Agent urges £40m LFC star to quit Anfield for 'huge club'.

Earlier this week, Liverpool striker Luis Suarez reportedly stated that he would be happy to 'listen to offers' from other clubs this summer. The Uruguayan swiftly moved to claim that his words had been 'twisted', but it's the speculation persists and will continue until his future is solidified this summer. Juventus and Bayern Munich are both reportedly interested in signing Suarez, and an Agent close to Pepe Guardiola has urged Suarez to leave Anfield ASAP.

In an interview with Tuttosport last night, FIFA agent Giovanni Branchini - who claims that he 'works closely' with Suarez's Agent, Pere Guardiola, said:

“Do Juventus have what it takes to convince him? Certainly. Suarez must leave Liverpool as it is counter-productive to remain, outside the Champions League and away from the prospect of growth in his peak.

“Suarez needs to fully understand the appeal of the Bianconeri, what Juve have represented, do represent and will represent. They are a huge club and do not need to beg anyone, as great players already dream of going there"

Former Italy international Marco Tardelli also believes that Suarez would be the ideal solution to Juventus' attacking problems. He told Tuttosport:

"It's obvious that a striker who scores 20 goals a season would be a good addition for any team. Good players are not cheap, though. Suarez would be ideal due to his power, technique and directness, but I'd say signing him could be a complicated matter"

On Thursday, The many reputable news organisations - including the BBC, The Guardian, the Telegraph, and The Independent - reported the following comments from Suarez:

"If another team comes around with more prospects of competing in international club competition games, which is willing to have me, they are welcome."

Liverpool's propaganda machine quickly jumped into action, and the club wheeled out Ian Ayre to try and convince gullible fans that Suarez was somehow misunderstood, and that he'd definitely be staying at Anfield. Suarez himself then claimed that his words had been twisted, not in England, but in his home country of Uruguay:

"I'm sad to read these things. When it's in England, I accept it but I do not expect my words to be twisted over here [Uruguay]."

This is increasingly becoming a 'boy who cried wolf' situation. Suarerz just can't keep his mouth shut about his future, and then he moans that his words are being twisted? How is that even possible when he gave the interview in his native language? Do Uruguayans now have it in for him too? Is his home country now part of the alleged anti-Suarez conspiracy?! If you believe that, you'll believe anything. In any event, based on past evidence, there's a strong probability that Suarez's reported comments are accurate, *not* twisted:

* In an interview with the Daily Mail on the 1 February, Suarez said:

"If you want to know what will happen to me if we don't qualify for the Champions League, then I will say this: I have a contract with Liverpool and I am very happy here. I will stay"

* A few days later, Suarez reiterated that he is 'happy' at Liverpool, but despite only signing a new 'long-term' contract six months ago, he told Radio Marca:

"We should talk this [a new contract] in June or the next one, in 2014. My contract ends in 2018. The only thing missing is to have more positive results so we can finish in a Champions League spot. We would like to qualify for the Champions League if possible"

* Suarez then told Sport 890 that he would actually listen to offers if they came his way:

"I don't ever stop to read what is being said about me in the press - it would drive me mad as I'm linked to so many clubs. The day a concrete offer comes for me to the club, we will sit down and do what's best for everyone".

* Suarez then seemed to change his tune entirely and suggested that he would be 'happy' to leave for a different club. He told Mundo Deportivo:

"From here to the future you never know what will happen. The jump to an elite club would make me happy. Real Madrid and Barcelona always motivate you."

So, let's recap:

* Suarez is totally happy at Liverpool, and will stay at Anfield even if the club don't qualify for the Champions League.

* He signed a new contract - which runs until 2018 - only six months ago, but he thinks talks should take place this summer or the next on a new one.

* Despite wanting to stay at Liverpool, he is still willing to consider offers from other clubs.

* Suarez his happy at Anfield, but he's motivated by a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona, two 'elite' clubs.

Let me guess: Suarez's words were twisted in all the above statements too?!

Liverpool fans need to get their heads out of the sand. Suarez's alleged 'loyalty' is merely an illusion. He clearly has one eye on leaving the club, and his various comments prove that. Fans will remain in denial though, continue worshipping him like some kind of God, and act all surprised and shocked when the Uruguayan does a Fernando Torres and leaves sooner rather than later.

  2. Suarez will stay for at least another season. It is his way of ensuring that we attract talented players that will make an immediate impact. SG has also stated that we should buy the best.

  3. I dont care if he goes....we'll replace with someone...we always do,but £40m is not enough

  4. "Over the last few weeks, I've noticed an increase in petty bickering between posters, and this is creating a negative atmosphere in the comments section."

