'I won't go off the rails' - Exciting €10m attacker responds to LFC rumours.

With only three days of the January transfer window remaining, it looks increasingly likely that any further Liverpool transfer business will take place on transfer deadline day. Blackpool winger Tom Ince remains on the club's radar, but even this late in the game, the youngster doesn't appear to be worried about his immediate future.

€10m-rated Ince watched yesterday's FA Cup defeat against Oldham from the stands, and I doubt he would've been impressed with what he witnessed.

On the other hand, after witnessing Fabio Borini and Raheem Sterling put in totally ineffective performances, Ince probably feels a lot better about his chances of making the first team (should he move).

When asked yesterday about the status of his move to Liverpool, Ince admitted that 'every player wants to play at the top level at some stage of their career', but made it clear that he's happy to stay at Blackpool. He told The Mirror:

"As far as I am concerned, if I am still a Blackpool player come Thursday then great.

"My attitude will never change and I won't go off the rails thinking, 'Why didn't I get this move or that move?'

"I will always work hard for this team and I am happy scoring goals for Blackpool. The club has given me the stage to express myself and the players allow me to do it"

I'm still hopeful that the club will sign Ince before the transfer deadline, but it would be even better if Rodgers managed to surprise everyone and snag one or two experienced attacking players.

In other news: Brazilian club Gremio have denied reports that they are interested in signing Sebastian Coates. When asked about the possibility of a deal, Gremio director Rui Costa told UOL:

"You can forget that, just forget it."

Gremio may not be interested, but I think it's safe to predict that Coates will leave Liverpool sooner rather than later.

  1. I'd be really surprised if Rodgers bought a strong defensive midfielder. Ince coming in wouldn't be a bad thing either. Had he been a bit more patient, he would have got the stage to express himself with us anyway.

  2. Sounds like he's not re-joining us judging by that comment, can't really blame him to be honest. He's bound to get more game time if he stays where he is.Best of luck to him.

  3. what we lack is steel ...soussoko joined Newcastle for 1.5m...thats a steel...if ince had played against oldham the result would be the same....Rogers has really hamstrung himself with allen,,,a 5 foot 5 defensive midfielder ..he cant justify to fsg buying another midfielder...if lucas or gerrard or hendo get injured or lose form we are in big trouble and teams will just run through us in midfield ..all the other teams are buying big powerful midfielders as there managers know whats required ...rogers is in dream land...looks like arsenal are getting diame and we are buying more lightweights to add to the abundance of lightweights we already have .......

  4.  rogers wont because hes splashed out 15m for allen...he cant very well go to our yankee owners and say do you know the guy i said would be worth double what we paid ...well hes crap so i need another midfielder

  5. enough attackers I think... back up defence is our main concern - should be clear from the weekend

  6. Yep we are deffo lacking in steel especially against the more physical teams...Some of our lads have about as much presence as subbuteo figures.

  7. No we don't - Sturridge and Suarez are our only two legitimate starting quality attackers (assuming we're talking about for a good side of course)

Borini would be lucky to be 4th choice striker at the league's top clubs, and Downing would be lucky to be 4th choice wideman/wideforward.

  8. Sterling, Suso, Yesil et al are good quality young prospects but not ready to be starting games consistently either. We need somebody else to go straight into our front 3 and be capable of leading the way, rather than just being another passenger along for the ride when everything is going well

  9. Xxactly! Newcastle already had Tiote, that ppl were going crazy about with their ridiculous valuations, and have now snapped up somebody even bigger and better for a fraction of the price; with nobody even challenging them for the signing!

As far as I'm concerned, the majority of the money-men in in football are fools (irt football finances)

  10. Liverpool missed out big time with Sissoko for 1.5m? hes a proven international and only 23. He will probably end up in spain or italy in a few years for around 20m. You missed out on Sneijder and now players dont wanna play for LFC

  11. agreed... however I disagree about Sterling... I think he will be devastating with Suarez and Sturridge. My analysis is that he doesn't get enough space often to exploit that pace and developing skill. Next to the terrible 2 he'll do well. BR hasn't played that properly yet so watch that space.

Coutinho is apparently coming so he would slot in nicely, then I think it's time Yesil got a chance, Morgan also just came back and he seems the nice instinctual sort, maybe he could fit, then Borini could be the next option.

Suso I believe must drop back and play in midfield along side Gerrard Lucas and MMMMAAAYBE Lucas Hendo...

  12. would be a good signing in ince, fighting attitude and good skills.
coates if he has no takers for a sale then a loan in divi 1 or championship would hopefully toughen him up, because technically hes good for a big centre back.
we so badly miss a mascherano, we have no ball winner except lucas but not as good

  13. Not sure Ince is vital to Liverpool going forward, with Coutinho and Sturridge we are covered. I think a new centre-half would be good, Fazio or Diakite seem likely?, a bit of experience would be great. The quality is there but we don't have a fighting spirit yet, that takes time to establish.

  14. We should be looking for a strong hardman DM. Lucas is still not up to full fitness. His play is somewhat lacking and could be the fear(phobia) of getting injured again. This is not effective for the team.
The DM position is key for Bucks system. Can we get Souey out of retirement??

  15. Agreed. Three days to go. lets see what players will come in on deadline day. If any?

  16. The problem with Allen is, you never know what he's actually there for. At first I thought he was supposed to play the Busquets role but he lacks defensive prowess and strength. Then Rodgers said Lucas coming back would allow Allen to move forward but he doesn't pass the ball beyond five yards. So what is he actually there for? I don't know anymore. I'm not saying he's bad or a poor buy as he's only 22 and time will tell. I just don't see what his niche is. With Gerrard it's leadership and vision, with Shelvey it's directness, Lucas controlling, Henderson passing but Allen? I just can't figure it out.

