'LFC put in an offer' - Boss confirms Reds bid for exciting €19m attacker.

Earlier this week, Dynamo Moscow midfielder Balázs Dzsudzsák claimed that the Russian club blocked a move to Anfield during the January transfer window. Liverpool snapped up Philippe Coutinho instead, but it looks like Rodgers wanted Dzsudzsák in addition to the Brazilian, and Dynamo Sporting Director Dmitry Galjamin seemed to confirm this last night.

Speaking to Nemzeti Sport on Monday, Dzsudzsák confirmed that Dynamo blocked the transfer, but admitted that he is 'not that disappointed' over missing out on the opportunity to move to Liverpool:

"I stay, but it wasn't up to me. Dinamo didn't let me go, not even to Liverpool. I can't say any more because it is not my position to do so, but it seems that some respectable teams still believe in me. What I couldn't do during the winter transfer window can be done in the summer"

Why was the deal blocked? In an interview last night, Galjamin explained:

"Liverpool put in an offer to take Dzsudzsák on loan, but didn't want to buy. Since a loan deal is not an option for us, we immediately closed negotiations"

If Liverpool had decided to buy Dzsudzsák outright then it looks a deal could've been concluded. However, given the fact the Hungarian star cost Dynamo €19m only a year ago, it's hardly surprising that the club told the Reds to stuff it (!)

Based on his comments, Dzsudzsák seems open to a summer move away though, which suggests he's not entirely happy in Russia. After spending three years at PSV Eindhoven, the 26-year old has experience of European football, so perhaps Liverpool will be back in for him during the summer transfer window...?

  1. He was a real good prospect some years ago, but somehow his career seems to have gone backwards since his move to Russia.
Will Moscow be willing to let him go for a reasonable price after paying 19m themselves? Probably not.

  2. Overrated player. One for the squad sure, but would not improve our first 11 in any way.

  3. too much money for a player who would improve the squad but probably not the first eleven. Glad to see Liverpool playing hard ball over transfers and transfer fees, we've been ripped off too many times in the past.

  4. nice to see we have been round europe with the begging bowl out again fsg are turning the club into a laughing stock, imo they wanted players on loan and did not want to buy anyone thats why the cuotinho deal took so long they were trying to beg players farce

  5. Sturridge, signed within two days of the window opening. It`s easy to only see the negative, if you only look at things from one side.

If you rule out all the bad transfers Rafa made, then he was the best ever at transfers.

If you rule out the winning all the title, then Fergie has done rubbish.

These may seem over the top, but from what I can see, you are only picking out bits to suit your argument.

Yes we went on for some loans, but we also signed players, not just this window, but also last window.

The Coutinho deal took so long cause they kept turning down our offers, and rightly we didn`t want to just go in and pay silly money. TBH as he was out injured, or just come back, there wasn`t any rush as he wouldn`t have been playing anyway, so waiting seems to have made sense.

  6. Got to admit I've never heard of this player before. But from the video clip, he does seem like a real deal. Can really hit a mean freekick.

  7. In the summer I would like to see us buy another goalkeeper, a dominant centre back and a top class winger. Not so sure if Dzsudzsak fits the description of the top class winger. I've seen reports of Ben Arfa being mentioned this morning and I think he would be a better player for us than Dzsudzsak but only problem with him is that he seems quite injury prone. I've seen this guy play a few times and he looked alright but not brilliant, probably no better than the players we have at the moment and I'm assuming that Dynamo will want most of their money back considering they only bought him a year ago, so at that price I'm sure there are better value players out there..

  8. loaning players can be a brilliant strategy for a team in transition and with a lot of young, inexperienced players such us ours.. and we WERE a "laughing stock" when we overpaid for players.. the club's recent financial politics of smart-buying, even if it can be a bit frustrating for the fans, is a lot better for the long run, i'm sure you can see this

  9. Think that if we were genuinely in for him, we dodged a bullet. I personally don't think these clips tell the full story of a player. It's not always about their amazing bits, sometimes a players attitude and work ethic matter too. A clip can't always show that.

  10. I do wish idiots like you would just think before opening your mouth.

FSG have their way of doing things and we have to go along with it. We don't have the money of City and Chelsea and never have had, we had good managers who spotted and brought in fantastic players, and for many years punched above our weight. The only time we had big money was when Hicks and Gillette took over but that turned out to be fools gold.

If it wasn't for FSG we would be bankrupt now and be playing at best in the Blue Square. Look what happened to Rangers.

