Site update - 15 September 2008

Great win against Man U aside, I'm sick of everything to do with LFC right now. It's so far away from the club I want it to be and so different to the club I originally loved that I just can't motivate myself to write about it.

My detractors will no doubt be doing cartwheels of joy right about now ;-)

I think I'll just stick to my stack of LFC season review/official history tapes and remind myself of the REAL Liverpool FC.

Modern football SUCKS.

More typically vacuous drivel from ThisIsAnfield.com!

If you have a mental age of about 7, then you'll appreciate the humour in TIA regular Gimme5's post below:

http://forums.thisisanfield.com/viewtopic.php?t=22670&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

I happened to stumble across this thread when checking the stats for this site on Statcounter.com. On the site, it tells you the referring url for people coming to this site...

Of course, the imbeciles over at TIA are desperate to believe that I actually hang out on the site and read their inane ramblings. Get real! And make your mind up - In one breath, I'm castigated for never being on the site, in the other, I'm apparently always there! I think it's pertinent to remind those with short memories that I was hardly ever on the site, as my meagre 200 post count in 4+ years proved.

As I suspected, the predictable character assassination has begun! Bring it on! It just proves what I've been saying all along about the type of person who posts on TIA. So please, insult and belittle all you like; slag off my site or 'webshite' as Gimme5 put it (Got to admit, that made me laugh!), it makes no difference at all to me.

And Brian Kettle - please stop lying to everyone and explain why I was really banned. Why don''t you show people the banning thread. Oh, wait - you can't. It was deleted. How convenient! I was banned for criticising the ability of the Mods to control heated debates. I suggested that if the Mods kept a leash on snipers and people who hurl insults then threads would not get derailed and descend into arguments.

Hardly a revolutionary suggestion, but predictably, the fragile pride of certain Mods was damaged and I was given the red card.

When I was admonished by resident jobsworth Geebo, I had the audacity to call him 'Mr Authority' and then made the outrageously intimation that I was 'quaking in my boots'.

The horror! Such shocking insults! After that, I stated 'you can ban me now', to which Geebo duly obliged, the irony of the comment completely lost on him.

I don't need to say else anything negative about TIA. The piss-poor standard of argument in the forums speaks for itself, and this is a direct reflection of the piss-poor quality of 'fan' that frequents the place.

Now, I don't direct my vitriol towards everyone on the site. There are good posters there and the site is fundamentally a good idea. However, like most things in life, things get screwed up my the minority, who slowly but surely infect the majority.

On TIA, it is idiots like redBJ, Assraf, BkWitch and Babagon Toki (amongst others) who drag down the quality of the site with their intolerance and sniping.

Add onto that a woefully inept moderating team who have NO IDEA how to MODERATE passionate debates, and you have a recipe for disaster.

My only crime on TIA was having an unpopular view and sticking to it resolutely. As in life though, individual views are attacked and denigrated. The Mods couldn't tell the difference, and neither could the site owner it seems. There was absolutely no fairness applied in my situation at all, which is why I am now on the outside spitting in, and will continue to do so.

Ultimately, who gives a damn anyway! This is the Internet - it's all meaningless and pointless!
