PEPE REINA reveals some depressing info about Andy Carroll...

Pepe Reina can always be relied upon to spill his guts in the media, and earlier today, he gave his opinion on who he feels are the best and worst performers during Liverpool's training sessions.

Reina's choices may surprise some fans:

"The best trainer for me is Jay Spearing. He tries always his best, and gives 100% in ever single training session".

That's a nice vote of confidence for Spearing, and if he continues to train well then maybe he'll get more chances in the first team.

What about the worst trainer at Liverpool? Reina's choice may or may not be surprising, but it's definitely a little depressing:

"If I have to pick one, it would be Andy Carroll probably, because he doesn't move too many yards to be honest. It has to be him".

I'm not sure it's wise to answer a question like that in public, but having said that, there seems to be a direct correlation here between Carroll's performance in training and his performance on the pitch.

Reina also revealed Jamie Carragher's distaste for one of his rather disturbing pre-match rituals:

"I think Carra doesn't like me to fist him before the game. He always gives me a high five now instead of the fist".

Who can blame him? A high-five is surely always preferable to being fisted, especially before a game ;-D

  1. Yes i saw this interview today too,and to be honest i was shocked and a little
p....d off! liverpool really need to grab the big geordie, shove him in a bath, cut that stupid pony-tail off, give him a shave, tell him to lose a few pounds by getting him to run round the block a few times after training and if he dont change his attitude and knuckle down give him his marching orders!

  2. I don't think any Liverpool fan wanted Andy Carroll and to pay 35 million! I'm not jumping on the bandwagon He's just not a Liverpool style player with our pass and move system and now he's a lazy sod too..

  3. A.Carroll should start earning his facking wages hes like a over worked facking donkey like you see on the charity adverts.
He is soo slow and will only get slower and soo much for being good in the air he cant score a header 5 yards out.
WHY THE HELL DIDNT WE JUST BUY CROUCH BACK!!!!!!
WHY THE HELL DID WE SELL CROUCH IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!!
35M BIGGEST WASTE OFF MONEY IN ENGLISH TRANSFER HISTORY!!!!!!!

L.Suarez and C.Tevez is a partnership that  would send shivers down the spine of any defence in the world.
Id also like to see G.Cahill and A.Johnson brought in,This line up is a top 4 spot for sure.

  10. lets remember, andy is going on a 12month boot camp, this including that daft hair cut being cut, everything to his eating and drinking, his personal and professional lifestyle being watched through an eye of a needle.  This is probably his last chance, if done correctly, i believe he will come up trumps, little ball skill, extra fitness with little bit of speed then he'll come good, these are all possible, i also believe when he gets into the correct positions he has the best left foot in the league, this will only get better, lets not also forget, he's had very little playing time, plus a goal disallowed against sunderland which was a disgraceful decision and if he had more playin time n confidence he'd be hittin the net instead of posts, and with no  more than 6/7 90 minute spells this would have him are leading goal scorer as it stands, these are facts, the big man needs a break, not the prettiest on the eye, but he DOES produce, and with bit of confidence and nudge from kenny he'll produce more, look at kuyt, probably one of our least skillful player, but boy he produces, give andy some of kuyts hard work and only a blind fool will say he wont produce, I'll throw something else in the mix, 35mill prob was 20mill too much, BUT he's not for right now, and his wage, i think i'm correct, but from what i know it 60k!!!!! thats right 60K, to me that balances the books a little.

I'm not jumping to his defence but people need to remember we're building a team for the near future, a sustainable team, one that will be ripe in 2/3 years, not on its last legs like chelski.  Kenny said a little time and faith, he didnt say it'll happen over night, LETS HAVE FAITH YNWA, long live the King

  11. Adam Johnson just signed a new contract, not a chance. Tevez is even more unlikely :P

  12. What exactly is your point of saying , "if this" and "if that"? We do not live in a land of "if's" .

  13. You can tell by looking at a player whether he is good enough. Henderson I have more hope in, as you can see glimpes of talent there. Maybe in the future henderson will be good but then he will demand more money or leave , because hed be coming to the end of his contract.Beacuse loyalty dont exist no more. With Carroll you see lazyness. He falls down like an oak tree. I still have not seen anything in him that suggest he will be good for the future. But I hope I am wrong!!

  14. hendo will come good his will be our next gerrard no doubt in that.... the longer he is at the club and more playing time he is getting we will see it just look at his run against chelsea last weekend get use to it coz that will be a regular thing.... as for carroll he defo needs a diet and fitness plan which the club have done, but even then i think every time he plays we go for the long ball tactics and it just doesn't work..... we'll have to wait and see if kenny was righ about it im not sure would have rather spent that 35mill aguero but in kenny we trust!!!!

