Agent confirms: €18m goalscoring LFC target is wanted in England. Bid?

The Agent of Liverpool target Manuel Agudo Durán - aka Nolito - has confirmed that clubs all over Europe have made enquiries about the former Barcelona midfielder.

Speaking to Radio Noticias, Oscar Font, Nolito's Agent, said:

"There have been enquiries from England, Spain, Italy and France. Many people have called me asking for Nolito.

"I've told them, if they're really interested, then they'll have to talk to the president of Benfica because he has a contract there until 2016."

The €18m-rated Spanish midfielder currently plays for Benifica, and this season, he's chipped in with 10 goals in 11 starts for the Portuguese giants, which is an excellent creative return.

Nolito's great form hasn't been enough to propel Benfica to the top of the Portuguese Primeira Liga; with three games to go until the end of the season, Porto are four points clear of their fierce rivals, but Benifica arguably have the easier run in, so if results go their way, Nolito could still end the season with a league winner's medal.

Worth a bid?

  2. he virtually plays the same way as suarez, same type of player not a typical striker more like a forward who can play on the wing, good dribbling, decent shot technique but not a finisher, expensive substitute for bellamy imo

  3. We need an out and out goal scorer a player that prime skill and technique is putting the ball in the back of the net more of a falcao or a vanistelrooy type player not one that can beat a man and no end product

  4. 10 goals in 11 games shows end product does it not way too expensive though.

  6. If Liverpool are really interested in signing him, shouldn't they have signed him for free last season, when he was one of the players linked with Liverpool alot in the summer, instead of now paying 18m for him.

  7. Well i think its good that we are being linked with a few potentially creative type players, that would signal perhaps that the Club is aware of our shortcomings....and want to rectify it.

Okay 18mil sounds a bit steep, but lets not forget that we paid 17mil for Glen Johnson a few years ago........a player who IMO was never worth that amount of money......

Anyway, this fella might be a good replacement for Suarez, if we get a poacher as well then we'd be a lot stronger next season....and thats without any additional midfielders....which im sure we will be looking at also.

  8. 10 goals from 11 starts is good, but why does he only have 11 starts all season?

  9. At least he is more skillfull than Charlie Adam and Andy Carroll put together.

  10. Benfica, Sporting and Porto are doing good business eh. Buy up cheap-ish players (mostly from South America) and sell them for good profit. Net Spend crew must love these teams ;) I think they got Nolito on a free.

  11. Too expensive for a player that only made 11 starts.

  12. We need quality wingers and a quality striker. That's the easy bit. The hard bit is who can we attract and afford? We must have money cos we spent 100M. We should take a chance on these south american players in the first place, like portuguese and russian teams do, because many turn out to be very useful or better - Gaitan, James Rodriguez, Hulk, Willian etc etc I don't know how work permit laws here would let us do that, cos I am fed up with LFC seemingly wasting our transfer budget every transfer window. Nolito was a free apparently last year. So now he is 15M? Where were we last year? He has got that much better in one year?! He prob is good, that is the annoying thing cos if we buy him now,you have to question why we weren't after him on a free last year?!!!
