Wayne Rooney: Luis Suarez should've been sent off against Spurs...

Luis Suarez's return to action against Spurs last night was not enough to inspire Liverpool to victory, but once again, the Uruguayan sparked a major talking point. This time, Suarez kicked Scott Parker when trying to get the ball, and received a yellow card for his trouble. Any fair-minded person can see that it was clearly accidental, but as all Liverpool fans know, Manchester United thug Wayne Rooney is anything but fair-minded.

As you can see below, Suarez had his eyes firmly fixed on the ball at all times. His attempt to get the ball was wildly off target, and a yellow card was deserved, but I sincerely doubt there was any intention to deliberately kick Parker. Not even Suarez would be that stupid.

Having said that, watch the clip closely: Suarez's eyes are focused on the ball, but at the moment he actually kicks Parker, he's looking straight at him. Perhaps he was just anticipating where the ball would end up...?

During the game, Wayne Rooney - who has been booked for diving on several occasions throughout his Man United career, suggested on twitter that Suarez deserved to be sent off:

In his post-match press conference, Kenny Dalglish argued that Suarez 'just never saw' Parker, and when asked about Rooney's tweet, he responded:

"I don't have a view on what was tweeted, especially when I've not seen it. If Wayne Rooney was standing there and asked me the question, I could answer him, but unless he wants to ask me the question, I think I'll just plead the fifth amendment".

Former referee Graham Poll agreed with Rooney. He told The Daily Mail:

"As Wayne Rooney correctly tweeted, Suarez should have been sent off. The FA cannot act retrospectively as Suarez was shown a yellow card".

Is Rooney right? Did Suarez deserve to be sent off?

  2. i dont see how suarez was being malicious in any way. He wasn't even lookin at parker, he was following the ball. rooney has always had it out for Liverpool, seeing as how he's a toffee boy and a manc. There are only two good teams in England and they're Liverpool f.c and Liverpool reserves. YNWA!

  4. That shows that rooney is scared. And coming from an absolute diver speaks for itself. Wonder if rooney is practising his dives for the London Olympics. Good Luck Roo, you still have much to learn before you get any better then Cristiano Ronaldo. The best diver of the lot. Bunch of cheats.

  5. And as if kicking Parker like that wasn't enough Suarez thought he would try and take Scotty's eyes out. (See attached image) The sooner the diving, racist, thug leaves English football the better.

You write 'He has his eyes fixed on the ball" then you completely contradict yourself by then continuing, "saying that, at the last minute he looks at Parker'. Of course he kicked him and knew exactly what he was doing. It just goes to show he would be, and is, really THAT stupid.

If you see when the ball is first in the air, he sees Parker and shoves him out the way. Then he kicks him. Simple. No excuses or biased reasoning needed. He got lucky

  9. Another Tool!!! Wow its like shopping at HOMEBASE...just read the comment from DOGlish...Suarez should never been banned wow!!! Just like Hillsborough wasn't the dumb Scousers fault..It was the fault of the Police that day cause they didn't have enough tickets to hand out to those losers who MURDERED their own by storming the turnstiles!!! Just keep on sinking...

  10. Typical Scouse mentality, it doesn't matter what Rooney has or hasn't done, the Comments are about what Suarez did in This Game,

As he kicks Scotty Parker in the Stomach he is looking right at him,
It doesn't take a genius to see that Suarez is a Nasty piece of Work
And will fit in well at Liverpool, Skyrtle has probably taught him all his tricks

Oh and here's a link for you. Have a look at the pic of the incident and notice that the ball is above Parkers head at the time...

  12. It is hilarious that somebody would defend Suarez by calling out the other party as a diver. You realize that Suarez is the worst diver of them all, don't you? Oh yeah that is right, you are wearing your rose colored glasses and can't be bothered with the fact that Suarez is despicable. Biter/Serial Diver/Screams at Refs/.....Racist.

  15. Rooney's free to give an opinion Jaimie ... just like you are ... also most people in the comments section are discrediting his opinion because he is 'thick' ... says a lot about Liverpool fans ... Even I am inclined to think Suarez did this on purpose because he is capable ... I will give him the benefit of doubt since one cannot be sure and he did have the right to go for that ball .. actually a yellow card was perfect ... it was at best a late challenge and at worst a kick in the stomach.

