Since we're doing pointless hypothetical scenarios though; would you be happy if in a tight title race we just needed 3 pts to win the title in the final game of the season against Man U, Sturridge has the ball in a three-on-one with the keeper to give us the lead in the 90th minute, but instead of shooting he tries to set up a teammate, misplaces the pass, then sees Man U take the ball up the other end and score the winner to secure another league title, while we are also overtaken by Man City, Arsenal, Spurs & Everton to drop all the way back into 6th place??

    ReplyDelete
  86. The problem with DS is that he is english and a ex Chelsea player.

This is why so many so called Liverpool fans give him a stupid amount of stick.

If DS was from a another country then I would bet my left nut that he would not receive any where near the amount of criticism that he does.

    ReplyDelete
  87. The one credit I'll give Jonjo is he seems to have a good "field sense" about him. He seems to be constantly putting himself in good positions.

He just hasn't been able to turn that positioning into results.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Should never bet your gonads on anything mate :)

    ReplyDelete
  89. Cant forget the way he shit out against the mighty oldham

    ReplyDelete
  90. I don't buy that one bit! Andy Carroll is English yet he's viewed as a demi-god despite been a complete disaster for LFC.
IMO I think there's a racial element to it, 10 goals & 3 assists in 13 app still has his quality questioned despite previous scoring goals at his last few clubs then there's the undeserved "bad attitude" tag which is totally unwarranted. Before anyone says "oh not the race card" LFC doesn't have a great tradition in this area, I'm old enough to remember Barnes & banana skin saga. Barnes was only accepted after he proved to be one of the greatest Liverpool players ever. It seems that certain players have to play out of their skins ALL the time whilst others get away with being less than ok!
I'm happy to be proved wrong but at least give me a plausible reason for why he's not fully accepted.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Despite these misdemeanours & a reputation for drunken disorderly behaviour I'm yet to see Andy Carroll's attitude called into question.

  93. In my view fans don't like it when a player appears to put his own glory ahead of the team's. That's NOT the same as the fact that strikers need to be selfish generally to be good at the job.
Sturridge was electric today, fully committed to playing at his best a bit like he was for the Chelsea game. The truth is, though, that the game was still in the balance at 2-1, and had he squared the ball for a tap in he would have looked an even better player than he did for displaying game awareness. At 3-1 the game would be over, with plenty of time left to complete his hat trick and a demoralised opposition to play against.
Against the best sides, those moments can be the difference between winning and losing.
Sturridge can often be a brilliant striker. But Messi, imo, would have passed.....

    ReplyDelete
  94. I agree he could have squared it but he instinctively took a shot & I've seen him do it before. By the same token I've seen enough in his play to suggest he can be a team player-Hendo's goal last week, Saurez's the week before. The runs out wide, the cracking team goal against Swansea!
I guess I find it refreshing that he has the confidence to have a go because it shows he has the makings of a 20+ goal a season striker. A virtue which should warrant support not rejection. Take the Man City game if he didn't have a crack we wld not have got any points.
Finally the hypothetical scenario of being greedy against top sides & this costing us dearly is too feable a reason for the disproportionate -ve criticism. It hasn't happened yet & he has time to learn to look up, but surely you've got to admit that he's been one of the few bright sparks in our mediocre season!

    ReplyDelete
  95. Rodgers destroyed a useful player like Skrtel and maybe we will have problem to sell him in a good price and he did the same with Carroll... But my question is: Can we win when it matters? I don't care if Starridge made a hat trick against Fulham (good player but he will be a big one, only when he will learn to pass the ball to his teamates and be less selfish), but I care that we couldnt win Everton, when we had hopes that we could make it and play in Europe... We can win and play good football only when we don't chase anything and this not the Liverpool way...

    ReplyDelete
  96. so much for your prediction

    ReplyDelete
  97. We don't need Suarez but we need Skrtel??? Maybe mouthing off to your manager is not a smart idea. I quiet remember JK saying no one is bigger than LFC!