You sure that it's not your inflammatory posts that are causing the negative atmosphere? You paint every situation as black and white and then call those who disagree with you 'gullible'.

When you write with such vitriol what kind of conversation are you hoping to generate if not reactionary and 'negative'?

  5. Stop writing this crap its boring and Quite frankly anyoing hes a Lfc Player and hes happy so get over it its a no story all news papers are anti Lfc as far iam concerned

  6. I cant see him staying either. I feel he'd leave even if we got Champions League. Its the same for most players with any team. He knows we rely on him massively and so he can dictate what he wants. Obviously hes an incredible player and all that - I would try and do everything to make him stay. But players just have way too much power; I mean look at Yaya Toure for City; he's demanding a new contract else he'll leave. Now that could easily be "twisted" words again. But wouldnt it be great to see players see out there contracts? Its literally unbelievable; this wouldnt happen in any other job in the world.

I just want to know how much we'd get because I think he's worth more than 40 million. And I doubt we'd sell him for that too. One man is not above the club right? Theres always more players; and with a bit of luck we can just buy loads to replace him towards a "Rodgers team".

Speaking of which; watched the Wales v Scotland game last night. Anyone see Jonathan Williams? what a machine. Lets get on it. Right now. Sign him. Please.

  9. JK why do you hate Luis so much? What has he ever done to you? He won't be leaving in the Summer so find someone else to have a go at. How about Mary Felatio for a change.

  10. Liverpool should simply insert a £100 million buyout clause in Suarez's contract.

  11. I kind of feel sorry for Suarez. He's getting asked the same question time and again, but lacks the diplomatic skills to give pointless answers. Instead he tries to say the right things to each person who's asking him, forgetting entirely that what he says in Uruguay will be heard in Europe, too. He surly isn't the sharpest tool in the box. Neither is John Terry, for example, but he at least managed to deny everything right from the off concerning his alleged racial abusing of Ferdinand.

  13. I don't read that much into it.

If another team came offering him double the salary and Champs League, I'd not be surprised to see him take the offer. I believe most people in that position would do the same.

Additionally, if he says he's not looking to leave, and then does leave, he'll be excoriated. If he says he's looking to leave, he'll be excoriated.

The only way for him to save face is to say he's not leaving and then not leave. But unfortunately for him, he may not know what other offers exist. Until that offer comes in, we never know.

As much as I don't want to see him go, at least we can rest assured that if we sold this summer, we'd be selling high and able to reinforce the other areas of the team.

I just don't know how we'd be able to replace his goal scoring ability in the same way. And quite frankly, I don't think we can replace him.

Your articles are really bad Jamie and there getting worse each time I'm unfortunate enough to read one!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Yeah but just remember Suarez would have to sign that....Hes gonna know about it with a buy out clause like that there wouldn't be much chance of a club paying that so it means hes stuck where he is if he signed it

  18. Juventus larger than Liverpool That's the biggest joke yet!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Ah, typical response. I've said nothing in this article to suggest that I 'hate' Suarez. It's not personal. I've laid out the facts and given my opinion. You, like so many other LFC fans, simply can hack any criticism of Suarez, no matter how tame. You and others need to stop being so intolerant. This kind of mob mentality and hero worship of players is damaging and, with respect' pretty childish.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I don't stretch anything to make it negative. It is what it is, and you and others just refuse to see what's staring you in the face. You keep going on about Suarez not saying he wants to leave: wht kind of argument is that? How many players on big, fat contracts actually come out and say 'Yeah, I want to jump ship and go to a better club'?!

That's not how football works, yet Suarez's fans try to convince everyone that this is, in fact, how things work in practice. According to you - and others - Suarez has to come out and say 'I'm leaving' before his comments can be taken seriously.

We have to read between the lines, and taking ALL of Suarez's comments on his future into consideration, it is *obvious* that he is thinking of leaving. He doesn't have to say 'I'm leaving' for that to be true.

It really does amaze me how ridiculously protective fans are of players they love. I haven't made him out to be a 'villain' at all. Everything I've said is based on fact, and the inferences I've made are reasonable when you consider things objectively, which you have not.

The issue here is simple: whether you or other fans admit it or not, the truth hurts. You don't like seeing the mirror held up to nature, and when someone does that, you can't take it.

This is what the site is all about: holding the mirror up to nature, and stating the self-evident truths that no one else wants to acknowledge. You'd all just prefer it everything I posted toed the company line, with everything all warm and fully.

Well, with all due respect, wake up! Life is not like that, and irrespective of what you and Suarez's fans think, my interpretation of the situation is totally fair, and anyone not afflicted with gigantic pro-Suarez bias will admit that.