  17. if you look at the video Suarez first pushed Parker from behind , he would and should have known he is nearby ( in range) . For him to kick so extravagantly does not look as though he had no idea what he was doing  Did he expect Parker to vanish in thin air? Believe me Suarez is a pretty good footballer but these kind of shenanigans do not put him in good light

  18. Rooney is a bag of cack, never right, and the last one on earth to be moralising! The media drones just want another story – and there isn’t one here. The ball was in the air and he was trying to put it in the net – he didn’t see Parker. Why would he just boot Parker in the stomach in full view of the ref? Use your brain before opening your mouths. This racism thing isn’t just black and white – the lynch mob going after Suarez, an immigrant with poor command of the language, is a form of racism too. Stop trying to make scapegoats out of foreign players – it makes us look bad around the world!

    ReplyDelete
  19. He didn't see Parker??? So who was it he pushed just before the ball came down then? Never mind us using our brains you should use your eyes mate. ;o)

    ReplyDelete
  20. He started swinging his leg already before seeing Parker.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I don't think Suarez was anticipating Parker would have regained his footing to head the ball. He didn't look at Parker till his foot left the ground, by which time King arrived to prop Parker forward. It was an accident.

  26. What is Kenny Daglish smoking... he is cocking up the reputation of LFC with total impunity from the management and supporters. Saurez is a dirty , racist player and KD is supporting him , not once reprimanding him . LFC's a club with a good repuataion that is being tarnished by a manager without balls and a player who will be remembered for racism, dirty play and a rogue from the 2010 WC

    ReplyDelete
  27. Do you really want to suggest that Saurez has so little vision that he does not know that Parker is half a yard away from him?? Even if he was looking at the ball he knew Parker was about to header the ball clear.... he is a piece of work that cheats all the time as the Ghanians will tell you!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Whatever it is, Why Rooney has to comment on it ? He should keep his mouth shut! He doesn't let 2 months pass without a major controversial event related to him!
Suarez should tweet about him as well when something happens next time.

    ReplyDelete
  29. he didnt do it on purpose otherwise he would have walked off straight away instead of looking over him to make sure he was orite, did anyone notice suarez say something to parker after he came back on the field and parker patting on the back ? im sure if scott parker isnt gonna make a big deal out of it, neither so anyone else.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I actually feel sorry for Parker. We can go on about who is thick and who is a cheat but just spare a thought for poor scotty parker. I woudn't wanna be kicked in the stomach like that !!! Also Balotelli stamped on his face, what do the premier league players have against him - he seems to be a perfectly nice guy.

    ReplyDelete
  31. A scouser pay taxes? Hahahahah!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. He pushed him away first, to get him at the right distance, then kicked him as hard as he could... Clear red card offence.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hahaha nice name there mate!!! Come on here and BenD over :D

Suarez gave a nudge to scott with the hope that it will put him off balance and miss the header. He then tried to volley it cause he always try to anticipate every one. That's why he is so good cause while others are looking at the ball travelling in the air and thinking about heading it he is already making things happen. By giving a nudge or getting in front of the defender to shield the ball.

As for anyone suggesting he is kicking scott on purpose they must really watch the footage closely. He only drops his eyes on scott when the ball is almost touching parker's head. And the obvious reason for that is because he was looking at the flight of the ball!!

    YNWA Luis Suarez

  34. Suaraz is an animal - biting, kicking, diving.  Dalglish doesn't care - as long as he wins him games - in fact he will use any criticism to develop  his sectarian 'Pool' in the hope that it will make the team stronger.  Not great sportsmanship but a proven winning strategy.  There are better ways . . .

    ReplyDelete
  35. If Suarez did think that parker has lost his footing then its even worse. Was he targeting his head

    ReplyDelete
  36. "Any fair minded person can see that it was purely accidental".

I'm still laughing at this. The only way that can be accidental is if suarez thinks that scotty parker has dematerialized over the course of a second, or if his push has thrown him out of the way. If luis suarez was the sort of person who couldn't detect the presence of someone within foot swinging distance, then he would never have made it as a professional footballer.

And why do you bring up that wayne rooney dived in the past Jaimie? Why didn't you for instance mention that later in the game, luis suarez controlled the ball with his hand, took a shot at goal, turned around and loudly looked for a handball, and when the ref gave the freekick against him for the original handball he threw a ridiculous tantrum that should have seen him booked.

I'm starting to worry about poor king kenny's sanity. He's standing there fighting off the Hordes of reality, armed with only the fearsome sword of Denial. Those guys in 300 had it easy compared to king Kenny

    ReplyDelete
  37. Right........ok so Suarez nudged Parker then kicked him in the stomach because he anticipated Parker missing it.....because in your words he "anticipates everything".....