    ReplyDelete
  98. Can't take any of your so-called opinions or comments seriously when you cannot even differentiate a comma and an apostrophe.

    ReplyDelete
  99. How do you know that aye...Jason Carr is anteater!!!! conspiracy! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  100. No one can deny you the right to think whatever you like, but seriously, this is your imagination, nothing more than that. I could come up with a story that Skrtel and Rodgers had a pre-match disagreement because Skrtel was slagging off the latest episode of Game of Thrones and Rodgers didn't take kindly to it. See Rodgers thinks it's OK for the TV show to have a bit of licence to stray from the content of the book, but Skrtel is a purist and he is very disappointed at how the Brotherhood have been introduced into the storyline, but then Rodgers said .... etc etc etc

That's about as valid as what you're saying here. I honestly don't know why you bother sometimes. It's like you have some random thought and then you write an article about it. This is truly out of left field, and you top it off by suggesting anyone who believes the twitter post is gullible. Very odd JK, very very odd.

    ReplyDelete
  101. who cares. Season is over. Lets concentrate for next season.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Defensively we were a shambles let's be honest. And in midfield we weren't too great either. I'd only give Coutinho and Sturridge more than 5 out of 10. There was no flow to what we did, we needlessly gave the ball away and our defenders kept losing their attackers. One of the worst performances this year.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I for one am not at all worried about the hype surrounding Coutinho. building expectations too high.

for the second half of season it is apparent that the brazilian is by age of 20. one of best players in our team. even if the case was that he doesnt improve further and is playing in peak of his abilities , he is well worth the transfer fee we paid for him, personally i dont believe it to be so.

Vision is something you cannot teach, his ability to read the came is superior to everyone in team, perhaps even gerrard. His first touch is absolutely fantastic and he allways seems to turn the pass directed to him into space when he gets the ball - giving himself freedom to operate. if he is pressed hard, he doesnt hesitate to give the easy pass backwards instead of forcing the play forwards. He has happy feet while dribbling - and a vicious shot in that small frame. im suprised he hasnt been able to score more goals, but im sure theyll come next season.

I hope LFC doesnt do the british thing and tell the boy to "bulk up"... he is able to hold his own as it is. too much time in gym will affect his mobility. then again he has low center of gravity. with a bit more muscle he would be harder to tackle off balance.

im hoping that the lad stays injury free, that way we have a fantastic midfielder in LFC for next ten years.

I havent been this exited in any of our signings in ... cant even recall.

Oh and good job Daniel!!! he is just what we have needed upfront. (and JK it doesnt mean we should get rid of Suarez)

finally. i said in january that Sturridge will reach double figures with goals.... well just look at that=)

  105. lol he told me on a posy on here believe me ,me and anteater are two entirely different people me and kanwar thats a different matter lol;-)

    ReplyDelete
  106. wrong m8 we have signed loads of players from english clubs

    ReplyDelete
  107. yep.. and they all get a ridiculous amount of stick

    ReplyDelete
  108. am not slating him but is he beyond critisism he should have squared the ball end of

    ReplyDelete
  109. Yes, you are slating him, unfairly. Suarez does the same when he plays but you've never mentioned it (as I recall). Sturridge scored a hat-trick and you're giving him grief? Other posters have accused you of having some kind of personal problem with Sturridge, and I think they're right.

    ReplyDelete
  110. This has been happenning for as long as i can remember, black players are always judge more ie attitude problem, needs 5 shots to score, selfish, dont work enough etc. It happend to andy cole, it happend to ian wright, defoe, etc at this moment of time ds is the best english striker by far, but everyone will be sayin we can nothin without rooney, will ds start for england, will he be the spear head for attack, or will we wait on rooney. the fact that noone evn replied or challenegd what u siad is a problem, welbeck is rubbish but he gets credit for being an hardworker??? hesky made owen play better but remember him a donkey, AC fits that bill more tbh,the enland team should pic players on form and not reputation or the club the play for, ds has been amazing since he came to lfc, he will not do it everygame why cus he human. to bakc up that the above post said can anyone else give abetter explanation to ds is treated, viewed this way when other dont get that same treatment.

