Most Liverpool fans hope that Kenny Dalglish will be manager of Liverpool for many years to come, but the day will inevitably come when the King will have to retire. The Liverpool job is undoubtedly one of the most sought after in world football, and Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins believes when Dalglish leaves the club, there are two current Premier League managers who will be near the top of the replacement list.
As a result of ingrained denial, many fans simply refuse to accept that Swansea played Liverpool off the field at Anfield earlier in the season.
It gives me no pleasure to admit that but it's true; Liverpool's players were chasing shadows for much of the game, and that was down to pace, movement, skill, and overall brilliance of the Swansea team that day.
That performance was not a one-off either; Swansea have played well all season, and that's largely down to the footballing philosophy of manager Brendan Rogers, who has guided the Swans to 11th in the league in their first ever season in the Premier league.
Speaking to the South Wales Evening Post, Swansea City Chairman Huw Jenkins was resigned to the fact that sooner or later, the league's big clubs will be in for Rodgers. He argued:
"Given the way we have performed as a club and the football we have played, it's quite natural that our manager is going to be linked to other clubs.
"Whether it is Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool or whoever, we better get used to the fact that our manager is going to be mentioned if those jobs come up.
"Brendan and Norwich's Paul Lambert are probably going to be mentioned whenever a job comes up. That's just a fact of life."
Rodgers and Lambert: What do you think? Are they serious contenders to take over from Dalglish when he leaves the club, or will the Owners go for an experienced, high profile manager with European experience?

Think jamie might be up for it but these two have done great jobs with the clubs they are at and big clubs will look at them
two great young managers.
look at lamberts centre halfs-ayala and whitbread-2 players who couldn't get a sniff at lfc.i'd rather have kept ayala ahead of buying coates.
the football both those sides play is a joy to watch.
The two managers need to be applauded for the type of footie they set their players play. The pressure of managing Liverpool is a different kind of pressure of managing Swansea or Norwich. People can say oh it's alright if you play attacking football. Though that is not true as you look at some of the comments of our own fans.
I wouldn't know who should take over Kenny when he quits, not that managers out their who jump out at you

its time for liverpool fc to go for the best young english manager instead of players. Brendon Rodgers is the answer! What more proof you need, with strict budgets, unproven players, no stars at all, they outplayed most of the teams in BPL ! Come on LFC, its not in the past, we must change to survive in the new era. Act fast before its too late !
Hopefully, whenever King Kenny's rein cometh an end, Liverpool will be in a position to nab an experienced manager with a proven record at the highest level.
If liverpool are not in that position (e.g. for the past 2-3 years), perhaps we should consider a younger, hungrier manager who has had success at guiding a team to titles. The fact is Ferguson was already a winner at Aberdeen before he Jumped ship to United.Also another interesting note: Ferguson (UK), Ancelotti, Del Bosque, Capello, Mancini, Benitez, Dalglish, Houllier, Hiddink each led teams to titles in their home countries. Maybe LFC could consider a 'local' - a Rodgers or Lambert if we cannot attract the marque manager we crave.

Experience is over-rated imo (Sven is a perfect example of a manager whose reputation exceeds his talent, and even Ancellotti was leading Chelsea down a slippery slope before being made to look a hero in his (deserved) sacking) but the time to take a risk has come and gone.
I would've been happy with Bilic replacing Benitez, but now we need a manager with a big reputation just for the mere fact that our club's reputation is dwindling, which will make it tougher/more expensive to attract the better talents from around Europe...

Being from Northern Ireland I'm fully aware of it's political history. Being the north of Ireland, as you put it, makes it no more Irish than Scotland is the north of England. Try looking at a map, and the wee red line you see is called a border. The uk is made up of four countries, and it does not include the Republic of Ireland. Buddy

Maybe we will approach one of by Christmas after Dalglish wastes another 110 million or so on sh te players and we ae languishing aba 9th in the league after the spineless chokers draw another 6 at home and lose at dross like Bolton.
Actually I think you will find it is. Great Britain is made up of England Scotland and Wales, and up to 1000 smaller islands. One of which is Northern Ireland.

Liverpool will want a manager with european experience, I'm not saying the swansea manager could not do the job. But if you look at Mancinie at city, he is doing a great job in the prem, but has been found wanting in europe. and that is with a great squad at his disposal.
So if and when KK decides to leave, we are in europe, we will need a manager with experience for us to do well in those type of competitions.

Robson, box to box ankle breaker, great awareness, 90min of effort; as a manager, teams with no spine, all flash and flair... he brought juninho to 'borough!! It's not a straightforward as you think...

I respect Rafa and where he took Pool in his first few years however the FACHT is that he did have 6 years to build a team but we still only managed to compete in 08/09. Think Benitez has had his shot.
Mancini flopped every year with Inter too before watching Mourinho come in to show him how it's done. He won his titles by default too. As far as I'm concerned, he's just an average manager that has inflated stats due to good fortune rather than his own acumen. Man City SHOULD be walking the Premiership with that squad, so he's doing nothing more than meeting minimum standards!
City will win the Premiership sooner or later.. BTW I'm no Mancini supporter but he did win 3 league titles and and 4 domestic cups in 4 years..