  15. i really thought carraghaer would like to be fisted, maybe he would prefer stevie g. to pepe

  16. not even worth 10% of that..! we could have had daniel sturridge..when torres went to chelski.!

    ReplyDelete
  17. That should have been the deal.£30 plus Sturridge.
At the time I think Chelsea would have jumped at that.
But not now. Sturrige's value has gone past that of Torres.

  18. Ya, Reina would call a spade a spade.

    ReplyDelete
  19. People always fall foul of not looking at facts, if you followed it correctly you would know that liverpool were pushing as hard as they could to have sturridge as part of the deal, but chelsea wouldnt budge, then we tried it with anelka, again chelsea wouldnt budge.  Its just like people say we coulda got augero for 3mill more, he didnt wanna come, for one city were in champions league and are further developed than us, two, liverpool wouldnt be able to offer the the 220000 a week wage.  Our options are limited for top quality players at the minute and people need to clean their eye lids to see this, we need champions league on offer to pull the players people are asking for.  So no, we couldnt have all these players people keep asking for, but maybe in the next year or two we will

    ReplyDelete
  20. if you look at what i said above you'll see your wrong, we offered him for 35m wi sturridge, then 30, then tried it with anelka, chelsea werent budging, we had no chance of getting him. there was many other strikers but we have nothing to offer star players YET!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. look below jamie on what i said, theres quite a few strikers we went for, but no one will budge cause we offer nothing yet, everyone would agree on aguero but he didnt wanna come plus his wage is about 4 times that of andys, think city are paying 222000 a week, maybe more. we couldnt offer more than city simples. our time will come

  22. Ecclestone could be our Sturridge without spending £30 million.

  23. Well, no surprise in that comment about Carroll then. Poor Saurez ran himself ragged today. He badly needs a Villa, or Higuain, or Adebayor, or even Torres, if he says sorry !

  24. Why doesn't the poster actually name where it exactly it come from his article. Light hearted fun. But again this is expected of this poster alwyas putting a slant on anything to have a snipe

    ReplyDelete
  25. It was very evident today, he came on and stood still, Suarez who worked his socks off was still harrying defenders in the 80th minute, yet Carroll just stood there watching in awe. I wish Bellamy could have played today we would have won i'm certain, he certainly wouldn't have stood in the centre circle waiting for a long punt forward.

  26. I also wonder which of all you two  years or more agaon where saying the same things above about Lucas. It's great, we've proven again that we are the worlds greatest supporters! not. It is alright supporting the players who are playing well but thoase who need support don't get the time, unless you are a scouser bred.

  27. On a totally different matter . . I heard a rumour today that Gerrard's absence is down to him being involved in an altercation which resulted in him being stabbed in the groin area. This has obviously all been hushed up with Kenny spouting nonsense about a mysterious infection of the ankle that appeared from nowhere. Anyone any the wiser, Jamie?

  28. This King of yours santioned the payment of 35 mill for a donkey. Now we all know he is a real donkey because just like his 4 legged cousin, Carroll does not really move much unless given a hard kick in the a***. Earlier he just look like one. Other than this donkey, he also paid about 40 mill for a pair of mules (Henderson + Downing). Notice what happens when these donkey and pair of Mules are NOT in the playing (Chelsea, where we won) and playing (Stoke, Norwich, Spurs, M.C. -where we drew or lost).
Remember Keith we are supposed to be fans of LFC, nothing is bigger than LFC, including this King with a plastic crown.
The bottom line is, if LFC have any ambition of winning the league or just getting back to the top 4, we MUST make this King abdicate.

  29. If Andy had headed the ball six inches to Hart's left in the closing minutes you'd all be lauding instead of persecuting him after the match.

Always remember the Anfield Anthem 'YNWA'. Support the players & the team. He will be a vast asset when he gets more playing time.

  30. I saw the team training when they were here in Malaysia few months back. Even then, we could all see how 'not hardworking' Andy Carroll was. He just did not train well. Didn't run enough, wasn't committed when challenging for the ball and has almost no off-the-ball movement whatsoever. His hair? My knowledge in physics is a bit rusty but I would like to suggest nonetheless that if Carroll did not keep a pony tail, he would have scored with that header against Man City. His long hair may not intrude in his ability to direct the ball, but I do think it effects the speed. As a comparison, recall back Torres' injury time headed goal away to Porstmouth a few seasons back. There was no pace in the cross yet Torres was able to direct the ball towards goal with such power that David James was not able to parry it out even though he managed to get a hand onto it. I love King Kenny but I still don't understand why he bought Andy Carroll.