    ReplyDelete
  111. In which case its makes for a refreshing change playing crap and still winning.. something Man Utd have been doing for years

    ReplyDelete
  112. oh the other posters must be right you have spoken it is the law and your never wrong, and i take it you mean the race issue well you know nothing about be ,my step brothers coloured so you could not be further wrong if you tried lol

    ReplyDelete
  113. 'Coloured'? Good to know you're on the ball when it comes to acceptable descriptions of ethnic minorities :-)

Did I mention race in my comment? No. Your defensiveness is quite illuminating, however.

I was simply referring to undue criticism of Sturridge's impact on LFC.

    ReplyDelete
  114. In fairness, we'd have lost 1-0 without DS yesterday. Peeps forget who scored the first goal in 'the Gerrard final'... we'd have lost that one 3-2 without him. 05-6 season Cisse & Gerrard scored more than half the clubs goals. Gerrard was the golden boy, Cisse got slated.

By the way, having a step brother of a different race only proves that your mother is not a racist, though I don't believe you are one, anyway.

FWIW, I'm a DS doubter, as well, but the lad is delivering the goods when all said and done.

    ReplyDelete
  115. and i have not said hes not delivering the goods i,am just saying he could improve his game

    ReplyDelete
  116. so we do not criticise bad desision all i said was he should have passed the ball i also said shelvey should have done the same ,but because sturridge is coloured everyone jumps on the racist bandwagon i remember reading a post on here that lfc should sign more coloured players just because thier coloured is that not racist or doe,s it only work one way,it seem a lot of people like to jump on the race issue at every chance they get

    ReplyDelete
  117. Jason, please stop using the word 'coloured'. It's ignorant in the extreme, and you sound like Ron Atkinson, i.e. like an out of touch dinosaur. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  118. so what do we call ethnic people now without upsetting someone ,or is ethnic a crime two

    ReplyDelete
  119. Hey Jaime... Why have you stopped providing videos of goals after the match? It was great for people like me who have to work during match-time and therefore catch up with the highlights here.. please do it for the next match/from the next season..

    ReplyDelete
  120. Okay, I'll do that from now on :-)

    ReplyDelete
  121. I agree with you on the England front, & it's exactly why England will never win anything in this modern era. As for my views I've expressed above I know that race is a touch subject but that's why I like this site. Google Andy Cole's comments abt Alan Shearer (England's Golden Boy) he reiterates a lot of what you say!

    ReplyDelete
  122. Does it not worry you Jaimie that you mostly get everything wrong. 3-5-2!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  123. Messi regularly shoots when he could pass, if he so wanted. Which is why he is regularly the difference maker for Barcelona.

Sturridge sets up his teammates as the next striker. He is just good enough to get his own shots on goal more often than most...

    ReplyDelete
  124. It's so obvious when a player has 'it' that I don't know how clubs like Liverpool, with all the players in the world available to them, so frequently end up with relative duds.

I knew Sturridge was criminally underrated, and am happy to see that Coutinho was the same way too. I won't get too carried away, as we've seen other January signings in recent years (like Jelavic) land with a bang before quickly fading away, but these two are undeniably quality players, with the potential to be world-class if all goes well...

  125. There are even more ants living right in front of my new house to be honest. Which is great as it only takes me a very short walk to get some protein-rich food.

    ReplyDelete
  126. It took them two weeks and I have been on a few short trips, too. Two weeks for that lot to connect a household to the internet is pretty fast over here.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Like Jeckyll & Hide, right. No, we are two entirely different people, all of the time.

    ReplyDelete
  128. i never asked billy did lol ;-)

  129. Sorry for replying then. I didn't want to bother you at all. Have a nice day.