If you don't like it there are other clubs you can support, I'm sure they would be glad to have you fill their empty seats.

  11. Here's a question for you:

After the Torres sale, what would your thoughts on loaning Andy Carroll, with an option to buy?

Look at the Cole and Sahin deals. Cole arrived on a free with a ridiculous salary. Sahin arrived on load with a lower salary and a nominal loan fee.
Cole got injured and was, generally, sub standard.
Sahin didn't fit for whatever reason.
Cole stayed with us for 2 1/2 years, albeit with a season long loan where we still reportedly paid 60-70% of his salary. We paid £3m to get rid of him.
Sahin's loan was terminated early and he moved back to his favourite club, who paid the rest of the loan fee to the parent club.

Now, which one was the best piece of business?

  12. I see you live in York do you even go to any games or just spout off on here daily??

All I have ever seen are negatives coming from yourself. Yes everyone is entitled to their own opinion but please put a sock in it.

Anyone who cant see the positive things happening at the club the club can well do without their "support" If all you want is glory and big name players City are just down the road. I hope you enjoy!!

  13. Exactly my point, brilliant post! Loan deals are under-rated and under-used.. there are situations when they are just perfect and benefit all parties..

  14. I was a very keen admirer of his whilst at PSV and was shocked when he went to Russia. He is a top class player and did very well at PSV and id welcome his arrival at Anfield with excitement!!

    ReplyDelete
  15. and waiting for coutinho nearly cost us his signature

    ReplyDelete
  16. so if i dont agree with your opinion i should put a sock in it well m8 you can get f"cked, just because your happy with everything every one else as to be

    ReplyDelete
  17. we should be loaning our young players out to get experience not visa versa

    ReplyDelete
  18. lol so no one else tried to buy the club only fsg, sorry m8,and in 2or 3 years time when we still have no champions league i will except your apologey

    ReplyDelete
  19. agree if we loan really good players with an option to buy at a fixed price so other clubs cannot out bid us for them its a good option the thing is not many clubs want to let realy good players go out on loan, and before anyone jumps on the masarano bandwagon ,it was his owner not west hams call

  20. dont know why your comment was removed everyone is entitled to there opinion ??? for you how many off these can you truthully answer yes to
1 are we any better placed in the league this year compared to last
2 are we  really playing any better football and i,am not talking 1or 2 matches
3have rodgers signings been much better than kennys(you only have to look at out strongest starting line up to see sturridge apart none of the others start)
4 how many cup finals will we get to this year
5 come the end of season will you think were still moving in the right direction if we finish imo 6th or 7th

    ReplyDelete
  21. Going by stats alone then no we're no better but I can honestly say id rather watch us now than the last few seasons. Regardless of last seasons cup finals.

Sturridge will be a good signing as will Coutinho. No matter what you think off Allen he is what we needed at the time. ok in all probability Borini probably wont be up to it

What fans have to realise is, whether its liked or not, this season has in effect been sacrificed to balance the books and this really did need doing.

I really dont see any benefit in all the constant negative talk.

Lets trust in the manager and what he's been saying about the major re-building taking shape in the summer. Regardless of anyones opinions on FSG Rodgers deserves at least this. If it doesnt happen in the summer as we've been told then it will be the time to express.

Surely now it makes sense for everyone to pull in the same direction. There is far too much negativity in the media about Liverpool without our own fans contributing!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. But did it? I mean there is nothing to say we didn`t nearly get him. Sure it got closer to the end of the window, but so do lots of deal, in fact most.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Who else would have come in? I`m sure others were looking, but would they be any better. I`m guessing by your CL comment you think different owners would have us back in CL by now?

We will never know, but from what I have seen, we could have done a lot worse. I may not like Baseball, but there is no denying that they have run the Red Sox really well.

  24. While I do agree with your point, calling Jason a Idiot, is a bit off. Most of the time I disagree with Jason, but I don`t think, or would call him a idiot, just cause he has a different view than myself.

