Agent: €40m Brazilian LFC target *will* move to Europe soon. Replace Suarez?

The Agent of Liverpool target Leandro Damião has confirmed that the Brazilian striker will almost definitely move to Europe in the summer.

Two weeks ago, Damiao - who has an excellent goalscoring record for Internacional - revealed that the he was 'ready' to move to a European club, and insisted that the 'time was right' to make the change.

Today, The 22 year old's agent, Vinicius Prates, provided yet another strong indication that a European move could be imminent He said:

"There is a good chance that the player will arrive in Europe this summer and it would be a good opportunity for him to play at a big club."

If Damiao does make the move, then the chances are the fee will be huge, as revealed recently by Internacional President Giovanni Luiggi, who said:

"I have an offer of €40m from a team in the Ukrainian league"

Realistically, the only way Liverpool could be in with the slightest chance of signing Damiao is if the club finishes in the top four, and we all know that isn't going to happen.

I genuinely believe Luis Suarez will leave Liverpool this summer, and if the club can get £30-£35m for him, then Damiao looks like he could be an excellent replacement.

The added bonus with Damiao is that he has no history of diving, cheating or bad behaviour of any kind. In fact, the only evidence I could find of Damiao diving is a Scuba diving business in the town of Damiao, Brazil.

  5. By just winning the Carling Cup and the FA cup (or just by participating
to the final against Chelsea) it doesn’t justify that Kenny Dalglish is the
manager who can turn around the fortunes of this historic club. If we analyze statements of LFC’s key players such as, "Maybe that's because
we aren't good enough. It is a bit of everything; we are not playing well, we are not working the right way,” or, “an FA Cup victory will not make up for the club's poor performance in the league this season,” it is obvious that even the players indirectly admit that. As John W. Henry and Thomas Werner can hit it forward they should appoint a real winner manager
with a deep knowledge and understanding of modernized football for the new season and surround him with a Director of Football who is experienced and has a proven success career record in the field of Football!

  6. So you don't think we have any chance of getting him but if Suarez leaves he'd be a great replacement? Wonderful article! This last comment is an example of sarcasm, not irony!

stop talking about Suarez, Liverpool need a striker to play alonside Suarez not replacing Suarez, to replace Suarez we will go backwards not challenging for honours but relegation, Liverpool have got only 3 top star players and cannot be sold Gerrard, Agger and El pistolero

  8. This is more like it, im looking forward to the summer....we've been moaning about how we need a striker and to be fair it sounds like this fella would be a good replacement for Suarez, obviously i'd have to see a little more of him play etc but i do like the fact that he comes without a load of baggage aka Luis Suarez....

Carroll looks to be one to keep hold of IMO, the potential is there, the mentality needs to be strengthened a bit and confidence needs to be bolstered but he's definitely showing signs of being a very useful asset.

  14. I am against any player who:

    * Regularly dives
    * Bites other players
    * Deliberately cheats in a world cup quarter final
    * Gloats about cheating in a world cup final
    * Uses a word with racist connotations in a football match
    * Promises his manager that he'll do something then very publicly breaks that promise, bringing massive negative publicity to the club.

    * Makes offensive gestures at rival fans

    * Reveals his love for rival teams only months after arriving at LFC

    * Publicly expresses an intention to cheat in order to win a game for LFC

    Is that okay with you?

Lol thanks God ur not Liverpool manager! Suarez is class player, and big man, familly man, he dont visits bordels like Rooney(who u probably like), drink, sleep with his brother wife like Giggs, on the pitch he is just fighter, with huge passion for football, likes to dive sometimes but out off penalty area,so no much harm done. I never saw him diving in penalty area! Against Ghana he did great thing for his country,i would do the same and u would do the same to.Its only Ghana foult for missing the penalty, if they had scored no one would mention Suarez handball! And i just cant see him being racist! At all! Thats just mancs propaganda which u fall in! Shame ur Liverpool fan, Jaimie! And pls dont say im just "suarez fc" fan bcz he is part of this club and i support him like i would do any other Lfc player!

