Jamie Carragher admits: "It's been very disappointing..."

Liverpool defensive stalwart Jamie Carragher has revealed his frustration over the club's failure to reach a final or a semi-final of a domestic cup competition since 2006.

Carra, who helped Liverpool keep a clean sheet against Chelsea in the recent Carling Cup quarter final, told LFC TV:

"The minimum Liverpool should be looking at each season is getting to the semi-final of one of the cup competitions, either the FA Cup or the Carling Cup.

"We haven't done that enough in the last few years, and that's been very disappointing.

"We've done it this year though, and hopefully we can go on"

Carra is aware that the clock is ticking on his career at the top level, and he's desperate to play at the new Wembley before finally hanging up his boots:

"I think about that a lot to be honest, and I realise I'm not that far away from retiring from football, so it's something I'd love to do.

"At the moment, we're in with a great chance, and hopefully we can capitalise on it".

  1.  Hopefully we can get to Wembely this year without our key players and show the world that Liverpool is not a one-man team.