  17. Except that Sissoko isn't a defensive midfielder like Tioté, he's a box to box midfielder like Gerrard and we already have one of those. Two if you count Henderson.

  18.  two years we have whined for more attacking players cause we arent scoring enough. and still arent. now oldham drops us from cup so now it is? "scr** that, we need defenders!!! asap!!" what??

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hey we really need a defensive midfielder to cover lucas. since we missed on diame,we must buy cheap alternative, better if the player could play as a centre back too. add a steel in midfield to win the ball. i really rate wanyama ,not because of fifa. FYI,everton bought feyenords fer.

  23. How we missed out on Yann M'Vila and Mussa Sissoko is really beyond me. Diamé hasn't signed for Arsenal yet, did he. We really should go for him.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Diame for £3m would be a better deal !

    ReplyDelete
  25. Looks like Reading are trying to get him too.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Sterling isn't good enough mentally yet.... he needs a massive wake up call.... he could become the next giggs if he wants to but i believe he'll end up another shaun wright phillips... disappears when the going gets tough

  27. i think u should carry on eating omar and leave debates for others

    ReplyDelete
  28. Apparently their offer has been accepted by Blackpool?

    ReplyDelete
  29. least we will get 35%

    ReplyDelete
  30. badly short in defence, starting with the goalkeepers.

    ReplyDelete
  31. sterling has dropped of the pace a bit since he signed. dropping him may be the kick up the a*se that he needs.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Brendan Rodgers can't win either way he gets crucified for his signining. If he signs a player for £10m+ fans always say there are cheaper alternatives. If he buys a player for a low fee (Assaidi) fans shout from their depth of there lungs we are buying lower league player. A message to you all a great manager brings the best out of the players he signs and others in the team but just give them time. GET BEHIND YOUR TEAM!

  33. oh well, that's that then, no players want to come to us,may aswell turn off the lights and lock up, bye, bye.

  34. I will leave the scouting to Liverpool, plus Newcastle have heaps of French players. If I'm a French international would I go Liverpool or Newcastle. I know where I would go where the most French players are at. So it's just about Liverpool it's about the player where he would be happy at and most comfortable.

    ReplyDelete
  35. maybe... i hope your right... just read the gaffers views on the liverpool website about mental toughness of some players and i think this is aimed at sterling more than anyone as he then goes on about allen taken on yaya and borini being agressive... i think he's being a little overprotective of his own signings there myself

    ReplyDelete
  36.  It amazes me how you manage to stay so positive

    ReplyDelete
  37. Atlast someone actually talking common sense instead of running off with nothing but negativity

  38. I find it hard to see what BR saw in Borini which convinced him to pay so much for him...
    What does Borini possess skillwise??!!
No pace, no silky dribbling, no power...
Only decent movement... Even his finishing is doubtful (as we saw at the start of the 2nd half against Oldham, where he had a very good opportunity to level the game, and this could have completely reversed the final outcome).
It's a question that only BR can answer...

  39. been saying for at least 6 months we need a "hard" type midfielder, and a commanding center half,  Samba? Williams? we have injury prone Agger, jump in and make mistakes  Skrtel, midfield sissies Downing and Henderson and Suso (all skillful but still lightweight) the first sign of blood they faint!
some posters on here are spot on, Diame, Sissoko, M'vila why are we not interested? can someone tell me!

    ReplyDelete
  40. One day Borini will score, i may not live to see it, but it will happen!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oldham 3 Sissies 2

    ReplyDelete
  42. You see the problem is that B.Rod favours players with whom he has worked with in the past from his Swansea and Chelsea days. Now all his signings bar Sturridge have been huge disappointments!!

As a passionate LFC supporter, it is common sense that we need an imposing CB and DMF!! With Diame for example in the Liverpool team, imagine the freedom it would give someone like Stevie G!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. You have to remember that Sterling is only a young boy and has played more than he should have this season. He was one of our best players earlier on! There is a danger now that he will burnOut, which would be aweful!

    B. Rod SHOULD have common sense and protect Sterling more than he is doing!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. i call it how i see it ...and i see crap when you go out to oldham

    ReplyDelete
  45.  he bought assaidi and never played him after he looked good ..yet he perceive rs with allen who is garbage

    ReplyDelete
  46.  ill tell you what you get with allen ...a 5 yard ball sideways....the truth is he has now been found out...passing a ball 2 yard doesn't wash for Liverpool ...rogers paid 15m for a player who is realistically worth 3m

    ReplyDelete
  47. not football just liverpool

    ReplyDelete
  48. i just read this and its laughable ..allen and borini physical ...they would get pushed about in a que at mothercare

    ReplyDelete
  49. BR is finding out how hard it is to manage a big club. Will he be able to hack it?? I'm not sure but I believe he deserves the time and our support. There are a lot of problems to overcome. The biggest problem (imho) is there's a lack of leadership on the park. Against Oldham the leaders were meant to be Suarez (not for me, he lead by example but not vocally), Skrtel (again not for me, similar to Suarez) and that's it. BR got it wrong playing that back line meant Reina had to play or playing Jones meant Carra had to play. I believe Carra had to play, he aint played all season and in the league I think he could be a bit of a liability, but when all's said and done he's our best defender. Against Oldham Jones, Robinson, Coates, Sterling & Sturridge all had shocking games and Allen wasn't to far behind them that's why we're out plain and simple. Why didn't Shelvey start??
