'Make us an offer' - Agent invites bids for £15m Porto star. Priority...?

Earlier this week, the Agent of Porto left-back Alvaro Pereira suggested that the Portuguese international could leave the club if the right offer came along. Liverpool are currently linked with a move for Pereira, and now, the player's personal lawyer has confirmed that a move away from the Estádio do Dragão is definitely on the cards.

In an interview with Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã last Tuesday, a Porto 'source' claimed that Brendan Rodgers is a fan of Pereira's attacking abilities, and that the Uruguayan could be available 'for less than 20 million euros".

Last night, Pereira's Lawyer, Flavio Perchman, made it clear that the defender wants to leave Porto this summer. He told Antena1:

"I spoke with Alvaro last week and he is clear: We are waiting for offers. We believe it will work out for the better with a sale, but we must have an offer on the table to decide. For now, we have not received anything concrete".

£15m-rated Pereira's also suggested recently that he may be on the move this summer. He told Sky Sports 24:

"I do not know what will happen. I'm still in South America and when I return to Portugal I have to talk with Porto to decide on my future, but for now I am player of Porto".

Last summer, Liverpool were heavily linked with a move for the Uruguayan, who is under contract at Porto until 2016.

Some fans would argue that left back is not a priority position, but in my view, Liverpool desperately need someone to provide major competition for Jose Enrique, whose overall form, and consistency in the final third, left a lot to be desired last season:

* 21% crossing accuracy (109 off-target crosses)
* 27% shooting accuracy (Only 3 shots on target all season)
* 70% passing accuracy in opposition half.
* Defensively, on only 57% of ground/aerial duels.

Stats: OPTA

£15m is obviously too much, but transfer fees are always negotiable, and with the likes of Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud going for less than £12m, it's conceivable that Liverpool could get Pereira for a lower fee.

We don't need him. We need strikers and midfielders,

  4. Aly Cissokho is also available and is comparatively cheaper option, i think he is the one Liverpool should be targeting.

  5. Liverpool have been watching Ramirez for long time but still not complete the move. What is happen? In recent rumor Liverpool link with Swansea pairs Sinclair and Allen. How about Ramirez? We definitely need creative winger who can provide more assists for our strikers. I don't think Sinclair is good for Liverpool, Please Branden go for Ramirez.

how many strikers do we have, & who are they?Carrol,Suarez& Borini(& maybe Bellamy if he decides to stay)?last season we finished with the lowest number of goals because we had the lowest number of strikers.every team had the motif "stop Suarez & there are no goals for liverpool" and now we give them the same advantage?we have a fload of midfielders & we are still bringing more?who will score then?i think we need one or two cleanical finishers and ship out about three midfielders.is this the tiki-taka style?well BR, KD tried the many midfielder game and finished 8th in the league.Hope you know what you are doing or may the Gods be upon us all.YNWA!!!!!!!

  8. Pereira is Uruguayan not Portuguese..

Anyway, 15m is a great deal to fill in a position which was lacking toward the end of last season, push Enrique up field, he always was better at attacking, and that's two birds with one stone!

  10. I'd be going for Afellay and possibly Dzeko. Dzeko is not very happy at city and Afellay would now be available.
