Fake Agent? Angry €12m ex-Barca star slams Liverpool transfer lies...

Earlier this week, the Agent of Venezuelan star Jeffren Suarez claimed that Liverpool were actively 'monitoring' the winger, witha view to making a bid for his services. The angry Sporting Lisbon star has has now taken to Twitter to discredit these comments, and pour cold water on the possibility of a move to Anfield.

The comments from Jorge Llagostera were preceded by reports in several Portuguese newspapers, including Jornal Record, which stated:

"Jeffrén has aroused the interest one of the giants of European football. Liverpool are ready to sign the player, and the club have made contact with made Sporting officials over the possibility of a transfer during the January transfer window"

Responding to the speculation on Twitter, Jeffren barked:

"Given the media statements produced by Jorge Llagostera, I want to clarify that this man is not my representative, so these statements have no value"

Liverpool tried to sign Jeffrén in 2011, and the 24-year old confirmed the club's interest in an interview with radio station Cadena Ser. He said:

"It makes me proud that teams like Liverpool are interested in me. We’ll see what happens."

Jeffren ended up signing a 5-year deal with Sporting Lisbon, and his contract contains a €30 million buy-out clause, as well as a €12m buy-back clause for Barcelona.

All I can say is...thank God for that! Liverpool don't need another player who struggles to create. Jeffren's creative stats are clearly not good enough:

* 1 goal/no assists in 8 appearances this season.
* 5 goals/1 assist in 28 appearances overall for Lisbon.

  1. No one really cares if it's not true I don't think many fans wanted him really.

    Cheers for the post

  2. In other news, RDV has come out denying he said the Liverpool had bid €20 for Son Heung-Min. In a statement he said 'Raphael Van de Vaart doesn't not speak for me and it doesn't help when websites like LiverpoolKop take notice of rubbish written in the Daily Excuse. The only paper worth taking notice of in the UK is The Metro and they've said £8M'.

  13. But Bungle and Sooty were lovers, so that's maybe why. Suki Sue walked in on them, but got miffed when they wouldn't let her join them for a threesome.
