Ian Rush played alongside Kenny Dalglish in the 1980s, and was later worked under him during the King's first spell in charge at Anfield. Clearly, Rushie is in a unique position to know exactly what Kenny brings to the club.
Speaking to The Times of India, Rush - who doesn't appear to have any management ambitions of his own - revealed is happy to see that one of Liverpool's key principles is being upheld:
"What Kenny brings to the club is the thought that no one is bigger than the team, but he does that without hurting any of the players’ sentiments".
"Players have to realise they win nothing as individuals. Kenny will never criticise players in public, but will make sure he has a word with them in private.
"In the 80s, we were called a ‘family club’ because of this. Now things may be different and the managers need to speak with the press, but the principles remain the same"
This season, Dalglish this season has repeatedly made the point that club business should be conducted behind closed doors, and the Daniel Agger 'headless chickens' incident aside, that's the way it has been since his return to the Anfield hotseat.
Long may it continue.

Still bullshit coming from you mate! Haven't you noticed that Agger's incident has had a massive impact on the team? The players have responded magnificently! We admire players with a fighting spirit!
ReplyDeleteYa, Kenny is a truly professional and self discipline person.
ReplyDeleteJaimie, I am going to challenge you to provide some evidence of your ridiculous claim to have 1m Liverpool fans visit this site every month.
ReplyDeleteYou may possibly achieve 1m hits on all your pages in that period, but it is a blatant falsehood to claim that as 1m unique visitors.