Who would your nominee to replace him be anyway?,and no the guy isn't a cheat !

  49. Keep coming across the posts you write and this time I had to post a reply. Personally I think you write this sort of trash just to get a response, if I am wrong then it has to be that you are moron and certainly in no way a LFC supporter (not just in reference to this post). Suarez's grandfather is/was black, Evra even stated Suarez is not a racist but idiots like yourself just like to stoke things up for no reason. In football there are many players who dive such as Young and Ronaldo (current and ex Manc's). And if you had taken time to watch the last three or four games Luis has not dived once, in fact he played it straight and has not been awarded obvious fouls. You just have a problem with Luis because you are Manc supporter in disguise and why would you get rid of a player who has proved his worth in the first season and who will now only improve with the first season behind him. Not everyone can hit the ground running in the PL that fast and many never will, why risk that sort of money when you really don't need to.

Suarez is unbelievably over-rated! He's good...but he's nowhere near the standard of other greats this club has been blessed with. Like I have said, the relief of the post Hodgson era and the fact Dalglish has signed some proper duds mean that Suarez has looked better than he actually is.

  60. Haha, don't exaggerate or anything (!) I love how people aways try and belittle others who have a different view to them, and always try and charcacterise them as angry/demented/depressed/abnormal/insert affliction here.

There is no vendetta - Suarez is bad for LFC, and all the fans making excuses for his behaviour prioritise the individual over the club's reputation and standing.

As I've said 100 times: I support LFC, not Suarez FC, or Dalglish FC, and I am against anything that sullies the name of the club, and Suarez has most definitely done that, and the fans who worship at his altar and condone his actions are complicit.

    ReplyDelete
  61. So I take it you have regular access to the going ons in Suarez' private life or is it just because his private life isn't in the newspapers, that guarantees he doesn't get upto any shenanigans in his private life? You can't guarantee that Suarez doesn't visit brothels, etc, unless you are some reliable confidante of Suarez.

'Ah, Suarez doesn't dive in the penalty area, so that makes it all ok'. Yikes. Some justification.

This "Manc" conspiracy theory is ridiculous! Do any of you have any idea at how pathetic it looks from the outside! For whatever Suarez does as a footballer, you have to accept as a human being, some of his actions do not befit this football club, least alone the Evra saga. The fact that you think Sir Alex sits in his James Bond villain-esque lair under a volcano, stroking a cat whilst plotting how to destruct Liverpool FC off the fields is ridiculous! Grow up and focus on Liverpool and question the merits of Suarez as a footballer and a man NOT someone who 'lost' in his battle with someone from Old Trafford, which is the real reason why so many worship him. If Suarez had done that to any other player at a club like Norwich, you wouldn't be so quick to defend him...it's just because it's United. Grow up!

Paranoia fostered by the club hierarchy, emitted by the manager and believed by fans who can't see past club allegiances over an issue of racism and the degrading comments of one human being to another.

  68. Suarez is a great player a poor finisher and certainly not somebody i would point out to my children to aspire to as a person.
There are lots of very good players out there and if Liverpool were clever 30 to 35 million coould be spent on 2 strikers that would benefit the team more if spent wisely.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Fair play for keeping the post in, anyway!!!

I wasn't belittling your opinion,  it's just that you keep harping on about the same thing. We all know you don't like him. HE probably even knows by now! I just thought you could give it a rest for a couple of days, that's all.I seem to remember that the club (and fans) stood by Jan Molby when he was sent to prison for drink-driving, which in my humble opinion is worse than anything Luis Suarez has ever done. In fact, the only LFC player I ever wanted sacked was Diouf, when he gobbed at the Celtic fan. (I'm sure someone will now immediately assume that this was to do with his colour....)I support LFC. In my mind that includes every player, manager, member of staff, even the tea lady. I don't worship at the altar of Luis Suarez, in fact he sometimes (football-wise) irritates the hell out of me. But I do love to watch him play, and I don't particularly want that to end any sooner than it needs to, just because some moral crusaders have a colossal bee in their bonnet. And as for the destruction of LFC's good name, I think I have mentioned on numerous occasions that it was forever tarnished in 1985.