    ReplyDelete
  21. people believe what they want to believe, suarez will be here next season at least. we will prob finish 6-7 this season, if we fail to get top 4 next season he will prob be off, and id put that mainly down to the press and him constantly having to answer his critics. which he does on the pitch most weeks but its not enough for the witch hunt, that will continue till he is forced out of this country by the bullies

    ReplyDelete
  22. Impartial? Sorry, but I've never held myself out as being that. In fact, I've stated many times that I'm just as biased as most fans, just in a different way.

You're right with the points you highlight, but why should they take precedence over everything else Suarez says? Who decides what carries greater weight? To you, it's the stuff about saying; to me, it's the stuff about leaving. If you don't like articles about Suarez, don't read them. Just stick to reading the endless sycophantic praise about him peddled on the official LFC site.

  23. not exactly a compelling argument from JK that suarez is seeking a move but who could blame him if he wanted CL football. there's a few things regarding any move, 1 - ) will he score as prolifically in another league? probably but his first season will be as difficult as it was with LFC so as ever there's no guarantee. 2 -) even suarez knows its a team game and despite many individual goals his current team mates are still a big part of his prolofic 12/13 season. 3 - ) is he going to be a guaranteed starter anywhere else? he certainly doesn't like being left out or subbed, granted not many do. 4 - ) should he decide to leave we have some small consolation in LS having graced Anfield these past two seasons (and vice versa i should add) he's been a joy to watch AND finally LFC should have to sell, we should expect a good return on LS investment, the proceeds bringing BR some quality into the squad, in short whatever the outcome for 13/14 we can't lose really. Hoping LD stays & think he will.

    ReplyDelete
  24. another point, admittedly perhaps less pertinent but possibly equally telling in all this semantic chicanery and with specific regard to LS most recent comments, is - what exact question was he asked that he gave this opaque answer?

  28. JK....you are pathetic!!!!! After all that stuff got written by dodgy writers like yourself...Suarez came out and said he was disappointed at the lies!!!! Just keep printing your words!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think the issue is that you are very selective with what you call "facts". (In this case a pile of rubbish from a range of dodgy websites.) You clearly have some sort of issue with Suarez and then suggest anyone who points this out is part of some "mob mentality". Most real Liverpool supporters don't him want to go and given the "evidence" is open to interpretation, choose to believe he is staying. Most of us don't live don't in a deluded fantasy land where we think we actually run the club, unlike the residents of Planet Kanwar. I enjoy watching him play in the red of Liverpool. I think most normal Liverpool supporters do.

  30. When you read between the lines, Suarez is open to offers from other clubs. Why not?. He is currently the top scorer in the PL. If Van Pussy is earning twice as much as him currently, He should have the chance to renegotiate his contract and get rewarded what is befitting of him.
He will stay at least another season. If no progress by then he will move on.
If so Good luck to him. I still believe he will move on in a professional manner, .when the time comes.
It will not be this summer.

  31. If he wants to leave, he should leave! I won't even blame him, every player wants Champions League football and he's no exemption.

  32. Where did my post go?

    ReplyDelete
  33. even if suarez wanted to leave, you know and i know how much he loves the club, he adores our history and feels a real part of our family. some football players play for themselves, no offence to danny, but kind of like sturridge and taarabt. these dont really care about fans but on sturridges behalf hopefully he learns the liverpool way and plays for the fans. suarez always gives 100% and always runs over to celebrate with the fans home and away. hes wife, daughter, himself they actually really like liverpool as a home and club. he knows hes on a completely different level to the other liverpool players but its his dream to play for liverpool in the champions league. he wants to stay at least one more season as he wants to see whether we can achieve that. but he knows hes getting older, so if a team like real madrid bid for him in summer, theres absolutely no way he can reject it. madrid and barca are the 2 elites, and from when the greatest ronaldo left united for madrid, tbh theres no way suarez can. but suarez will not leave liverpool for chelsea, juventus or man city. no matter if they have champions league football. he loves our club, and is far too comfortable to just pack his bags without one last attempt at champions league football. saying that though it would depend alot on summer. suarez has given us 100% day in day out so i think its only fair we match his ability in the summer. we need about 6 players and i think we can get them all for around £36.5M. Keisuke Honda (FREE) Stefan De Verij (£8M) Carlos Zambrano (£5M) Mohamed Diame (£3.5M) Alexander Pato (£15M) Andreas Wiemann (£5M). 2 quality players in honda and pato, and other very good additions to our squad. each player also has fantastic work rate levels just the liverpool way.