Maybe this is why he has only scored 4 goals in the league because he didnt even go close to the ball, he struck him in the belly when parker headed the ball.

Amazing biast comment, I admit Bale dived around like a bitch tonight and it was disgusting, he is probably getting ready for spain, but you guys have blind love for this cheating, racist, diving mug of a player who although talented is a disgusting individual.

Also you guys failed to beat us when we had Kaboul, Gallas, Lennon, VDVaart, Sandro, Huddlestone and Defoe.........you deserve no better than 7th place.

No champions league for the past 3rd approaching 4th season....yet Liverpool vs Man Utd is still the biggest game in world football right.........with that blind ignorance surely Nottingham Forest vs Ipswich is a fffing massive game........perfectic side, perfectic strikers, perfectic league position.

    ReplyDelete
  38. A scouser pays taxes on his Doll money, you ignorant bitch

    ReplyDelete
  39. Oh yeh because he must be terrified of Suarez and his lethal strike ratio........lets face facts man united have 16 points more than Liverpool and 20 more goals for a reason.....they dont fear Liverpool as they are much better.

After the mess up that happened last night and after the Old Trafford match Liverpool will finally be confirmed as out of the race for 4th place.

Then we can focus on Newcastle, Arsenal and Chelsea

  40. Considering LFC are having a really dry spell as far as trophies go, over the last 20 years they have managed some silverware; European Cup Winners, 2004-05 *** FA Cup Winners 1991-92, 2000-01, 2005-06 *** League Cup Winners, 2000-01, 2002-03 *** UEFA Cup Winners, 2000-01 *** European Super Cup Winners, 2001, 2005 *** FA Charity Shield Winners, 2001, 2006 *** Carlsberg Trophy, 1999-2000...
NOT TO BAD FOR A DRY SPELL, IM SURE MOST OTHER TEAMS WOULD LIKE THAT IN THERE CABINET...

  41. what? Its called pretending to care and to cover up what he did.

  42. Sorry JK but to me, that kick by Suarez was deliberate. The timing of the kick says it all. The 'eyes' excuse doesn't cut it. There is no way the ball is going to come down quick enough in tandem with the quickness of the way Suarez attempts to kick the ball. The timing of the kick isn't in line with the pace of the flight of the ball. It is so blatant. No doubt in my mind that he did it on purpose.

Loads of 'famous' people have said it was deliberate but for inflammatory purposes you have chosen Rooney, to continue your little agenda.

    How very tabloid of you.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Not sure why JK brings up Rooney's diving history, when this is about potential violent conduct. More relevant to bring up Rooney's history on that, than on diving. Especially when Suarez is more prolific at cheating.

  44. Hello POT KETTLE BLACK.
There's evidence of him deliberately elbowing people and kicking them in the back, vast difference to What Suarez did.

    ReplyDelete
  45. PS Scott Parker should have been sent off but was extremely fortunate not to get a booking for his first foul. Fact.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Suarez could commit genocide and some of these Liverpool fans would still defend him to the max.

Mad their hero worshiping of him, considering all he has done and its not as if his goal record is good

    ReplyDelete
  47. Have any of you guys thinking this is intentionally ever been playing as a striker? As a striker you are mentally thinking to take any opportunity to score goals. In this case Suarez is looking in the air (at the ball) while swinging his foot back. In the moment he is looking down to kick the ball his muscles are tensioned to full force, and even though he now realizes that he is going to miss the ball and kick Parker, its too late.

It's that simple and I have done this myself (unintentionally).

    ReplyDelete
  48. The ball was far too high. Any decent player would know that kicking early like Suarez did would mean he wouldn't get the ball. So blatant that the kick was far too early to be justified as a legit attempt at getting the ball.

    ReplyDelete
  49. The Suarez eye-gouge on Parker wasn't pretty too

    Move on.

He has always been agitated towards the media but this time he is pushing his luck too much

  61. You have to look more carefully. Suarez is NOT kicking Parker when Parker heads the ball. The ball is falling down at an acceleration of 9.81 m/s2. If you don't see this I can't help you.

No shame on Parker though:-). Him moving away was just a funny twist to illustrate what would have happened in that case...

    ReplyDelete
  62. Rooney has got a right to his opinion, just like the rest of us, otherwise forums like this wouldn't exist.  BTW I can't stand the man, but I believe in freedom of speech.  It was his opinion - get over it.

