Those idiots masquerading as fans over on ThisIsAnfield.com have once again displayed their intolerance of unpopular opinions:

Donks, a long standing board member (and damn good poster from what I remember) had the shocking audacity to suggest that Rafa Benitez is not the man to lead Liverpool to the title...
I hold the same view, as do many other Liverpool fans. When Gerard Houllier’s Liverpool finished 2nd in the league in 2002, I stated two things:
1. Liverpool would finish 5th the next season.
2. Liverpool would never win the league with Gerard Houllier.
I was right on both counts, but of course, at the time, I was rebuked beyond belief for holding such opinions.
Some of the replies in the above thread really are really quite pathetic, an example of which is resident neophyte BKwitch proclaiming:
“Saw this thread in the morning and was disgusted with it...disappointed it was started by one of our veterans of the forum..very disappointed”.
Get a life! Try and understand the concept of competing opinions! Others chime in with same kind of opinions, with the clichéd ‘kneejerker’ accusation bandied about as per usual.
With very few exceptions, ThisIsAnfield.com is populated with precisely the kind of ‘fans’ Liverpool FC don’t need: Intolerant snipers who believe that blind faith is synonymous with positive support. Criticise any of the favourites (Rafa/Gerrard/Carragher etc) and you’re a pariah. Castigate unpopular players (Sissoko, Riise, Hyypia etc) and you’re welcomed with open arms.
TIA has a ridiculous double standard of blatant self-serving hypocrisy, which is what makes it the worst Liverpool discussion forum on the net.
The sad thing to note in the thread is that Donks eventually gave in to the Mob, blaming his opinion on the ‘influence of alcohol’. What a cop-out! Come on, Donks –have the courage of your convictions. Don’t allow the misguided group mentality to pressgang you into submission.
Even more disappointing is that to hide his true opinion, one of the Mods has changed Donk's name on the original post to 'Uberkoen'! I don't know whether Donks requested this, but if he did then shame on you, Donks!
The fact is, many of the short-sighted TIA faithful are simply not capable of seeing the subtleties and nuances that provide clues to Liverpool's future progress. Some people are just more able than others to see the wood for the trees. These people usually see things months before others do.
It is not negativity to hold critical opinions about Rafa Benitez; it is reality based on the evidence. Sooner or later, the dullards at TIA will catch up with the rest of us and finally be able to see the truth.