  71. Here we go again; I must somehow be angry and in need of 'calming down' just because I have a different view (!) Newsflash - it's perfectly possible to express frustration about something and remain calm. I don't 'hate' any player in the league because, unlike you and countless others, I don't get personally involved in football; I don't worship players; I don't define my existence by my allegiance to a football club; I don't think football is the most important thing on earth.

  73. All fans harp on about the same thing, including you. The way you feel about Diouf is the way I feel about Suarez. On the subject of Diouf - what he did was disgraceful, but the overall impact pales in comparison to the things Suarez has done.

Having said that, if Diouf was loved by fans because of his ability (like Suarez) then the fans back then would've been defending him to the hilt too.

  79. What the fuck is wrong with you? Get behind the (whole) team for fucks sake!!! We're you there next to suarez when he supposedly abused evra? No? Didnt think so! Like everyone else i have been sickened & sometimes disgusted by the behaviour of certain people @ lfc but its not like the word of mr evra can be taken as gospel!!
You are sounding like a bitter fool, granted suarez has covered himself in glory this season but he is still a (relatively) young man in his first full season in the epl so for gods sake give him one more chance - at least the lad works for the team & is 1 of only about 2 or 3 players who can take any credit out of this awful league campaign.
I like you have exercised the right to voice my opinion & calling for the head ok KD is about as contraversial as it gets! But now comolli has gone im happy for him to have another 12 months (pre-season transfer activity depending!) so how about you now back of luis suarez for abit try getting behind him and see where we are this time next year, being booked for simulation when he was genuinly fouled would have come as abit of a shock to suarez & now his card has been marked i truely hope this will give him the kick up the backside he needs not just to perform week in week out but also stop the 'cheating'.
Lets face it it could be worse - he could be as bad as ashley young!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  80. Remember this is his first season in EPL, also that he didn't play for eight weeks and has been part of a team in transition then you would have to say he has done pretty well, but that is still not good enough for some of you!.No let's get rid of him and start over with someon else who will have to face the same challenges that he has. You havn't even seen thebest of him yet, next season you will be commenting more positively I guarantee it!

  81. P.S. thats not to say that if a bidding war ensued & suarez was sold for £30-40million then id say hell yes & ask pardew for the best parts of his excellent squad that we kindly sponsored!!

I don't think he has been as good this season as last season. Then, he lit up the Premiership and was talked about positively. This season, he has faded somewhat and been more selfish, and as such has affected the team. You might say the eight weeks has affected his flow but he has only himself to blame for that. Said in a different post him at his best wouldn't have got near the 2008/09 title challnege team. Put it this way, watching Suarez at Uruguay and Ajax before he signed didn't excite me the way Torres or any of those Bilbao players such as Munian do.

    ReplyDelete
  83. How can you say that you think Suárez will leave!!!!???

    ReplyDelete
  84. Agreed. Need another striker to play alongside him. Suarez should be here to stay. With good players, there is always another side to them. But thats what makes them good in the first place. Take it away and they will be just an ordinary player. Take Rooney for example. He can just lose it on the pitch at the spur of a moment but Sir Alex managed to keep him in check.

In any case, there are so many other cheats in the football world these days. Selling Suarez would be a big regression and not progression.

    ReplyDelete
  85. You should listen to other fans and commentators. They see Suarez and think he is awesome. I think your views are blinkered. You don't get player of the Copa America as an average player.

    ReplyDelete
  86. comparing munian to suarez!!! what do you call world-class???