I've looked at the Suarez/Parker incident a few times, and still can't make my mind up.  He deffo pushes him as the ball is coming down.  Parker to his credit stands tall, and Suarez does have his eyes on the ball.  In my opinion, just my opinion, he raises his leg, badly mistimes it and Parker gets it full in the stomach.  Yellow definately....red, could have been, but have seen worse.  Don't think it was an out and out malicious kick, but then again I'm not a Spurs fan!

Have to agree about the comment above about Parker lucky to still be on the pitch.  Tackle on Gerrard was a bad one (yellow), and he had made a similar tackle previously and gotten away with it, but hey that is footy.
    Good player nonetheless.

Makes me laugh at all these self righteous fans going on about Suarez being a racist....read the 115 page FA report.....really read it, don't just take the excerpts printed by the gutter press.  You will see how heavily one sided it is in favour of Evra.  I can see why LFC continue to defend their striker.  I would too.  They are not condoning racism in any way shape or form.  That is just the easy and uneducated view to take.  They are supporting someone who they don't believe to be guilty of the charges against him.  They accepted the judgement....anyone would have.  The FA have a 99.5% success rate in convictions - so an appeal would have been futile.  The Crown Prosecution Service only have an 80% success rate (JT should be OK then - joke).  Oh and in the FA report and a statement made by Patrice Evra - both say they don't believe him to be a racist.  He admitted saying Negro in Spanish once......Evra said he called me ni****  5 times (but Evra , no sorry 10 times, back to 5 times, and the independant panel added on another 2 just because he probably did!!!!

Spurs fans don't make me laugh....I have heard a lot worse on the terraces at White Hart lane! In fact in my 24 odd years of following football, home & away, I have heard much much worse.  I have been verbally abused, spat at, had coins thrown at me, all by men and I am a woman.  They used to shout "loadsa money" in the 80's but the cheap arse that threw the coin at my head only threw a 2p!

It would also be interesting to see if England fans spew as much bile in JT's direction, or is it OK for him to say what he said (TV evidence - I wasn't on the pitch) because he is English?  Just a thought.  Piara Power has had very little to say about the incident, but had hung Suarez out to dry before the FA, sorry independant panel chosen by the FA, gave their verdict!

    Anyway rant over....

    ReplyDelete
  63. Balottelli steps on Parker's head, while looking the other way and everyone on here says it is 100% deliberate. Suarez kicks Parker while looking straight at him and everyone says it is accidental. The only reason i would be inclined to not believe it is deliberate is because it is difficult to see why, even, Suarez would do this. Had it been Ledley King, however.................. Or, better still, if he takes Evra out like that on Saturday................. All of a sudden, Suarez's position and Kenny's auto defence does not look so safe. In case the Man Utd fans had forgotten, Suarez is coming to town this weekend. Rooney is just starting the friendly banter that Kenny loves. I think we still will get our comeuppance for our stupid attitude earlier in the season.
Actually, the one that we did get away with was Skrtel on Bale, that was dangerous and i think he was lucky to stay on the pitch.

    ReplyDelete
  64. It really annoys me when Gerrard will stick up for Rooney and rant and rave at Mancini on  rooneys behalf, yet he stays completely silent over Suarez and is happy for Rooney to stick the knife into suarez.same as the american owners Gerrard never once criticised them. Why would Gerrard rather stick up for Rooney when Rooney is trying to stir it,it is unbelievable. If Dalglish had any guts he would taake the captaincy off gerrard and give it to a fantastic guy in suarez who is interested in helping LFC and not pandering to Rooney.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I hope your judgement in a car is not as bad as kicking a football. I trust youve never played?

He would have missed by miles!

Btw, Suarez is an utter low life & the sooner someone breaks his leg the better (of course, trying to kick the ball)

    ReplyDelete
  66. How can you say he didn't know he was there ?? Watch the very start of the video, He Fucking  pushes him !!!

    ReplyDelete
  67. The only person that truly knows what happened on the night is Luis Suarez. I was watching the game live, and i have to admit my first thought was that he deliberately kicked Parker. When I look at it again, I'm of the same mind. The ball has landed on Parker's head and travelled away from both of them well before Suarez looks down at Parker's mid section and gives him the chop. These things all happen pretty quickly, and unfortunately I think think Suarez is the type of guy to lose control a little too often in those split second moments.

    ReplyDelete
  68. If Suarez was even looking slightly in Scotty's direction his periferal vision would have told him a person was there. To claim he didn't see him from that distance and be able to pull back a kick is ridiculous. If however it is true maybe we should all chip in to get him a white stick and a blind dog?
