SEPP BLATTER: Ignorant, incompetent, and a disgrace to football

In a grotesque display of gargantuan imbecility, FIFA's pernicious President Sepp Blatter has vomited out the opprobrious opinion that there is 'no racism in football'.

When asked by CNN World Sport if he thought there was racism on the pitch, the man who runs world football (!) disgorged the following contemptible claptrap:

"I would deny it. There is no racism, there is maybe one of the players towards another, he has a word or a gesture which is not the correct one.

"But also the one who is affected by that, he should say that this is a game. We are in a game, and at the end of the game, we shake hands, and this can happen, because we have worked so hard against racism and discrimination.

"I think the whole world is aware of the efforts we are making against racism and discrimination. And on the field of play sometimes you say something that is not very correct, but then at the end of the game, the game is over and you have the next game where you can behave better."

Only someone possessed of Olympian levels of stupidity could spew out an opinion dripping with so much oafish irony.

At first glance, you'd be forgiven for thinking this was just some poisonous, prehistoric piss-take, but Blatter was deadly serious in his interview, and his views just re-emphasise the irredeemable ignorance of the man.

Blatter is a disgrace to football. He's clearly not fit to run the world game, and he should be forced to resign in shame.

Additionally, the FA - which is dealing with two high-profile race-rows at the moment - needs to release a statement condemning Blatter's comments, and reiterating its commitment to stamping out racism in football.

Don't hold your breath though; the FA is too spineless to take a stand against FIFA, and if I was a conspiracy theorist, I would highlight the odd confluence of events today, specifically Luis Suarez's FA charge being made public only hours after Blatter's comments...

But I'm not a conspiracy theorist, so I won't highlight it.

Blatter OUT!

  8. The English FA will never punish an MU player only Suarez being charged. Remember how Eric Cantona got way with cummunity serveice for the infamous kung fu kick on the fans. Had he been a Liverpool player, he might be banned for life.