    ReplyDelete
  87. And just because he did it against United, I really like him!!! Not everyone in the league has the guts to do that...that too against united!!!

    ReplyDelete
  88.  haha..thats the most ridiculous thing i've ever read. we're talking about a football player here not a guy to marry your daughter...and you forgot his teeth need some orthodontic treatment lolllllllllll

    ReplyDelete
  89. Football isn't the most important thing on Earth by a distance, but if you don't 'get personally involved' you've completely misunderstood the spirit of sport and football in particular.

  91. Does it hurt, does it hurt? Living on that knife edge?

I think it would be better for your mental health if you let all this stuff go. Carrying grudges around and hanging onto resentment is letting someone you despise live rent free in your head.

Let it go Jaime, you hardly know the bloke.

  92. JK,it seems you can't take as much as you can give.

    ReplyDelete
  93. You misunderstand me. I'm as passionate as anyone else about LFC, I just don't get involved in the ridiculous tribalism and mob mentality; I don't get offended and then attack others just because people criticise the team/players; I don't worship players/managers to the extent that my judgment becomes impaired etc
It's perfectly possible to be a fan and not behave like a yob.

Yes you can label Suarez as a dirty player but when come commitment..he give 101% for the game...suarez is talented as a player but bad behavior as a person i guess.

  95. Guys! Please Jaimie won't let it rest. Why? Because he does his very best, and is actually good at it, in trying to swim against the tide, get under peoples skins all in the name of hits. Yes hits. What brings people to this site? Controversy. The more he goes against the majority of fans the more hits his site gets and the more popular he becomes. I find nothing wrong with it, but please people don't get baited by him.

  98. Interesting to read all the comments. My take is wait till the summer transfer window and take it from there. No point in goin on and on about it. Jamie is merely suggesting a replacement for Suarez if he leaves. Or could be a new addition to the squad.

You could argue that Suarez has done damage to LFC, as has Dalglish with his ascorbic interview.
Again, as I always say it's not what people like JW Henry say it's what they don't say that counts.

Didn't Suarez intimate that if Dalglish goes he will go ?
If thats the case, then so be it Suarez can follow Dalglish out the door at the end of the season.
I'd like Suarez to stay but Dalglish to go, but if we lose Suarez in the process to remove Dalglish I'd suffer that loss.

Noted that JW Henry is on his way back to Liverpool today while Tom Werner stays in the USA.
There is something afoot here, I seriously think that JW Henry wants Dalglish out and is looking for an excuse now, like a loss at the weekend in the Premier League .

Oh Sorry forget the league it's not like it's our bread and butter or anything.
Not like the league is a TRUE REFLECTION of just how inconsistent we are .
Lets just concentrate on the Carling Cup and FA CUP and ignore the dross form in the league.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Suarez just like everybody else makes mistakes. He's young and I'm sure he'll learn from his mistakes. We all made mistakes in the past and look back and say I can't believe I've done that. When you're young you do something stupid and as grow older you improve as person and think differently. We should never try to find replacement for him. We should try try to find a better players to play with him.

    ReplyDelete
  101. jam fag suarez is goin nowhere u fool go an write ur blogs on manc sites idiot

    ReplyDelete
  102. I admit I do harp on about a lot of stuff - you should try working with me!

I disagree that fans would have backed Diouf to the hilt if he had been a better player - gobbing your bodily fluids at someone is pretty horrendous however good a footballing talent you are. (I don't want to get drawn into a ; "Is spitting more offensive than physical violence, verbal abuse or pinching" debate.)

'Spit The Diouf ' was captured on Live on TV, against a team that we have (since Hillsborough) enjoyed very cordial relations with. And it contributed to a very uneasy atmosphere coming out of the ground that evening.

I do agree it was a lot easier for the Club to let HIM go, though.

    Paul McCartney likes Suarez, anyhow!