  25. Ironically, i just posted above, to someone who name slung at you, saying that aint needed, and I was the one who got modded hahaha

    ReplyDelete
  26.  i can understand that you want to wait and see what happens in the summer, but imo we are not going to be in any better position to attract players than we were in jan,so why not get the players in then give them the rest of this season to gel and tweek the squad in the summer,i cannot believe that fsg are going to be that much better off in a few months,my main concern about rodgers is that he talks to much to the media about players, and also subtle hints about the lack of depth in the squad, well if hes man enough to come out and critisize the young players after a dissappointing performance he should be man enough to knock on his bosses door and tell him what he needs, and if they have said no he should be man enough tosay that he wanted to strenghten the squad and fsg would not back him

  27. My answer to them questions would be, we are prob about the same. The only difference is I do think we are playing better football, although I do think under Kenny we played some nice football too. I would say finishing 6th is a improvement, mainly because it was clear at the start of the season the team was struggling to get used to the new style of play, so it would show me that after that we must have done a lot better to climb back up to sixth, and make me feel more confident that next season we will start it a lot better.

There is still a lot of work to do, mainly being able to play well against teams we should beat, and finishing off them teams.

The signings thing is always a hard one, as you can`t tell if naturally a player has settled more, hence being better in his second season, or if the new manager is better at making him a better player. In terms of spending, we are alot better.

For me, I would also like to see a manager get a second season, as I never wanted Kenny to go really. I think unless we lose a lot of the last games, it would be good to give BR another season, to see if the team does it. If not, then fair enough, we would have given a decent amount of time for his style to work, so sacking would be ok.

  28. southampton came in and met milans asking price and as we know they have supposedly pipped us to two recent targets

    ReplyDelete
  29. But we got him for less, so im guessing unless we decided not to go in for him, Southampton coming in didnt really matter.

    ReplyDelete
  30. he chose what in his opinion was the bigger club imo and would not move to southampton.but the point is what if spurs or chelsea had come in for him whilst we were making our mind up

    ReplyDelete
  31. yes there fans are over the moon with them ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  32. Seems like you were part in the whole negotiations... nearly missed him cause of waiting... not very strong argument you put up

    ReplyDelete
  33. I got excited when I saw us linked to HATEM BEN ARFA.A swap with ANDY CARROLL has been mentioned and I would like YOHAN CABAYE too.Quality and experience.
CARROLL and cash for those two would complete our attack. Then we could concentrate on getting defensive reinforcements to push for a CL place.

  34. True they arent right now, but that doesnt mean too much. Us fans are fickle at the best of times. FSG brought them the title, after a crazy amount of years without it, they were pretty happy then.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Dont need him - get a decent CENTRE BACK

    ReplyDelete
  36. Man are you serious. Sturridge is a class act. He has scored 4 goals in six games so far. And did you see him play at Bolton? He is a CLASS signing and when will you SO called fans look at the positives?? Im so sick of hearing all this dribble and negative outlooks. SUPPORT your team. We are not doing that bad and will be getting better!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Apology for what??? He stated that they saved us from going Bankrupt! Thats true we were in trouble. Now we have no debt class youngsters and are moving up the table. Wow we are in such a worse position now are we?? I look at your comments on here all the time and they are always so negative. Go support anther club.

  38. I bet you are the first moaning if Liverpool over spend on a player yet are not happy when FSG dont spend silly amounts of money. We are not owned by a sugar daddy, get that into your head.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yes we havent loaned any players out have we? Ngoo, Morgan.

    ReplyDelete
  40. i know we loan players out but imo most players we would try to loan in are not that bothered

    ReplyDelete
  41. iam happy to give him till the end of the season as long as performances improve(results)but if they dont then how many games do you give him to change it round at the start of next season

    ReplyDelete
  42. I don`t know, that is always a hard question. Although you can`t really measure it, I guess for me it comes down to a feeling. If you feel the team looks better, and will do better. It`s not based on any stats, or any logic really, just that gut feeling you get sometimes. I guess a good example is comparing Kenny to Rodgers. Both stats, are about the same at this time, yet under kenny, I just didn`t feel we could ever challenge for the league again. Under Rodgers, I have a feeling we could, not right now of course, but if given enough time.

Note, I didn`t say top four, as although I agree its needed, and a first stepping stone, just aiming for top four, isn`t good enough long term. So I want a manager who I feel can take us to top four and past it.

It may change, but as of today, I feel Rodgers can do that. He does make mistakes, and does need to get better in the transfer market. But the feeling I get is things are going in the right direction.

    ReplyDelete
  43. i still think its a working progress one of my main worries is his lack of success in the transfer market, and how quick he seems to be turning over his own players if the borrini speculation is to be believed ,and also how much clout he has fsg, will they back him big time in the summer,i doubt it

  44. do you get paid for this tosh?....... because i can honestly say you have no clue what you are talking about.