sell skrtel (£10M) sell borini (£7M) sell coates (£6M) sell carrol (£14M) sell spearing (£1M) that gives us £38M.
send shelvey, sterling and suso on year long loans to premier league clubs with option of recall. and if they fufil their potential at there loan clubs they will give the manager a real selection headache once they return.

also jaime k i wish you would just talk about positive things, you always try to turn the fans away from players and staff with your BS and i dont know what amuses you when your doing it. but cut it out

  34. As boring reading it in the major rags as it is here. Hes said time and time again hes happy at pool. Hes just signed a contract till 2017. He looks happy says hes happy and repeatedly claims the papers twist his words. I mean its not like tabloids ever make stuff up right haha. If he goes he goes. Ill be sad lose him. But if we cant match a player of his calibres ambitions then thats our problem not his. Its about time our fans take a dose of reality and realise just how far down the pecking order weve slipped. It started with Alonsi and its sreadily got worse. We are a selling club and havr been for sometime.

  35. Impartial? Haha, being impartial isnt a one way street. You appear to revel in notoriety. Particularly when it comes to certain players. Thats not being impartial thats being vindictive.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Suarez is not bigger than LFC no player is. Most players are driven by money/ambition agents are thinking of their pockets and are driven by greed. It is their job to promote players around so they can have a big pay check. The media in Britain is anti Luis Suarez and it doesnt help LFC that one of its own supporters heavily criticises the the player. Yes he has his faults but FFS if he wants to move he will and LFC will be at least 40mil better of! It will be interesting to see how his loyalties truly are come the summer. Sadly in this day and age loyalty counts for nothing," Stevie G excluded".

Luis Suarez is a world class footballer and loved by every lfc fan and rightly so and I will b bitterly disappointed if he leaves the club but if he leaves early in the summer window for a team outside of England who r competing for there domestic title year in year out and the champions league and we get 50-60 million I really don't blame the lad and will wish him the best of luck and thank him for his wonderful performances in a red shirt because we r liverpool and will move on but I really hope he stays he would b very difficult to replace

'we can't lose really' - I know we all like to look at things in rose-tinted manner to see things in a very optimistic manner as you have done with your post (fair enough your view) but well we could end up buying another Andy Carroll from the Suarez money, i.e., wasting the money. The past two decades have seen some good players here but also some bad buys too. So I wouldn't be too cocky about 'we can't lose really'

  43. This reporter is all out to make sure Suarez leaves Liverpool . LFC should do something about it. We have heard this type of news from him very very often. I suggest all LFC fans sabotage him and write negative remarks about him without being abusive. I dont know who controls this reporting but they should not allow him to abuse the system. He is making LFC fans very very angry.

  44. JK i also believe Bill you have an hidden urgenda agaist Suarez . It is Ok to be constructive in criticism but all your articles about Suarez are always about he leaving Liverpool. Surely you have many other subjects to report. A good reporter will also write positive things too. What about saying eg " but I doubt Suarez will leave as he has express many a times his love for Liverpool."... .
See how fair reporting can be.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Come on JK everyone one day have to leave , you also be asked to leave this site one day. So when is your transfer coming. The point is you are on purpose trying to report this when you know Summer is coming soon and you know how press can influence matters in Politics Sports etc. So dont pretend to be so naive about your intention behind this. How do we know you are not paid to write this article by "someone".

    ReplyDelete
  46. I've shown the ability to admit on this site when I let my personal preference guide my views.

Being objective is one thing and admittedly, I'm not always objective because I want to see a certain outcome. My point is that in this case, if you look at everything I said earlier, I never said that Luis is staying no questions asked.

All I said was that he didn't say he was leaving and that he didn't say he was staying. His options are open; he wants to stay; but we'll wait and see what happens. How is that me not being objective?

On the other hand, Jaimie, you've taken his quotes and branded them as though he's saying he's looking to leave, which is not what he said.

Like I said before, there's nothing wrong with being critical of club and players (and fans) alike. Being critical is one thing, but the amount of negativity that you direct towards Suarez (sometimes warranted, sometimes not) is what leads people to believe you have a vendetta.

Like I've said before, Suarez should be held accountable if he's found to cheat (See: Dive against Stoke). But there are so many times when it's very inconclusive and you immediately do not take his side (Mansfield, Stamping, etc). More often than not, you immediately take side opposite Suarez in these situations. Admittedly, I more often take Suarez's side because it's inconclusive.

As it relates to this "vendetta" my point is not even to say that you are wrong or that I am right or that you are right or that I am wrong.

My point is to explain why people believe this. It has nothing to do with hero worship. It has to do with the negative angle that you consistently take towards Suarez.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Suarez has rubbished these stories himself saying his words were all twisted but hey ho what does that matter