    ReplyDelete
  103. JAmie i have immense respect for you  and beleive you have the best interest at heart for LFC, but with all due respect, i disagree with you on Suarez.  he has been victimized severall times, not even referees beleive him when he is genuinely fouled.  Look at Ashley young of MAN Ures, he has perfected the art of diving and winning penalties.  Pls give this guy a break, he can reform and be a legend of the KOP.YNWA

    ReplyDelete
  104. we only got a chance of getting him in the summer if we make the top 4, which we aint going to, but when suarez goes in the summer he wud b an ideal replacement??? so we can get im?? the best solution surely wud b keep suarez (which we will) and get him aswell..... why have 1 when we can have the 2

    ReplyDelete
  105. Get a life Jaime!!!! You are becoming ridiculous with each article you write. Your opinion is independent of you and you only and don't make it seem like its superior to anyone else's. We respect your opinion , your contribution but why go on and on like a grumpy old man? Noted  you don't like Suarez so what? So Suarez must leave because you say so? Keep dreaming Jaime because it ain't gonna happen!

    ReplyDelete
  106. suarez will stay for next season, then leave after end of next season because we will end up at 5-10 in the league table. end of story

  107. Would this be an example of the Suarez effect

    ReplyDelete
  108. AlexandarStakic939:36 am, April 18, 2012

No i dont have access to his life, but tabloids have. They would be the first to know then second day we would know to!Tabloids probably follow him wright now! And i realy dont care if player dives outside pen area! i realy dont! as long as they dont do that in pen. area!

    ReplyDelete
  109. firstly, suarez will not be leaving this summer. secondly, i love reading lfc sites, but i gotta say, this one is by far the most negative. always knocking players and wanting change.  sure your not a manc!

    ReplyDelete
  112. Suarez has proved himself in the PL and we need him next season to get to the CL, off course there are quality additions that are badly needed to improve the squad but 40 ml is way too much for this guy.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Alot of players dive, Gerrard has done it many times, Garcia etc.  If we bought players that didn't dive we would have to rule out a lot of players.  I don't like to see players dive either but it's here to stay, young just got united 2 pens from diving and that will prob win them the league.  Where's the incentive to stay on your feet?

    ReplyDelete
  114. So you don't think we have any chance of getting him? Bit of a waste of an 'article'!

  116. Ah yes, tabloids are so reliable(!) Great source(!) Giggs was doing the dirty for years but the tabloids only found out last year. Load of nonsense, to rely so heavily on tabloids as to what players get upto off the pitch as soon as they do it.

    ReplyDelete
  117. Why go on about Munian he's not going to a team not in the champs league.  So we sell Suarez then have to look for better player that wants to play in the europa league Yes?

  120. During the handshake debacle, its not like Suarez cared what Dalglish did/thought (sadly, made a fool of KK), so unlikely his future at the club is tied to what Dalglish's.

  125. Leandro is a gifted finisher but the price tag is ludicrous... He has a buy out clause under 20m.
As a replacement for Suarez...it makes very little sense, Damaio is a physical forward with gr8 technique and ability to score goals but he does not offer the same explosive ability Suarez has, nor does he have above average pace...In all honesty Damaio is an ideal upgrade to Andy Carroll

If we want to move Suarez, there are a lot of better replacements than Damaio , e.g. Jovetic, G.Ramirez, Huntelaar, Higuain, Loic Remy, F.Torres, Soldado, Falcoa, Hulk, etc....

  129. hahaha, but I want LFC to be a menace to society! Look at United, they have cheats and scumbags and nobody stops them from winning games!! So whatever JK has against Suarez, is of no importance to our real goals. I think Suarez is golden for us! Only problem is if he shows signs of unfaithfulness to our club!

    ReplyDelete
  139. Yes, everyone should have the same homogenised view; there's no room for differing opinions. In fact, anyone with an opinion that doesn't match yours should be put against a wall and shot for insurrection. There must only ever be *one* POV about Liverpool, and that must be: follow the status quo; never question anything, and always attack anyone who veers from the group view of the club.

    Sign me up!

  140. Ahhhh here we go again, so i cant express my views?

  150. What are you not understanding about this? Your comment where you said you were disgusted by some of the comments *did not get deleted!* - What are you moaning about, exactly?

    ReplyDelete
  151. Hey, now its you missing the point. if i could only copy and paste i'd show you exactally what i'm talking about. I'll take the morral highground here and just leave it. I'll kjeep my thoughts to myself. Read everything again, it might help. I genuinley did not want to get into an argument but its nearly impossible on here. Lets just leave it at that hey. I know what i was saying, in very simple terms that i read all the comments on here and some made me sad. That should of been the end of it, however your the one who jumped on my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Hey Jamie i like how you said that the ONLY WAY you see LFC getting  Leandro is if we finish in the top four which is not going to happen. Then to get everyone going you had to say but if LFC could get 30-35mill for SUAREZ he would be a great replacement. We no you hate him but really do you have to bag him in every post because that is not journalism that is childish mate and you will lose the respect of the few fans that you do have. I would like to put a question to you do you care about what you write or is it about getting the hits, now lets see if you can be as honest as the most honest man in the EPL Suarez, no matter what the repercussions.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Fans are of the opinion that Suarez is a world class player and deserves a chance to maybe right the wrongs he has done. WE want LFC to be successful(You are the most ever critical person who claims to be a fan) Before I get the sarcastic response that you are LFC fan and not individual players etc... I get it!!!
But do not knock other fans who appreciate Suarez for what he is actually very good at!! You say that there are plenty of other players with such quality out there, why cant we find them!!!!We find a quality player with issues and you moan! We find an in demand striker who has been shite and you moan!!Tell me what and who you need to make you actually happy JK!! Can just imagine you sat all gloomy watching Andy Carroll head in against Everton!! Oh no it was all about the delivery because it was Bellamy crossing!!If it were Downing, he just put it into an area!!!!!!
Find it weird I am on an LFC website arguing the toss with a so called LFC fan the worth of Luis Suarez!! KK has done more for LFC than Me, you and everyone, he has given Suarez a chance to redeem himself, just let it go JK.
Or suggest you move to support a team with all the morals etc... you need, modern day football has changed and If I were Suarez I would have saved that ball against Ghana and I would expect 80% modern day players do the same!!As for Cheating??Gamesmanship more like!!!

    ReplyDelete
  154. No, youre wrong. according to this guy we need more players to be nice to their granmas, to kiss more often to their wifes and children before each game, to cook nice meals every now and then to their teammates and why not to have a beer with opposite players and fans right after games...

Lets show the premier league..Liverpool are back.

  164. Suarez won't go if Kenny does, it's paper talk (or bog paper talk). Suarez has indicated that he's staying at Anfield, probably because he's privvy to information that we are'nt. Should it transpire that what he's told will happen, does'nt, they he may be off, like Torres.

  169. I've NEVER commented on here before, but I can honestly say Suarez will not be leaving this summer... Everything that has come from him in the last few weeks suggests he's more than happy to stay. Even if for some peculiar reason Suarez were to leave...Why on earth you'd suggest signing ANOTHER unproven 35 million pound striker is baffling.... Damien is that you lol?

Newcastle have shown perhaps with luck on their side that 10million is more than enough to buy a goalscorer

    ReplyDelete
  170. And your not blinkered, Jaimie ??

    ReplyDelete
  171. I've only seen the guy play a couple of times for Brazil, and I certainly didn't see any $40m caliber talent!

I think that that kind of money is crazy for any player that isn't 'guaranteeing' a goal or assist every game on average though. Damiao is nowhere near that level, and so is worth nowhere near that amount.
    In my opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  172. I'm sure some people think so, but I don't believe I am...but then I would say that :-)
